00:00:06Cradled within the arms of the river's Ganges and Brakutra to the south, and the mysterious
00:00:12plateau of Tibet to the north, majestically stands the mightiest mountain range on the
00:00:18face of the earth, the Himalaya.
00:00:25This is the story of an expedition to this rugged barrier.
00:00:30Not to assault on its windswept, towering heights, but to find and study plant life, which had
00:00:35heretofore been unknown or inaccessible.
00:00:41This is the story of that mission, of how a small group of people found themselves in
00:00:46pursuit of a crude and primitive civilization, which once only existed as a figment of the imagination.
00:01:20Starting from Los Angeles, California, and after careful study of the region, the first
00:01:26leg of the expedition took me to Bombay, India.
00:01:28And the first leg of the Moon is, in this way, which will be the first place for the
00:02:04From there, I proceeded to the town of Shekar, the last settlement before entering the wilderness
00:02:09of rock and ice.
00:02:20There, I selected ten Sherpa natives to serve as porters.
00:02:25My name is Parrish, Dr. Frank Parrish.
00:02:29By profession, I am a botanist, working for the Corrie Foundation.
00:02:34To record the visual log of our expedition, I engaged Peter Wells, well qualified to serve as a photographer.
00:02:41As our guide, I hired Subra, the only English-speaking Sherpa acquainted with the terrain.
00:02:57Only the most essential equipment was selected and distributed among the members of our party.
00:03:06All preparations completed, and everything on schedule, at noon on June 14th, we set out to strike at the mountain.
00:03:17Subra's young wife, Tala, and his brother, Lever, accompanied us to the foot of the mountains before saying goodbye.
00:03:47The first days were uneventful.
00:03:49Monotonous.
00:03:50And tedious.
00:04:08And as we moved on to higher regions, the terrain became more rugged and difficult.
00:04:16Wells and I kept up with the Sherpas, who were much like human mules under the weight
00:04:21of our heavy supplies.
00:04:26We continued on to a height of 10,000 feet above sea level, where I wanted to commence
00:04:31my work.
00:04:37At last on the day, we reached the Plateau region.
00:04:43Zubra, have your men fetch the tents.
00:04:54Up to this point, having established only temporary camps, everyone was eager for our first hot
00:05:01meal.
00:05:02Camp one was now well-established.
00:05:07Except for a variety of common moss and crucifer flour, we found little of interest, but we
00:05:14decided to comb the area more thoroughly for the next few days.
00:05:20How about the shuttle?
00:05:22No thanks.
00:05:28Excuse me, Mr. Duffin.
00:05:29All right?
00:05:30I can't believe it.
00:05:33Everything's fine, Zubra.
00:05:37Alcohol is good?
00:05:38Fine.
00:05:40Here.
00:05:41Help yourself.
00:05:47Thank you, Mr. Duffin.
00:05:49I'm no doctor.
00:05:51Want anything?
00:05:53No, thank you, Zubra.
00:05:54I'll see you later.
00:05:56I'll fix nice hot supper.
00:06:01Wonderful tonic.
00:06:02Warms up the gizzards.
00:06:04Keep that up and you'll pickle your gizzard.
00:06:07Wells, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't hand out that stuff to any of the men.
00:06:11And no drink in their presence, understand?
00:06:14Okay.
00:06:15Suits me.
00:06:17Shekhar, come in.
00:06:18Come in, Shekhar.
00:06:20This is Dr. Parrish.
00:06:21This is Shekhar.
00:06:22Yes, doctor.
00:06:24Let me speak to Inspector Karma, please.
00:06:27We'll get Inspector Karma.
00:06:30That night, all seemed well in the town of Shekhar.
00:06:34Come on, Batch.
00:06:40Come on, Batch.
00:06:40No, not a mace in here.
00:06:40No, not a mace in here.
00:06:43We'll get back in here, but no matter what you want, Batch.
00:06:49If you have any of the mace in here.
00:06:59There is Batch, you have some other mace.
00:07:04—
00:07:04you
00:07:07—
00:07:07you
00:07:09It's all very good.
00:07:10Everyone comes to a house and he's told the world they'd like.
00:07:13Don't I know?
00:07:14Where are they?
00:07:15I'm going with nobody else home zeggen all the time and them to chat with me.
00:07:20I'm now on the house and he's told the world the people that I need.
