Once the temps hit north of 80 degrees, our top priority is getting our hair out of the way. Because as much as we love our long, free-flowing locks, there comes a point when we just want 'em up and away from our necks by whatever means necessary.

But, since many of us aren't quite ready to take the plunge into pixie territory, we knew we had to find some middle ground. So, in a quest for a summertime style superior in both form and function, we called on hair pro Michael Dueñas. With his help, our fashion assistant, Rachel, locked down a look that's basically begging to be worn as the mercury rises. Check it out, above.

00:03I usually wear my hair long and loose on the day. On the day. On the big day.
00:14I usually wear my hair long and loose, but I'm looking for a different style. Do you think you could
00:18show me something good?
00:20Yeah, I think an S-bun is perfect for this occasion.
00:23Begin this look by brushing your hair all back and gathering into a very tight ponytail in your hands.
00:28Start twisting the hair in a reverse French twist so the hair folds over itself. Secure with a few hair
00:35pins.
00:36Once you have your hair secured, continue twisting towards the ends. Form your hair into an S shape, pinning it
00:42as you go along.
00:43Pin at the bottom of your nape, at the top of the apex of the S, and then secure the
00:48ends.
00:52So this was surprisingly easy to do, and I can't wait to try it out this spring.
01:06It'll be fine.
01:07I'll see you next time later.
01:08Today's video will be fine.
01:08Peace.
01:08Peace.
01:08Okay.
