00:00Not so cute.
00:04So whether you thrifted a vintage belt that's just a little bit too long or you want to tie your
00:09hip belt around your waist,
00:10sometimes you have a belt that's just got a lot of extra slack to it.
00:14And instead of making it look weird by trying to tuck it into itself, here is a clever way to
00:19make it look like a styling trick.
00:20And what you would normally do is tuck it through the belt loop, tuck it into itself.
00:27As you can see, it's really long, so it goes almost halfway across my back.
00:31But basically, it's not very secure or really cute either.
00:35So here's the right way to do it.
00:36Because you know you're going to have a tail, you want to go towards the side and not have a
00:40hanging in the front because that looks weird.
00:43The trick is to tie your knot around a belt loop.
00:46So make sure that your buckle's on one side and then your extra slack is on one side.
00:49Go through the belt loop, go through the buckle, and then up and around.
00:57And then tighten.
01:00And then ta-da!
01:01There you have it.
01:02So the only types of belts that this does not work for are belts with a set number of notches.
01:06If you've got a braided belt, a ribbon belt, a belt like this, it looks great.
01:09But if you really want to make it work with a belt with a set number of notches, just go
01:13ahead and drill your own notch.
01:15Because otherwise you can't do this.
01:16Do it not work.
01:17Yeah.
