00:50I am speechless when I try to describe what is going on here because it is really, literally unbelievable.
00:56Chris, we're talking about, in terms of health care, one-sixth of the American economy, trillions of dollars.
01:04You're talking about an issue that impacts virtually every single American in our country.
01:10And in the midst of all of this, you have a process by which, right now, perhaps a dozen Republicans
01:20are the only people in America who know what is being talked about.
01:25It reminds me of a greeting that I've often heard from people who live in various African countries.
01:33You've probably heard it.
01:34But when you meet someone for the first time, instead of what we would normally say, pleased to meet you,
01:40the greeting back is, I see you.
01:43I see you.
01:45And I think that really is part of our concern here.
01:49Do we see the people who will be impacted in the way that they are actually living their lives?
01:56And do we understand, if we see them, that this bill will not be in their best interest?
02:01We know 13 senators, all Republicans, are crafting a bill, and this bill would restructure our nation's entire health care
02:08system.
02:09From what we're hearing, Senate Republicans aren't making Trump care any better.
02:13They're just working harder to obscure the consequences families across America would face.
02:19It's very curious to see that they are writing their bill in private.
02:24They're keeping the bill secret from the public, trying to keep the American people in the dark about the consequences.
02:31This is a nation about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
02:35That word life.
02:37Here we have legislation speeding its way to the Senate floor that go to the fundamental ideals of this nation.
02:49Will we be a country that has a system of health care that affirms life?
