00:00We're really excited to talk to you today.
00:01I feel like this movie is so important right now,
00:04especially because our country is all over the place,
00:06politically, racially, there's so much happening.
00:08Why do you feel this movie is important right now,
00:11in this moment?
00:12The beauty of it right now is it brings everything down.
00:17It simplifies, in a real way,
00:22what is most important with human beings,
00:26how we center on the idea of love, time, and death.
00:29And so if you could write a letter like your character,
00:32Howard, to anyone in the universe,
00:33who would you want to write your letters to?
00:35What I realized on this film is that there is nothing more
00:40important to me than love.
00:41You know, I am a serious, hopeless romantic.
00:48Lots of letters to love.
00:49Lots of letters to love, over and over again.
00:51I love that.
00:52What are the holidays like in the Smith household?
00:54Yeah, Christmas is very important to Jada.
00:56So in the, you know, in the Smith household,
01:00everybody understands that you put yourself aside on Christmas
01:04and you make sure mommy has a great time.
01:09Jada makes Christmas profoundly beautiful for our family.
01:14Nice.
01:15And we have a new year coming up.
01:16Do you have any New Year's resolutions that you're thinking about?
01:18Yeah.
01:18Now, you know what?
01:19I generally don't make New Year's resolutions.
01:24If it's good enough to do on New Year's, it's good enough to do right now.
01:28That's a good way to think about it.
01:29You know, if you think about it on December 8th,
01:32Yeah.
01:33Why would you wait, you know, do an extra month of the vice,
01:36you know, before you get it right on New Year's?
01:39So yeah, I generally avoid New Year's resolutions.
