00:00On August 11th and 12th, 2017,
00:03white nationalists,
00:04neoconfederates,
00:05neo-Nazis,
00:05marched in Charlottesville, Virginia,
00:07members of the alt-right
00:08clash of counter-protesters
00:10killing Heather Heyer
00:11and injuring others,
00:12fighting against hate.
00:13The events shocked many
00:15and led to a reflection
00:16on just how prevalent
00:17racism and racial tension
00:18is in today's America.
00:20From slavery to New Crow
00:21to today,
00:22our society was built on a system
00:24that divides race and class.
00:27It's up to us to first acknowledge
00:29our nation's tainted history.
00:30Confront the system is a new place
00:32that led to this hideous
00:34display of hate.
00:35And continue to fight for change.