00:07:23So I'll take the moment soon and then nanae get on it.
00:07:24I'm lucky but I wrestled in the street
00:07:26and wasn't any time, giant.
00:07:27Nos in our city already killed us.
00:08:40Mr. Doctor.
00:08:42Oh, Subaru, what is it?
00:08:44Yeti.
00:08:45Yeti, Mr. Doctor.
00:08:47Yeti.
00:08:48What's all the noise?
00:08:51My brother, River.
00:08:52He come with four men.
00:08:55They followed us all the way up here?
00:08:56What do they want?
00:08:57Brother say, Yeti steal my woman, Tara.
00:09:01We leave.
00:09:01Go after Yeti.
00:09:03Yeti, Yeti.
00:09:04What is this?
00:09:06Yeti, creature of snow.
00:09:07Snow giant.
00:09:08Oh, you mean the abominable snowman.
00:09:11The Phantom of the Himalayas.
00:09:12Marauder of women.
00:09:15We go after Yeti.
00:09:17Find him.
00:09:18Oh, the newspapers and magazines have carried stories about it from time to time.
00:09:23Remember?
00:09:23Yeah, the sheriff has built this creature into a horror story.
00:09:26This isn't a hunting party.
00:09:28Thousands of dollars have been spent to finance this expedition.
00:09:31And he wants to chase a legend.
00:09:33Mr. Doctor, Yeti really, Mr. Doctor.
00:09:35No one's ever seen one.
00:09:36Oh, I know people who have brought back stories about these semi-humans.
00:09:41Oh, the whole thing sounds fantastic.
00:09:43Brother say, Yeti steal Tara.
00:09:46I'm sorry, Subra.
00:09:48Have your brother and his men join us if they want to.
00:09:50But we have other work to do.
00:09:52Well...
00:09:52I didn't know right now.
00:09:54It's cool.
00:09:55Hmm.
00:10:23Because of my decision, I felt that Subra resented and disliked me.
00:10:52No!
00:10:52No!
00:11:16Let's go to the center, so let's go to the center.
00:11:22What do you think is going on out there?
00:11:27That sounds like Subaru trying to be very important.
00:11:31I'd better find out.
00:11:37Subaru!
00:11:50Subaru!
00:11:55Well?
00:11:57Well, what interrupt you?
00:11:58What do you mean?
00:12:01Subaru, I want to talk to you.
00:12:03Talk?
00:12:04What's the meaning of this?
00:12:05I didn't order to break camp.
00:12:06You move.
00:12:07I'll tell you when to move.
00:12:08We move now.
00:12:10Subaru, what's come over you?
00:12:12You sent some of our men away, didn't you?
00:12:15Only four of our men.
00:12:16Other four belong to Brother Levi.
00:12:17I'm concerned with our men. Now come back.
00:12:20They look this side of the mountain.
00:12:22We look the other side for Yeti.
00:12:25I'll shoot any man who doesn't obey.
00:12:28You know who can shoot.
00:12:32They're empty.
00:12:32They're taking our cartridges.
00:12:37Subaru, this is mutiny.
00:12:39Subaru take guns.
00:12:41All right.
00:12:43Where do you intend to look for this creature?
00:12:46Everybody look, Rocky Valley Legion.
00:12:48Why, that's ridiculous.
00:12:49This party's not equipped for that kind of thing.
00:12:51Subaru no care.
00:12:54Well, may as well let them go.
00:12:56There's no point in our following along.
00:12:58We might as well come back.
00:12:59Turn back?
00:13:00No can't find a way.
00:13:01We'll move now.
00:13:10Well, I think I need a drink.
00:13:12Yeah, you'll need more than that.
00:13:16Wait a minute.
00:13:17What about the radio?
00:13:19I joke, that's an idea.
00:13:28Get packed.
00:13:29We move right away.
00:13:30Come on.
00:13:31Come on.
00:13:33Whether Wells and I liked it or not,
00:13:34we had no alternative but to follow along.

00:15:00No, it's just the ruddy wind.
00:15:08I think this is it.
00:15:11Give me some light.
00:15:13Oh, it's my scotch.
00:15:16Never mind that now.
00:15:24There it is.
00:15:30I hope they haven't been monkeying with it.
00:15:34It looks all right.
00:15:43Wait a minute.
00:15:46It's okay, go ahead.
00:16:04Shekhar, come in.
00:16:07Come in, Shekhar.

