00:01Russian President Vladimir Putin is hosting dozens of African leaders at a summit in Moscow
00:06as part of efforts to expand its influence on the continent.
00:10He told delegates that Russia was Africa's best partner, calling for an end to Western domination.
00:16Putin accused it of still trying to exploit the continent's resources and using debt to hold back development.
00:25The era when the destinies of entire continents were determined by a narrow block of states is coming to an
00:31irreversible end.
00:32It's being replaced by a more just world, in which the voices of all nations participating in international affairs must
00:39be heard.
00:40Russia is trying to expand its political, economic and military influence in Africa, where its Africa core paramilitary fighters remain
00:48active.
00:48Putin said the continent is increasingly asserting itself as one of the key players in global economy and politics.
00:57Our country consistently advocates for a greater role for Africa in the governance and key decision-making processes of multilateral
01:05development institutions,
01:06most notably the IMF and the World Bank.
01:09Indeed, the time has come to reform these organizations and refocus them on the specific needs and requirements of developing
01:17economies.
01:20Delegations from 48 countries are attending this third two-day summit, including 22 African leaders who expressed support for stronger
01:29ties with Russia and contrasted its approach with that of the West.
01:39Africa is seeking partners to strengthen its capacity to generate its own wealth.
01:45We don't want to be consigned to exporting our raw materials, only to then import the finished products at a
01:53high cost.
01:53We want to be involved in their entire value chain, from production to marketing, so that the wealth created benefits
02:02our populations more effectively.
02:07More than 40 sessions are expected to cover trade, investment, technology transfer, food and energy security, healthcare, education and youth
02:17exchange.
02:17Good luck to our ребята in the world.
02:18Good luck to the world of Russia.
02:19Let's go to our first part of our national recommendation.
02:19We are now with local and public leaders.
