00:04My style has become kind of simpler over time I used to be more flamboyant kind of in my ways
00:12recently I've gotten into the habit of wearing this really matte red lipstick and I'm not your
00:17typical lipstick kind of person that keeps it together so usually by the end of the day it's
00:21like all over everything that I own and my face my name is Leila Gohar and I live in New
00:28York City
00:29I'm from Egypt but I moved to New York when I was 22 and it was after I was living
00:34in Miami for a
00:35while I wanted to move somewhere that was as far away as possible as I could take myself and somewhere
00:41that I had never been the older I get the more I aware I am of you know danger and
00:46ancient life
00:48doing the same thing now would just be mind-boggling like I would be so afraid I would have so
00:53many
00:53reservations at that point in my life I just felt like bring it so this part of the house has
01:06a lot
01:07of books and kind of random things that I keep this was part of this mushroom dinner that I did
01:15at this
01:16gallery here in New York it's kind of like a sculpture oh this is another amazing mushroom I
01:21just realized I have a little bit of a mushroom collection going on really early on in my life
01:29I felt this sense of individuality and that I was a little bit different than people that I grew up
01:34with my parents were really kind of different in in lots of ways so my mom had this upholsterer and
01:41she would make upholstery for our house and then sometimes with the leftover fabric we would get like
01:48a dress or a shirt and it was weird it was out there so we always kind of looked a
01:52little different
01:53we went to different places my mom used to cut my hair like a boy which at the time I
01:57hated I had
01:58like a little afro it was like there was no hair she would like basically buzz off the back and
02:03then I
02:03would just have this like little poofy afro and you know we were like the weird family I think that
02:09kind of resonated and with me and kind of stayed with me that it wasn't I wasn't really interested
02:14in the cookie cutter kind of like every buddy everything way you know