00:16:41Where is the scotch?
00:16:44No, wait a minute.
00:16:45That's my personal property.
00:16:46Take it easy, Wilms.
00:16:47Subra, I like alcohol.
00:16:54Mr. Doctor, go to sleep now.
00:16:57Big clock tomorrow.
00:16:59You too.
00:17:00Take it easy.
00:17:00You too.

00:17:24We'll get to Shekhar police.
00:17:25Well, I hope so.
00:17:29Wells.
00:17:32Have yourself a nightcap.
00:17:34I'll be right back.
00:17:37Oh, thanks, old boy.
00:17:38I will.
00:18:02I found that the radio could be repaired.
00:18:07Well's case of scotch gave me an idea.
00:18:34Let's go.
00:18:52What was that?
00:18:54Hmm?
00:18:55I didn't hear anything.
00:18:59There is again.
00:19:01Oh, it's just the wind.
00:19:03The altitude is getting on your nerves.
00:19:05My nerves are all right.
00:19:08I better take a look.
00:19:39Oh, what are you doing?
00:19:41We move now.
00:19:42I got it.
00:19:43Don't you take care of it last night?
00:19:52Come on.
00:19:54I'm coming.
00:19:55You're coming.
00:19:59Mr. Doctor, believe now?

00:20:09I'll take the suit.
00:20:14Come on, let's go.
00:20:16Everyone, let's go.
00:20:25Zura.
00:20:27Aren't you forgetting something?
00:20:30No one's main-carrie radio machine.
00:20:32It's dead.
00:20:53Come on.
00:20:54Come on.
00:20:56Fuck off.
00:21:09Don't get me alone, I'll call her.
00:21:12It's still an option.
00:21:13I can't see Anna and I'll call her.
00:21:14I'll call her.
00:21:15I'll call her...
00:21:19I saw that.
00:21:20I'll call her.
00:21:40You don't understand her, I'm dead.
00:21:43You cannot stop here.
00:21:50We go up.
00:21:51Let's go to the street, let's go!
00:21:54Viva!
00:22:36Viva!
00:22:52Even Suebrook had not fight the darkness.
00:22:55At sundown, he ordered the men to make camp.
00:23:08I still think it was a pretty mean trick, leaving my tonic behind.
00:23:13The tubes are all right, but the wires are broken.
00:23:15Oh, now you'll find out after depriving me of my...
00:23:19Wait a minute.
00:23:23All right, go ahead.
00:23:34What the hell are you doing?
00:23:46He's dead.
00:23:57I couldn't rest.
00:24:00The legend.
00:24:02The abduction of Suebrook's wife.
00:24:04The footprints.
00:24:06The death of a native.
00:24:08All these things began to fall into a mysterious pattern.
00:24:11Take him from the long run, didn't you?
00:24:17Oh, you didn't.
00:24:19You're going to put on the right side.
00:24:19All these things were the most rarest.
00:24:33As they all were acting together, every storm had not taken away...
00:24:36But there was a very pure force of meaning.
00:24:38I'm going to return all these things...
00:24:43Oh, my God.
00:25:21Yeah, looks like it's over.
00:25:23We were lucky, huh?
00:25:25I'll say we were.
00:25:26What are you doing, sir?
00:25:28Well, here's a spot that calls for a spot.
00:25:32Where's that?
00:26:04Well, here's a spot.
00:26:11Come on, here's a Q.K.
00:26:20We're is here.
00:26:22You know, this altitude is beginning to get me.
00:26:27I'm getting pretty high up.
00:26:30Probably be needing oxygen soon.
00:26:39Let's go.
00:26:40Storm come.
00:26:40We need to find the shelter.
00:26:42Across the dock.
00:27:01Look, over there.
00:27:03Cave.
00:27:06How long will it take us to get down there?
00:27:09One hour.
00:27:10Maybe two.
00:27:13You go there, Naika.
00:27:14Hack, hack.
00:27:19Hack.
00:27:23I'll catch you.
00:27:43I'll catch you later.
00:28:49Yeah, it would have been impossible in the tents with this weather.
00:28:56Subra.
00:28:59Yes?
00:29:01Miriam.
00:29:05You know, you could be a very famous man.
00:29:08Oh, yes?
00:29:09Yeah.
00:29:12If we did find this Yeti and brought him back to America alive...
