00:01It's who I am and I'm not going to change it because one person tells me I look bad.
00:07Because I know I don't look bad, I know I look great.
00:11That's how I feel.
00:12So if I think I look good then who cares what other people think.
00:43Yesterday was the first time I played drums.
00:46It felt exciting and loud.
00:51I've actually always been interested in drums.
00:54There's this band called Skillet and there's a great girl drummer and that's what inspired me.
01:00That's why I wanted to become a girl drummer.
01:09I play music because it makes me feel powerful.
01:13It makes me feel like I never feel discouraged about it.
01:18And it's always something that's been just my favorite thing to do.
01:26When I play the drums it makes me feel like I'm letting out my feelings.
01:32And if I'm angry or something I play the drums and it just makes me feel better.
01:40I think it kind of makes you feel powerful too.
01:42Because you're like strumming and you're like oh I made that noise.
01:44Like you know that's me.
01:45And it's like a good feeling.
01:47Your arms may start hurting or you may be getting tired.
01:50But you don't want to stop just because it gives you that little high of being a drummer.
01:59When I solo on guitar I'm in another world.
02:03And it's amazing.
02:04So whenever you're having kind of a bad day in this world you can go to another one and just
02:08completely be okay.
02:09It's awesome.
02:20I've got a dancing man, he's my sweet
02:23You never did, don't know wasting time
02:26I'm his one, he's a guy
02:29I've got to do the bug, man, all right, all right
02:35All right
02:38All right
02:41All right, all right
02:47Yeah, I've got to do the bug, man, all right
02:51The girls here, they're always so supportive
02:54And the older girls, they really help with the people who it's their first year, second year or something
03:01Yeah, and I think, like, because we've all, like, been there, you know, our first year
03:04It's like, they know, like, we all get it, I guess, you know
03:06We all have, like, the same sense of, like, oh, like, this is what it's like to be, like, a
03:09girl in, like, you know, this world
03:17I'm the most youngest child here
03:22And I play guitar
03:24At first I barely knew guitar, now I know much more than I used to
03:34I haven't really played bass before, so people tell me that I'm really good at it, so that's awesome
03:38I'm really happy here, I don't think I've ever been this happy before, which is really cool
03:45We're doing a lot of fun stuff, we're doing a lot of hard stuff, so everyone has to collaborate together,
03:49ideas
03:49And, you know, everybody's trying to make something that they want to create and make, take this idea and bring
03:56it to life
03:56And it's really hard, and you need to collaborate with a lot of other people to make this idea a
04:01reality
04:05No one here judges you, it's rock camp, so you don't get judged
04:34I started songwriting probably in first grade
04:38And, um, well, I wasn't really good at songwriting then
04:43I had this, there was this song that I first came up with
04:46And it changed topics, like every two sentences about butterflies
04:50And then spring, and then clouds
04:52Then I actually wrote my first good song in second grade, called Running Away
04:57I mean, it's not that good, but it was really good for a second grader, I guess
05:13I have this really cool denim vest that I put patches all over, so it has my band patch
05:18And it has this one that has a piece of pizza on it, and it says pizza not patriarchy
05:24And then I have another one that says girl power
05:26Some girls feel that they need to look like the people on the covers of Sports Illustrated magazines
05:36But I personally think that you don't need to look like anybody
05:43You're fine the way you are
05:45Because there's girls in there that dress preppy and have long hair
05:50And then there's girls in there that wear like jeans and t-shirts and have short hair
05:54I don't really see a difference
05:56Beauty for me is your attitude and your personality and the way you look at things
06:01Like pretty, you look pretty today, like I love your outfit
06:04Thanks, you know, I tried
06:06But when you're beautiful, you are beautiful on the inside and out
06:12I mean like they love you for who you are and it's just amazing
06:16So it makes me cry sometimes
06:18I hope you realize that I know I'm not worthless
06:21And I will not let how you treated me ruin the rest of my life
06:25I grew up hoping to be that pretty girl
06:29And then, you know, I came to 16 and I'm just like, oh, I'm a manly girl, you know
06:34I'm very different from everyone else
06:37And, you know, when that changes, especially in yourself, you realize that you're beautiful
06:43Because you realize it's not just the outward appearance that you have
06:48It's about how you feel about yourself and how you act about yourself and how you treat yourself
06:53We are powerful, just try and stop us
06:59We are powerful, just give us a chance
07:04We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:20We are powerful, just give us a chance
07:24We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:30We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:34We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:35We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:35We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:35We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:36We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:37We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:37We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:38We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:38We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:39We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:40We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:41We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:42We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:44We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:45We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:47We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:49We are powerful, just try and stop us
07:50We are powerful, just try and stop us
