00:01Jaguar Land Rover's plans to modernise its Solihull factory have cleared an environmental
00:05planning hurdle. The council says 20 proposed projects at the Lode Lane plant are unlikely
00:10to have significant environmental impacts. A full environmental impact assessment is
00:15therefore not required. Proposals include a 50,000 square metre paint shop, a car body store,
00:22a logistics building extension and a multi-storey car park. JLS says around 9,000 Solihull employees
00:29have been trained for electric vehicle production. The site is building the first fully electric
00:34Range Rover. The ruling does not grant planning permission and JLR must still seek council approval
00:41for all the proposals.