00:29:18Subra only one to kill a Yeti.
00:29:22Suppose you did kill one.
00:29:25How would you know it's the one you're after?
00:29:28If there's one Yeti, there must be a whole civilization...
00:29:31or a whole tribe of them.
00:29:34If they kill all Yeti, Subra no care.
00:29:38Well, how far up do you intend to go?
00:29:40To the top of Everest or Annapurna?
00:29:44Maybe yes.
00:29:47Where are these creatures?
00:29:49Why has no one ever seen one?
00:29:52Yeti, him hide.
00:29:54When he's a little human.
00:29:56But Yeti come to all countries when he wants to steal women.
00:30:00Always wants to steal women.
00:30:04We'll go until we find Yeti.
00:30:08I think you need to go to sleep now.
00:30:13Oh.
00:30:15Give me a second.
00:30:17Let me go.
00:30:26Move over, my duck.
00:30:32Too bad.
00:30:34What's too bad?
00:30:37I tried to get to that radio, but it's one of the Sherpa's packs.
00:30:42Well, we'll just have to wait until we see a better opportunity.
00:30:45Yeah.
00:30:47Right now, I'm going to get it and go to bed.
00:31:10What is it, Subra?
00:31:11What is it, Subra?
00:31:12This building is Tara.
00:31:13My woman.
00:31:16Tara!
00:31:17Tara!
00:31:18Tara!
00:31:19Tara!
00:31:21Yeti bring Tara here.
00:31:24We go find Tara.
00:31:25Tara!
00:31:26I realized that the snow creature was not just a legend.
00:31:30I consoled myself with the thought that finding one would more than compensate for my failure as a botanist.
00:31:46Subra was a man possessed.
00:31:48He split the party, ordering the men to search the tunnels and to meet at the entrance of the cave.
00:31:56Now, are you, sir?
00:32:11What are you told me?
00:32:18It's only right.
00:32:18Yeah.
00:32:18Sorry.
00:32:27Now, this place gives me the creeps.
00:32:29It's not the most cheerful place in the world.
00:32:33It's only an animal of some kind.
00:32:35Zubra!
00:32:37What is it?
00:32:38Mountain boat.
00:32:39Let's go.
00:32:51Zubra!
00:32:53Zubra!
00:32:54Pochita!
00:32:58Zubra!
00:33:24Zubra!
00:33:26Yeti!
00:33:26No!
00:33:32Tara!
00:33:33Tara!
00:33:49Get it! Get it! Get it! Get it! Get it!
00:33:59He's only stunned. He's not dead.
00:34:02Target him!
00:34:07I'll give him a high boat to keep him quiet.
00:34:10Get a tarp along. We'll carry him in that.
00:34:12Go on.
00:34:16We found that the female and child of the snow creature had been killed by the cave-in.
00:34:21We held Subra and Leva at gunpoint
00:34:25and ordered them to carry the creature back to the entrance of the cave
00:34:28to meet the rest of the Sherpas.
00:34:35Wells, get that gun.
00:34:41One false move and I'll shoot.
00:34:44Tell that man to put the radio down.
00:34:46The radio was dead.
00:34:48I'll try to get the Shekar police.
00:34:56Unable to establish contact with Shekar, we started down,
00:35:00determined to bring the creature back alive.
00:35:11For the nightlife.
00:35:48Wells and I took turns watching to make certain that nothing went wrong.
00:36:35We managed to keep the creature in a semi-conscious state.
00:36:38Allowing him to come to only enough to take food.
00:36:48So on the fifth day, we reached the low land region.
00:36:57On the seventh day, as we were nearing the town of Shekar, I decided to herd the natives straight to
00:37:04the police.
00:37:11Yes.
00:37:12Corey Foundation, Los Angeles, California.
00:37:16Yes.
00:37:18Yes.
00:37:18Whom did you wish to speak with?
00:37:20Mr. Corey, Jr.
00:37:23Corey, Jr.
00:37:25Yes.
00:37:26Yes.
00:37:28Yes.
00:37:29As I said, your foundation was granted permission to explore the Himalayas.
00:37:35Your discovery is of a very unusual nature.
00:37:39But it belongs to you, and you are free to do with it as you wish.
00:37:42The inspector kept repeating how friendly his country was and how it welcomed scientists, explorers, and so on.
00:37:50I am sure you will accept my government's apologies.
