00:00Pumpkins, leaves and flowers. These are just some of the creations Becky Jarman
00:06made for her and her new husband Jake's wedding day. After disappointment with
00:11their first wedding venue, Becky was inspired to take her passion for
00:15crocheting and bring it centre stage on their special day in Faversham.
00:19When I was at the back end of my maternity leave with my daughter, I was sick of time just
00:24sitting on my phone and playing games and just wasting my time.
00:27So I was like, I need to do something a bit more proactive, something a bit more
00:31enjoyable, something a bit more crafty and I came across an advert for crocheting and I was like, ah well
00:36boy, last five minutes, loved it.
00:38My nan taught me how to, well helped over the phone to do crocheting.
00:43Becky's grandmother Terry and mum Roxanne also helped out with the crafts and Terry spent over a year making something
00:50very special.
00:51I crocheted the flowers for the brides bouquet and also for the bridesmaids and so it was a combination of
01:03roses and lilies and
01:06and we were just blown away with the way the roses turned out. I mean they look, they look like
01:13they're real.
01:15For the family here, crocheting isn't just a hobby, it's a tradition that's been passed down through generations of their
01:23family
01:23and they're so pleased to see all of their creations on such a special day.
01:29Traditional crafts really have to be continued and to think that, you know, my family are actually doing that, that's
01:38a blessing really.
01:39I just feel proud that I managed to bring my vision of how my wedding will look like into reality
01:49and it's stunning.
01:50I'm so, so happy with it, like really happy with it.
01:53Unlike normal flowers which don't bloom forever, this bouquet will be a lasting memory for the couple.
