00:00Women have a right to their own peace of mind.
00:03Today is the day of compassion.
00:07Let's not wait to be prompted,
00:10but let us go out tonight, tomorrow,
00:15and the days that follow,
00:18and let us demonstrate our humanity.
00:21I am not a political figure,
00:23and as I said at the time, and I'd like to reiterate now,
00:27my interests are humanitarian.
00:29I'm only trying to highlight a problem
00:31that's going on all around the world.
00:33That's all.
00:34We cannot afford to think of HIV and AIDS
00:37as someone else's problem.
00:39It was considered to be a gay disease,
00:41and for someone who was within the royal family,
00:45and who was a woman, and who was straight,
00:48and to have someone care from the other side
00:50was an incredible gift.
00:53Those who imagine that drug and alcohol problems
00:56mainly affect the less fortunate members
00:58of our community would be quite wrong.
01:01I have it on very good authority
01:03that the quest for perfection our society demands
01:08can leave the individual gasping for breath at every turn.
01:13I am certain the ultimate solution lies within the individual.
01:20But with the help and patient nurturing given by you,
01:26the professionals, family, and friends,
01:29people suffering from eating disorders
01:32can find a better way of coping with their lives.
01:36So deep-seed is this belief
01:38that it can take enormous courage
01:41for women to admit they cannot cope,
01:44that they may need help.
01:46Isn't it normal not to be able to cope all the time?
01:51Isn't it normal for women, as well as men,
01:54to feel frustrated with life?
01:57Isn't it normal to feel angry
01:59and want to change a situation that is hurting?
02:05Perhaps we need to look more closely
02:08at the cause of the illness
02:10rather than attempt to suppress it.
02:13To accept that putting a lid
02:15on powerful feelings and emotions
02:17cannot be a healthy option.
02:20That to offer women the opportunity
02:23to explain their predicament sooner
02:26could be a far more effective use
02:29of limited resources
02:31rather than wait
02:32until their strength to survive
02:34has been sapped.
02:36We will do everything we can
02:38to make sure that she's never forgotten
02:40and carry on all of the special gifts
02:44as such that she had
02:45and that she portrayed while she was alive.
02:47We felt incredibly loved to her and I
02:48and I'm very grateful that that love still feels there.
02:53It was that love
02:54that even if she was on the other side
02:55of a room
02:56that as a son you could feel it.
02:58My first priority
03:00will continue to be our children
03:03William and Harry
03:04who deserve as much love
03:07and care
03:08and attention
03:10as I am able to give.