00:37:53And the natives will be held in custody here for taking the law into their own hands.
00:37:58Yes.
00:37:59Well, thank you.
00:38:01By the way, can I keep the creature here until I can arrange for his transportation?
00:38:07Of course.
00:38:07Of course, he'll have to be fed.
00:38:10And could you give him an injection every six hours?
00:38:13Yes.
00:38:14We shall do that.
00:38:16Oh, by the way, your guide wishes to speak with you.
00:38:19Zubra?
00:38:20Yes.
00:38:20Well, send him in.
00:38:22Oi.
00:38:22Zubra, sir.
00:38:24Mr. Doctor.
00:38:26Zubra.
00:38:27Zubra.
00:38:27No, no, I understand the law.
00:38:29No can say if this yeti steal my woman.
00:38:32Nobody knows.
00:38:34Inspector Carma, I won't prefer charges against these people.
00:38:39Uche kate mi indersteo.
00:38:42Thank you, Mr. Doctor.
00:38:44Oh, forget it.
00:38:45Forget it.
00:38:47What's your machine?
00:38:48Oi.
00:38:50Oi.
00:38:50Your telephone call.
00:38:52Will you take it in the next room?
00:38:53Oh, fine.
00:38:54Come on, boss.
00:38:55Oi.
00:38:55Come on, boss.
00:38:57Come on.
00:38:58Yes, that's the idea.
00:39:00And please send the refrigerator unit as quickly as possible.
00:39:04Fine, fine.
00:39:05I'm leaving for Bombay immediately to take care of all the arrangements.
00:39:09You can reach me there, let's see, in care of the TWA office.
00:39:12Well, good.
00:39:13Oh, uh, would you please call my wife and tell her I'll be home soon?
00:39:18Good.
00:39:21They're sending us a refrigerator unit to transport the creature in.
00:39:25An air-conditioned affair.
00:39:27What's the matter with you?
00:39:29Well, I don't like the whole thing.
00:39:31What do you mean?
00:39:33Well, it's just this.
00:39:34I could get two or three thousand pounds for that photograph I took,
00:39:37and we should split that money between us.
00:39:38As far as the creature's concerned, well, we should sell him and then...
00:39:41The photograph, do what you want with it.
00:39:43As for the creature, he's going to the Corey Foundation, where he belongs.
00:39:46You've just got no business sense.
00:39:49An opportunity like this comes once in a lifetime, and you don't...
00:39:52Did your telephone call come out all right for you?
00:39:54Thank you, Claire Zabel.
00:39:56I have to leave for Bombay right away, but I'll be back in a few days.
00:40:00Would you see that nobody comes near the creature, including Mr. Wells?
00:40:10According to this cable, your temperature-controlled unit should be here on our cargo flight at 8.40 this evening.
00:40:16Now, the cable says to handle it with the utmost care.
00:40:18Yes, it's very delicate. We'll have to rush it to Shekar.
00:40:21I've already made all the arrangements to send it in the documents to you.
00:40:24And we'll take care of all other formalities.
00:40:27Thank you very much.
00:40:48We followed your instructions. The injection worked fine. Here he is.
00:40:55Now, let's see. This unit will keep the motor running en route.
00:41:00This is the temperature control.
00:41:03And the self-contained oxygen unit. Food traps.
00:41:07Oh, yes. Food traps.
00:41:09You Americans. Manufacturing a construction like this on a phone call.
00:41:14Well, I better be going.
00:41:16Thank you very much, Inspector Carl.
00:41:18Have a good trip back to California.
00:41:41The temperature control occurred to you.
00:42:30Hello, Frank.
00:42:37Hello, Mr. Corey.
00:42:38Glad to see you.
00:42:38How are you?
00:42:39Well, instead of flowers, I brought you a Yeti.
00:42:42That's what the natives call him.
00:42:43Where is he now?
00:42:44Well, he should be here.
00:42:45I sent him ahead on a cargo plane.
00:42:46Really?
00:42:47Which one of you is Dr. Parrish?
00:42:48I am.
00:42:49Hold on to the pretty girl, Doctor, and give us a big smile.
00:42:53I'm a botanical doctor.
00:42:54Have you heard the story about the snowman?
00:42:56Just a minute.
00:42:57I just got here.
00:42:57I haven't even talked to my wife.
00:42:59Now, gentlemen, you can reach Dr. Parrish at the foundation for later.
