00:06something today that is super near and dear to my heart, which is quick and easy Halloween
00:10costumes.
00:15Now, if you're the kind of person that doesn't like to go and buy their costume in a store
00:19or, you know, just procrastinate like crazy, these are the costumes that are going to be
00:23for you because they're literally super easy to make.
00:26You can make them with things that are just lying around your house, and they're very,
00:30very clever, which is good.
00:32So we're going to be making a ceiling fan, a hot date, and a fashion blogger outfit.
00:38So let's get started.
00:39So the two items that you need are just a plain colored sweatshirt and some heavy duty tape.
00:46I'm using a decorate and repair tape that I got at the hardware store, but any tape that's
00:50not going to come off.
00:51So like, don't use masking tape, don't use scotch tape.
00:54I think duct tape would work or electrical tape.
00:58Just make sure that they're contrasting colors so that you'll be able to see it on the sweatshirt.
01:02And all you have to do is tape the words, go ceiling go onto your sweatshirt.
01:28So this is my quick version of it, you can spend a lot more time making it look nice, but
01:32it serves its purpose really.
01:34So anything on top of this is just, you know, commitment.
01:38I like to wear this with a pleated skirt, tennis shoes.
01:42If you have pom poms lying around, maybe a pennant, those big foam fingers, whatever.
01:47Since I don't have any of that, I'm going to make a pennant out of a file folder and some
01:54chopsticks.
01:55Ta-da!
01:55I'm going to get dressed into the entire costume to show you what it looks like.
02:00And it looks really awesome.
02:02Go, ceilings, go!
02:04We're number one.
02:10This costume is a hot date.
02:13So the most integral part of this costume is to create your date shape, and we're going to do that
02:18with a garbage bag.
02:21Cut two holes on the bottom of your date costume.
02:23Make sure the holes are actually smaller than your leg, and so when your leg goes through them, they'll stretch
02:28the holes.
02:29So two small holes at the bottom.
02:43If you've got an extra-long torso, you're going to want to find a trash bag that can accommodate your
02:47size.
02:48If you're shorter, then great.
02:50You're like me.
02:51My arms are going to probably go out here and here.
03:00Now, to plump up your date, take a bunch of newspapers and make balls out of them
03:11to fill up your garbage bag.
03:17So to complete the date part of the look, you're going to want to glam that up a little bit
03:21by wearing whatever you usually wear on a hot date, like fancy shoes, some sheer pantyhose, red lipstick, fancy jewelry,
03:30a nice clutch, whatever you need to distract from the garbage bag that you're going to be wearing around your
03:36torso.
03:36So let me get changed real quick, and I'll show you what I mean.
03:48For this costume, the fashion blogger, chances are you already have everything that you already need in your closet,
03:54but the trick is to wear everything all together.
03:57So all the trends, color blocking, floral prints, faux furs, whatever, all together.
04:03I brought a fluorescent bag, a sheer mullet skirt, floral print button down, and a fur vest.
04:15And normally I would never, ever, ever wear all these things together just because it would be a trend overload.
04:20But you know, for this costume, I'm just going to go for it.
04:23The other important aspect of this costume is to really sell it.
04:26Most people are probably not going to know what you are unless you play out the entire time.
04:31So tell them you're from the blog, marscapone and maxi skirts.
04:35Print out business cards.
04:37If you have a boyfriend, have them follow you around and take photos of you all night long.
04:40Just really, really, really sell it the whole night.
04:42And that's part of the fun of Halloween anyways.
04:44So I'm going to go get dressed and show you how it looks.
04:54So there you have it.
