00:04Hey there Internet, Brandon Hardesty here with IMDb and I'm here with our guest editor Ewan McGregor.
00:10So we have some questions from fans on Twitter here.
00:13This first one comes from Joseph McLean underscore UK.
00:17Was it easy getting back into the mindset of Renton after playing so many different characters over the years?
00:22It was, it was very easy. I worried about it leading up to it. It was quite daunting.
00:27And the idea of what if I couldn't find him again? You know, what if he's not still there?
00:33It's been 20 years, 21 years since I played him the last time.
00:37But then as soon as I, and when I got to set, I met Ewan Bremner in the lunch queue.
00:41So they'd all started and I met Ewan and I said, Ewan, I'm really nervous about it.
00:45And he said, no, we were all, we were all nervous about it, but you'll see it's fine.
00:48It's, it's, it'll come back to you like that.
00:49And it's true when I, when we got on set and the first scene I shot was a bit,
00:53like there was the scene where I meet Johnny Lee Miller's character, Sick Boy.
00:56And yeah, it took about 20 minutes to feel like renting it.
01:00This one comes from Luke and I Block.
01:02What was different about working with Danny Boyle this time after 20 years?
01:06Or was it much the same?
01:08It was very, very similar.
01:10I think the difference is that I could feel his experience.
01:13You know, when we made Shallow Grave, it was all of our first films.
01:16And then when we made Train Spotting, it was my fourth film.
01:19It was his second film.
01:20And then we made another film called Life Less Ordinary some years later.
01:24And those were his first three movies.
01:25Coming back, I could just sense his experience.
01:28You know, he's made many, many movies since we've made the first three.
01:31You're coming back to TV in a big way with Fargo.
01:33So we at IMDb, we always want to ask about your first IMDb credit.
01:37You played Private Hopper in the 1993 miniseries Lipstick on Your Collar.
01:42Could you tell us about that?
01:43I was in Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
01:47I started in 89 and I left in 92.
01:50And I'd started my final year, my third year.
01:53And then we had an agent's evening, they call it.
01:56I went with a lady called Lindy King, who's been my agent for many, many years.
02:01And she put me up for two things.
02:03One was a movie that her husband was directing.
02:05And the other one was this series by Dennis Potter,
02:08who was at the time Britain's sort of premier television writer.
02:11I auditioned for both and I got cast in the TV series but not the film.
02:15And at the time I would have definitely to have chosen the film
02:19if I'd been cast in it over the TV series.
02:21And then the film collapsed, so I was lucky.
02:24If I'd been offered the film and taken it,
02:25I would have ended up maybe not sitting in front of you today.
02:32And see you in a minute again!
02:33They're the first five.
02:33Ok, so this is one of my favorite videos.