00:43:02Dr. Frank Parrish.
00:43:04Dr. Frank Parrish.
00:43:05Please report to the customs warehouse.
00:43:08Which way is it?
00:43:09Well, it's easy enough to find out.
00:43:10Come on.
00:43:11All right.
00:43:12Excuse me, gentlemen.
00:43:13I'll talk to you later.
00:43:21Well, there it is, darling.
00:43:25Mr. Corey, what do you think of it?
00:43:27Amazing.
00:43:28Absolutely amazing.
00:43:30I see where you classify your import as a snow creature.
00:43:34That's right.
00:43:35Well, it's necessary that we clarify its immigration status.
00:43:39Immigration status?
00:43:40I don't understand.
00:43:42Well, the question is, is it a beast or a man?
00:43:45Well, he's not human, if that's what you mean.
00:43:47Do you know Mr. Peter Wells?
00:43:49Oh, yes.
00:43:50He's my photographer.
00:43:52This article came to our attention.
00:43:55Mr. Wells refers to your discovery as a snowman.
00:44:02Well, that's ridiculous.
00:44:04Wells is a photographer.
00:44:05He's reaching for sensationalism.
00:44:07This creature is definitely not human.
00:44:09Mr. Fleet, certainly your department isn't going to take this photographer's word literally.
00:44:14Well, this is a very unusual case.
00:44:17This is a very unusual find.
00:44:19Do you realize what this means to science?
00:44:22That's why our department was interested enough to contact a prominent anthropologist, Dr. Lewis DuPont.
00:44:27Dr. DuPont?
00:44:29Of course, I've heard of him.
00:44:30He should be well qualified to substantiate Dr. Parrish.
00:44:34Unfortunately, he can't be here until seven o'clock tonight.
00:44:36You will be in my office until seven o'clock.
00:44:39Of course.
00:44:40This will have to stay in the warehouse until then.
00:44:42We've studied the instructions on the refrigerator to be properly collected.
00:44:47Well, I guess it'll just have to wait.
00:44:49We'll see you at seven.
00:44:50Come on, doctor.
00:45:00What an unusual specimen.
00:45:04The department's main interest is to classify the specimen, as you call it, as not being human.
00:45:10Dr. Parrish?
00:45:11Yes, may I?
00:45:13Of course.
00:45:14I'm a little lonely.
00:45:15Well, that's all right.
00:45:15Dr. Parrish, Dr. DuPont.
00:45:17Oh, how do you do?
00:45:17How do you do, doctor?
00:45:18Has Mr. Corrigan here?
00:45:19Not yet.
00:45:20Why don't you sit down?
00:45:21Well, thank you.
00:45:22Cigarette?
00:45:23Well, thank you.
00:45:24What an unusual find for a botanist to me.
00:45:28Yes, it is.
00:45:29And you say you also saw a female and a child?
00:45:35That's right.
00:45:36Have you seen the specimen I brought back?
00:45:38No, not yet.
00:45:39Well, we will.
00:45:40As soon as Mr. Corrigan arrives, he called and he should be here any minute.
00:45:46I have said this creature is not human.
00:45:49I didn't say he was.
00:45:52I have to determine whether his brain is a calculating brain.
00:45:56And from that, narrowed down all of the theories.
00:46:00We must have one definite classification.
00:46:03Yes, I understand.
00:46:05From what we know of these, shall I say, snow creatures, they have been a legend.
00:46:12We have seen abstract drawings and heard stories of these nomads, but they were always associated with human traits.
00:46:27Yeah.
00:46:31Yeah.
00:46:51We were worried about how many dinosaurs were able to escape.
00:46:55Well, you've been told that, so you had to come back and say, so you are a horror part of
00:46:56them.
00:47:24We'll be right over here.
00:47:26The creature has escaped.
00:47:27What?
00:47:28Let's get over to the warehouse.
00:47:35He started to move in that thing.
00:47:36Then he started to shake it.
00:47:38And it fell.
00:47:39He got out and I started to run for my life.
00:47:41A sight I'll never forget.
00:47:42He come at me and I...
00:47:45Mr. Pleat?
00:47:46I'm Mr. Pleat.
00:47:47I'm Lieutenant Dunbar, police.
00:47:49This is Dr. DuPont, this is Dr. Parrish.
00:47:51What's this all about?
00:47:59Ah!
00:48:01Ah!
