00:11Hi, I'm Michael Duenas.
00:13And I'm Tara from Refinery29.
00:14Today, Michael is going to teach me how to do a voluminous French twist.
00:18A twist with a twist.
00:21Begin by sectioning the top of your head and clipping the hair out of the way.
00:25It works best if you section off at the rounds of your head.
00:32Use a backcombing brush and create some volume and texture at the back of your head.
00:36Bring all your hair back, leaving volume in the back, and do a French twist.
00:40Secure and pin the hair in the back.
00:43Remove the clip from the top section of your hair.
00:46In small sections, backcomb, focusing most of the volume in the middle of your head.
00:51We want to form a conical shape.
00:53Once backcombs, bring the hair back into the side and tuck the ends into the top of your French twist,
00:58leaving volume at the crown.
01:04Grab sections of the hair around your hairline and begin to twist them back into the French twist.
01:09Give yourself about three or four twists on the side.
01:12Secure each twist with a bob pin.
01:17Spray with hairspray to smooth down any flyaways and add texture into the top if desired.
01:24I love a classic French twist, but I've never worn anything like this and I totally love it.
01:29I think it really suits you.
01:31Why thank you.
