00:00Amid the ongoing federal investigation to his business empire and his sudden sale of the Lakers
00:04earlier this summer, plenty of people had wondered, is Mark Walter going to have to sell the Dodgers?
00:08Well, in an exclusive interview with the California Post this week, the Dodgers owner
00:12offered a definitive answer, saying that he was going to keep the team, quote,
00:16no matter what, in his first public comments on the situation.
00:19Walter's interview was a confirmation of things that team president Stan Kasten and president of
00:23baseball operations Andrew Friedman had said lately about things being business as usual with
00:27the Dodgers, even with all of the speculation surrounding their owner.
00:31Walter said he plans to not only continue owning the team, but to continue providing the same level
00:35of commitment and financial resources that he has over the last couple of seasons, and to continue
00:39the run of success that they've had over his 15-year tenure that includes three World Series,
00:44five NL pennants, and 13 NL West titles.
00:46Walter was also insistent that not only did the Lakers sale have nothing to do with the Dodgers,
00:51but that he wasn't actively trying to sell the Lakers. Instead, that he only made the decision
00:55after new owners Josh Kushner and Bob Iger came to him with a massive offer that he closed
01:00on within 72 hours back in August. Now, time will tell, of course, if Walter can fully follow
01:05through on all of his Dodger promises, but for now, he's adamant he's not selling the team
01:09no matter what. You can read our full interview with Walter, as well as all of our Dodgers coverage