00:48:05Ah!
00:48:30You'll have to give us a description.
00:48:32Michael, where's the phone?
00:48:34Right over there.
00:48:34Come on, Doctor.
00:48:35You can give it to the department first-hand.
00:48:41That's all, Evan.
00:48:42Send it out right away.
00:48:44Would you come with me a moment, Doctor?
00:48:46Certainly.
00:48:49Quite extraordinary, Doctor.
00:48:52Car 61.
00:48:53Come in, Lieutenant Dunbar.
00:48:55Car 61.
00:48:56Come in, Lieutenant Dunbar.
00:48:58Dunbar, go ahead.
00:49:00Body of a girl found on the alley back of 1220 Coast Street.
00:49:08Over.
00:49:09Got it.
00:49:10Out.
00:49:11Hear that, Doctor?
00:49:12I'd better come along.
00:49:13I think you'd better.
00:49:14Oh, Mr. Bleat.
00:49:16When Mr. Corey gets here, breathe in mind everything, will you?
00:49:18I'll see you later.
00:49:21I'll see you later.
00:49:25Come on.
00:49:28Come on.
00:49:31Come on, Eddie.
00:49:33Come on.
00:49:35You know you.
00:49:47Okay.
00:49:48You look out of the directions between your car and wind.
00:50:24Come on, Lieutenant.
00:50:25What's going on, Richards?
00:50:27I thought you were through for the day.
00:50:29Looked that way, didn't it?
00:50:31Any news from the wife?
00:50:32Not yet.
00:50:32Mother-in-law is still with her.
00:50:34Something wrong?
00:50:35My wife and I are having a baby, that's all.
00:50:38Oh, what's that all?
00:50:39This way.
00:50:42Oh, thank you, Johnny.
00:50:49Oh, let's see.
00:50:55This is the warehouse.
00:50:59Oh, here's Coast Street, where the girl was killed.
00:51:02The distance from here, it here is about, say, three miles.
00:51:08Yeah, come on.
00:51:10Well, it's strange to me that nobody reported seeing him
00:51:12from the time he left the warehouse until he arrived at Coast Street.
00:51:15Well, it's late, hardly anybody on the streets.
00:51:18I guess so.
00:51:19He's got to be stopped.
00:51:23Stopped, Lieutenant, but not killed.
00:51:26Is there something else you can tell us about him, Doctor?
00:51:28His mentality, his habits, something.
00:51:31Well, he's acclimated to a high altitude, low temperature.
00:51:36We know all that.
00:51:45Send out this bulletin to all radio stations and newspapers.
00:51:48Tell everyone to stay off the streets and remain calm.
00:51:51That goes for everybody.
00:51:54Right.
00:51:57Well, what do we do now?
00:51:59There's nothing we can do,
00:52:01except wait for him to show up again.
00:52:26Attention, all citizens.
00:52:27This is an urgent public service bulletin
00:52:29from your police department.
00:52:30A dangerous killer beast is at large.
00:52:33You are asked to remain indoors.
00:52:35This is an urgent public service bulletin to all citizens.
00:52:39A dangerous killer beast is at large.
00:52:58And if there's nothing to happen after the military agent,
00:52:59It's not hard than a relative to the nature of all citizens.
00:53:00There's nothing to come at all of us.
00:53:00There's no need to use that.
00:53:00It's a smoke death.
00:53:00It's a crazy killer extent.
00:53:03There's no need to go.
00:53:03It's a great mess.
00:53:04There's no need to call up again.
00:53:04There's no need to go.
00:53:06It's a good Western privateaving wagon.
00:53:06People.
00:53:09There's no need to go.
00:53:10It's a great major.
00:53:33Don't. Don't do it.
00:53:35Don't. Don't. Don't do it, please. Don't.
00:53:36Now get out of here.
00:53:37You don't understand. Give me a chance to explain it.
00:53:40Don't. Don't do it.
00:53:41I'm sick of listening to your words now you stay away from me and if I never see
00:53:47you again it'll be too soon now get out of here

00:55:02right here the pharmacy he's got to be within that triangle
00:55:12instruct all units in sectors 15 and 16 to converge at area 11. right
00:55:21how about some coffee doctor yeah charlie you got any more coffee
00:55:52so
00:57:03Help! Police!
00:57:08Why don't you go to bed? It's getting pretty late.
