00:03Don't believe everything you read, I'm not a techie.
00:09Women in particular, I think we have a tendency to put our head down,
00:12work really hard and expect good things will happen.
00:15Go be an engineer because it's still a rarity.
00:20So that's actually become like a big pet peeve of mine.
00:23So whenever like somebody interrupts me, I'll be like, wait, I was talking.
00:28Do not interrupt me.
00:34Abysmal numbers, computer science graduates has actually declined significantly from the 80s, which is nuts.
00:40It is nuts.
00:41There are not enough women at these high levels of these tech companies.
00:46About the structural changes, they care about women, but we're asking them to do some pretty hard things.
00:52So the data says that stereotypes hold us back.
00:54The reason girls don't think they're good in math and science is because everyone tells them they're not good in
00:58science.
00:59Studies show that women hesitate to get into technology or computer science because they think there's a certain culture.
01:05Right?
01:06You know, that, you know, you can't rest night.
01:09You stay up all night.
01:10You, you know, eat espresso, you know, beans covered with beans.
01:14You know, and I think it's more about seeing there's all kinds of different women who can do this.
01:20You can wear ruffles.
01:21Right?
01:22You can be a jock and you can still be a great computer scientist or a great technologist or a
01:26great product designer.
01:30You've got to stay focused and you just have to believe in yourself and just make it happen.
01:35And stick with it.
01:36It is worth it to get to the end.
01:38You will get a job.
01:39You'll get paid well.
01:40You may not like the environment.
01:42And this is the second part.
01:44We are not victims here.
01:46We have something to say about the environment.
01:49If, you know, this is not, they treat me badly.
01:52We have to actually own our position in the world.
