00:00What's three country music songs that you think everyone should listen to?
00:03Take You Home by Me.
00:05Yes!
00:06I feel like a Blake Shelton song would be good in there.
00:08Yeah, I was thinking you were going to say that.
00:10Yeah.
00:10Then, Man, I Feel Like a Woman.
00:13Ooh.
00:13By Shania.
00:14Gotta have a little Shania in there.
00:15Yes.
00:23Hey guys, it's Emily Curl here.
00:24And I'm sitting next to Cassidy Vogue.
00:26Cassidy, welcome.
00:27Hi, thank you.
00:27We're so happy to be talking to you.
00:29You've had such a successful career so far.
00:31If you could pinpoint one moment that you're most proud of, what do you think it would be?
00:35Oh my gosh.
00:36Probably winning The Voice, honestly.
00:38That's still surreal to me.
00:41Is it crazy to think where you are now?
00:42Is this kind of where you saw your career going?
00:45Yeah.
00:45Yeah.
00:46I think it was such a blur to me that I just was like, okay, I'm now letting go of
00:51whatever
00:51vision I've had for myself because nothing has happened according to what I thought.
00:55Like the timeline, the way things have transpired for me, the people I'd be involved with.
01:01Like everything has been different from like when I was a kid.
01:03I was like, I'm going to make it like this.
01:05So I've kind of just gone with the flow and let things happen.
01:09And that's been the best, I guess, approach for me.
01:13We're talking to a lot of other female artists.
01:14And I think there's this misconception sometimes in country music that women don't get along
01:18or they're competitive or it's a lot of comparison.
01:21What do you say to people who believe that?
01:22And how do you dismantle that myth, whether you or other women that you know?
01:25Oh my gosh.
01:27I mean, if you follow any of us, you'll see like we all really do care about each other
01:32and root for each other.
01:33And, you know, we do something that's kind of abnormal career wise.
01:37And it's really nice to talk to somebody else that's had the same struggles.
01:42Gone through it.
01:42Yeah.
01:43And I think every woman and every person in the world goes through the same stuff.
01:47But like there's something very unique with what we do.
01:50So it's really important to lean on each other and be there for each other.
01:53Yeah, and to have that just sort of community where you can talk about your struggles.
01:56Because at the end of the day, it's like no one's going to quite understand what it is
01:59that you guys go through except other people going through it.
02:01Yeah.
02:02Yeah, exactly.
02:03And I'm glad you mentioned that because that's one thing I think about often is, you know,
02:06we're all people, we all have bad days.
02:08There's always days where you like don't feel like you're absolute best.
02:10But the difference between like a celebrity and a regular person, a celebrity does it in front
02:14of a lot of people.
02:14Yeah.
02:15So on your bad days, what do you tell yourself or how do you kind of bounce back to be
02:19like,
02:19okay, I'm grounded, I'm me again?
02:21That's something I had a hard time with last year, going through a lot of different changes
02:24and everything.
02:25And I honestly, I read a book called You Are a Badass.
02:28And it's all about self-love.
02:30And I would encourage everybody to read that, just men, women, everybody.
02:36Because I think that we all like to say that we love ourselves and we're confident and we
02:40can walk into a room and feel good.
02:42But, you know, there's always those moments that we're really mean to ourselves.
02:45And we don't think we like look at somebody else and compare, but there's no comparison
02:49because we're all so different than each other and we're complex.
02:52So I think, yeah, just knowing that you are you is such a beautiful thing and to embrace
02:59the imperfections and know that you can make up for it in other ways.
03:03So, yeah, that's a really empowering book.
03:06I'd recommend that.
03:07I'm going to have to read that honestly.
03:09What is one piece of advice that someone's told you before that you wish every woman could
03:12hear?
03:13Well, I actually heard it in a movie.
03:14There's a line in the movie where like one of the characters is really worried about something
03:18and one of the guys was like, aren't you worried about it?
03:22And the Russian guy was like, why would it help?
03:25And it's so true because we worry about things and we dwell on things and we get anxiety about
03:30the future.
03:31And it's literally not going to do a damn thing for ourselves for the future.
03:35So it's good to just like live your life, do your best.
03:38So that stuck with me, honestly.
03:40I actually love that.
03:41That's perfect.
03:42Well, Cassidy, thank you so much for stopping by and we'll see you guys soon.
03:45Bye.
03:46Bye.