00:57:11Okay, I'll try to check with you later. Goodbye, dear.
00:57:15Thanks, Lieutenant.
00:57:19Now, what's the matter?
00:57:20Now, you've got two reasons to face the war.
00:57:25Yes?
00:57:27But that's impossible. We've got that whole area swarming with men.
00:57:32Are you sure?
00:57:35Right.
00:57:37What is it? What happened?
00:57:38This whole thing is cock-eyed.
00:57:40These are the three areas.
00:57:42Logically, then, the force should be in here.
00:57:43But it isn't. He was just spotted at a meatpacking house way up here.
00:57:46Well, how did he get out of that area?
00:57:48Isn't it covered by the police?
00:57:49That's a $64 question. It's a distance of almost seven miles.
00:57:53And nobody's seen him from there to there.
00:57:55That's right.
00:57:58There are only two ways that this thing could get around.
00:58:01Walking and flying. He hasn't got wings.
00:58:04Any normal person could hide out in a hotel or any place.
00:58:08This is a white elephant. Any three-year-old child could spot him.
00:58:12The question is, how does he cover seven miles without being seen?
00:58:31Just an idea, Lieutenant, but I think I've got something.
00:58:34What is it? The storm drains.
00:58:37I don't get it.
00:58:39Some of those openings are big enough for two men to crawl into.
00:58:42You mean the catch basins?
00:58:45I think you've got something there, Doctor.
00:58:51Get me the city engineer at his home.
00:58:54What's the guy's name?
00:58:55Edwards. That's it, Edwards.
00:58:58Department of Public Works is right around the corner.
00:59:01So wake him up.
00:59:12The drainage and sewer system of the city are a lot cooler than the external temperature.
00:59:18I told you the creature had intuitive powers.
00:59:21He could have sensed the colder temperature.
00:59:23And that would explain why he was never seen from jump to jump.
00:59:26Do you have a complete chart of the storm drains?
00:59:28Lieutenant, there are 4,800 miles of storm drains onto this city.
00:59:33We've got lots of charts.
00:59:35How about the east end?
00:59:37Yes.
00:59:41Cigarette?
00:59:42No, thanks.
00:59:43You know, Doctor, there are drains connecting these areas.
00:59:46We've got something to work on.
00:59:47Mm-hmm.
00:59:51There we are, Lieutenant.
00:59:55That's the area.
00:59:56Right here.
01:00:01Here are the spots, Doctor.
01:00:02Right along the drain lines.
01:00:04Can I take this with me?
01:00:05Yes.
01:00:08Thanks, Edwards.
01:00:10Sorry to wake you.
01:00:11Well, that's all right, Lieutenant.
01:00:13Think nothing of it.
01:00:14Anything for the police department.
01:00:22Now, Richards, get eight men.
01:00:24Issue the works.
01:00:25They shouldn't be too much.
01:00:25Walkie-talkies, lamps, rubber boots, so on.
01:00:29Right together.
01:00:30The first detail will start here at 11th and Grand, near the warehouse.
01:00:35The second at Coast Street, where the girl was found.
01:00:38Coast.
01:00:39Dr. Parish, myself, and a couple of officers will start here at the pharmacy.
01:00:44The first detail will work to the north.
01:00:47The second to the south.
01:00:49And we'll work eastward.
01:00:50Time within the hour, we should all meet right here.
01:00:54Got it?
01:00:55Check.
01:00:55Hurry it up.
01:00:56All right, Sergeant.
01:00:57Well, Lieutenant.
01:00:59Can we take a net along?
01:01:00Sure.
01:01:01Hey, Richards.
01:01:02Get a big net and some poles to go with it.
01:01:04Right.
01:01:05And, uh, leave word where I'll be in case the hospital calls.
01:01:08Yes, Lieutenant.
01:01:10Let's go.
01:01:30In terms of the night.
01:01:33Hey.
01:01:40Alright.
01:01:41The good night is the night.
01:01:41And, uh, left.
01:01:45But, in my life.
01:01:45Yes, sir.
01:01:46And I going to take a thousand oli, while I went there.
01:02:46Just a minute.
01:02:51Lynch?
01:02:54Lynch.
01:02:55Yes, I'm coming.
01:02:55Can you make out anything?
01:02:57Not yet, Lieutenant.
01:02:59Proceeding south according to plan.
01:03:01Over.
01:03:03How about you, Roberts?
