00:00Wolverine's real name is James Howlett.
00:02His origins were intentionally left vague for years after his first appearance,
00:07undergoing a couple of slight changes in the process.
00:11Initially, his retractable claws were assumed to be attached to his gloves.
00:15His original power set was limited to agility and healing ability.
00:19Over the years, it was revealed that the claws were a part of Wolverine,
00:24but the character remained in flux.
00:26There were rumors that Wolverine was originally an actual Wolverine,
00:30that had mutated enough to look and act human, though Wine denies these rumors.
00:35At one point, it was suggested that Wolverine's nemesis, Sabertooth, was intended to be his father,
00:42but a SHIELD-conducted DNA test proved that there is no relationship between Wolverine and Sabertooth.
00:50James Howlett, also known as Wolverine, first had his official backstory revealed
00:55in the six-issue series, Origins, written by Paul Jenkins.
00:59This story has been further explored in numerous comics.
