00:04When I think about what sort of defines my sense of style and what I gravitate towards,
00:10it's maintaining a certain level of what I consider to be classic, but also more natural.
00:17I don't like to wear a lot of makeup. That's what I identify with.
00:23I'm Taylor Patterson, and I'm the owner of Foxwater Farm, a floral studio based in Brooklyn, New York.
00:31I'm originally from Delaware. I moved to New York because I was, like, tired of my job, tired of my
00:38boyfriend,
00:38needed a change, didn't know where to go, came to New York.
00:42So I took a job at a flower shop, and through that, realized how much I loved working with flowers.
00:49I have tulips, these French friend tulips.
00:53You just peel back the petals, and it creates this big open bloom, and I think there's something so elegant
00:58about them.
01:05Jumping headfirst into it was definitely a risk, because the only person I could really rely on to make sure
01:11that it worked was myself.
01:12And for me in the beginning, it was just like being able to book jobs, but now it's like,
01:17okay, how can we maybe participate more with the community around us, and give back a little bit more.
01:26I see a lot of these, like, big, big, fluffy arrangements, and people with flowers.
01:30It's like, they love flowers, so of course they want more flowers.
01:35Give us more, more, more, but how do we, you know, show people and get people to appreciate that sometimes,
01:42like, less is more.
01:43I pretty much wear the same thing every day, or a version of it.
01:48Really simple pallets, and just these really nice materials, and clean cuts.
01:52Clothes that I can move easily in, jeans that aren't going to rip in the butt.
01:56I know what works, and what I'm going to feel comfortable in and happy with throughout whatever the day brings.
02:03That, for me, is kind of the most important thing.
