00:00They want me to look nice, but they want me to look nice so I can find a husband and
00:04get married.
00:06Hi, I'm Iman. I'm from Los Angeles.
00:09I'm originally from Cairo, Egypt. That is where my family's from. That's where I was born.
00:14Growing up, my parents were pretty conservative.
00:16They had a lot of rules on what I can wear, what I can't wear.
00:21I didn't start wearing makeup for a very, very long time, probably till my early 20s.
00:26For me, makeup, it was like the gateway.
00:29It was the door opening for everything else.
00:33It's just been the best transformation because I feel like you could really, really express who you are with your
00:40look.
00:42I think because my parents were so strict growing up, it really limited me on how open I can be
00:49with them.
00:50Conversations that I have with women that I barely know are sometimes more intimate than conversations that I have with
00:58my mom.
00:59They expect me to be a certain way and I'm not necessarily that way.
01:04One of the most defining moments was when I did my mom's makeup for the first time.
01:09She came back and said that she's never walked into a room feeling more confident.
01:18That blew my mind for her to say that.
01:20That just, that showed me, okay, this is exactly what the power of makeup does.
01:24And it's not about changing who you are, but it's just about knowing and feeling that you look your best.
01:31And there's nothing wrong with that.
01:33Well, that's what it's all about.
01:33Well, now, let's look at the story of the world of women.
01:33I'm here.
01:34We're here.
