00:12Welcome to my BK Haven! I'm Sandi Pierre and I am the Branded Execution Manager at
00:18Unbothered and this is my apartment in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. I actually got
00:23this apartment through the Lottery Housing after applying for what feels
00:27like years. Growing up I see new developments and gentrification happening
00:32in the neighborhood and I was against it but after doing some more research this
00:36opportunity was something that I just couldn't pass up. The spaces actually
00:40differs from my last apartment because I was living in my parents basement there
00:44wasn't a lot of natural sunlight. I would say the style of this apartment speaks to
00:49my fashion sense. So this is my office slash closet space and this is where
00:56I spent most of my creative time. I was very intentional about this space
01:02because it's multi-purpose. It's an office space but it's also my closet so I want
01:08to make sure it's a place where I can dress up look in a mirror and I feel
01:12like a bad bitch. I'm not like the biggest fashion girl but I do like to
01:16look nice and I always like to support black businesses. I want to show you a
01:22few of my favorite pieces. This gold ring is actually a nameplate that I got in the
01:28seventh grade. I would say in the black community it's super important to have
01:32gold statement pieces because it was something that you know we were always
01:36told that we didn't have the luxury of having so my mom was really big on like
01:41buying gold jewelry for us and making sure that we looked our best. Another
01:45favorite piece of mine is a black owned brand. My friend Samantha Black and this is a
01:51cover-up that she actually made inspired by her Jamaican roots. This is my shoe
01:57collection. So these are one of my first Piers of Jordans that I got patent
02:02leather 11. They're actually still very clean which is very important for
02:06sneaker heads. As females we were told like oh you should be wearing heels but
02:11like nowadays you know you have the Tiana Taylors you have those different people
02:16that make wearing sneakers really cool. So I'm looking forward to just keep
02:20growing my sneaker collection even more. So now here is my kitchen. My parents are
02:27Haitian so I am American Haitian. Cooking is a really really big thing in our
02:32family. Everything has to be really aesthetically pleasing, cute. These pots are
02:38from our place. I have my seasonings up here that are labeled. Your girl she's doing it now. I don't
02:46know about you guys but ever since I got this new kitchen like my food taste
02:50so much better. And I think it's because I'm actually cooking with love and I
02:54actually love like my kitchen space. So having my own space is just the start of a
02:59new journey in my life when it comes to building a family, relationships, like
03:05career-wise. I feel like it all starts in your home and I'm creating a space that
03:11will last for generations. So thank you guys for visiting my home in East Flatbush
03:16Brooklyn. Now you see how I'm living. You don't got to go home but you got to get
03:20the hell up out of here.
