00:00:30The Warriors are now nine and one in the playoffs and in this world the series on display everything that's
00:00:35gotten them here the long lineup the dominant bullpen and nail biting win after nail biting win. Yeah do the
00:00:41same thing right. What we thought this series would come down to is the guys who had the most race
00:00:47runners who are going to put the most pressure would probably win. Well after two games the stats back it
00:00:53up. They've done everything you can do. Although be it win one run games they've had the most base runners
00:00:59the most base runners.
00:01:00All steals the most two out hits and the most runs. They just have to keep their foot on the
00:01:05gas and don't look back. By the way I can't even hear myself think this place is so loud. The
00:01:10Rays are hoping this is part of what gets them going because the opposite of the Brewers everything that got
00:01:15Tampa Bay here has deserted them so far.
00:01:17I've been a part of series that turns on a dime. You got to change the story. The problem is
00:01:22the story for the Rays is not what they've done all year. That story has to change. Here's what they
00:01:27did in the regular season. What's made them so special. One run games. Runners score. This is what's got to
00:01:33change. And it can turn on a dime. They love playing home. And that home sweet home can send them
00:01:38back to Milwaukee.
00:01:39And as this World Series has shown sometimes the best way to win is to go back to the basics.
00:01:45Comedian Adam Ray has the details and you can check out his countrywide tour and the Adam Ray show on
00:01:51Netflix. Take it away Adam.
00:01:55Welcome to baseball fundamentals. The proper way to win a ball game. The bunt. A gentle tap. A soft nudge.
00:02:05A polite suggestion to the baseball. Putting the ball in play. Notice how he doesn't try to hit it to
00:02:11the moon. He simply hits it where they ain't.
00:02:14Exactly what makes this series so unique. Don't use that. They've turned game two upside down. Deep right field. Goodbye.
00:02:26Yeah or just do that. And it's gone. Now look. Stealing is wrong. Unless it's on the baseball diamond. Then
00:02:32it's considered strategy. Runners take off. He's going. Not in time at a stolen base. You see the game hasn't
00:02:39changed as much as you think. The fundamentals. They never go out of style.
00:02:43Now. And when the stakes are this high. It's the little things that make the biggest difference. World Series game
00:02:49three.
00:02:55Listen. Welcome to the 2026 World Series on Fox. Presented by Capital One.
00:03:04It's game one of the World Series. Yellich.
00:03:07Davy and try but he can't get it. It's the captain striking first.
00:03:11Line. Off the glove and the shirt's done. It's 2-0 Roy.
00:03:15Throw to third. Contreras says.
00:03:18Uh-uh. Swing and a miss. He's struck him out.
00:03:21Game one belongs to the Roy.
00:03:23We are back in Milwaukee and all set for game two of the fall classic.
00:03:28Gone. And the Rays have a 4-0 lead in the first.
00:03:32South Freelich ties the game.
00:03:35It's served into line and it's Milwaukee in front.
00:03:38They've turned game two upside down.
00:03:41He went around.
00:03:42And the Brewers have a two-game lead in the World Series.
00:03:50So that's how we got here inside the drop-in St. Petersburg for game three of the fall classic
00:03:56that's going to produce a first-time champion.
00:03:58The Brewers striking first, winning both games in Milwaukee.
00:04:01The Rays take the field behind Freddy Peralta and Junior Camonero trying to strike back.
00:04:07It's time to make some noise and raise it for your Tampa Bay Rays.
00:04:16And let's take a look at the lineup that Freddy Peralta will face off with.
00:04:20Jackson Trurio leads things off.
00:04:22And then it's Jake Bowers batting second.
00:04:24Christian Yelich hits third.
00:04:25And heck, if it ain't broke, why fix it?
00:04:27It's the same lineup they have in the two games in Milwaukee.
00:04:30Contreras, Terang, and Mitchell.
00:04:32And then down at the bottom of the lineup, the guys that delivered in game two.
00:04:35Cooper Pratt, the go-ahead base hit in the seventh inning.
00:04:38And Sal Fribeck, the game-tying home run one inning before that.
00:04:41And David Hamilton wraps it up out of the ninth spot at third base.
00:04:45Let's go back to the top, though, of the leadoff guy.
00:04:47For more on Jackson Trurio, here's Tom Berducci.
00:04:50Oh, thanks, Joe.
00:04:51The lineup and most good things from Milwaukee begin with Jackson Trurio.
00:04:55He has driven in or scored almost 25% of their runs this postseason.
00:05:00And in the World Series, the 22-year-old has been historically good.
00:05:05He is the youngest player to begin the World Series with back-to-back multi-hit games since
00:05:12Mickey Mantle in 1951.
00:05:14And he is the youngest player with two hits and two stolen bases in a World Series game
00:05:19since Ty Cobb in 1908.
00:05:23Jackson Trurio is having an October for the ages.
00:05:28Now here's Ken Rosenthal.
00:05:30Thanks, Tom.
00:05:30It isn't often a 30-year-old pitcher starts scoring harder than ever before.
00:05:35But the Rays made a number of adjustments with Freddy Peralta after acquiring him from
00:05:39the Mets, wanting him to move faster down the mound, and also just keep going with his
00:05:44momentum.
00:05:45Now, Freddy Peralta, fastball Freddy.
00:05:48The overhaul worked.
00:05:50His average fastball velocities in his four postseason outings have been the highest of
00:05:54his career.
00:05:55Tonight, with the Rays desperate for a win, he faces the team that brought him to the
00:06:00majors, the team that is the best fastball-hitting club in the game.
00:06:04And with the Rays facing such a difficult task, they are prepared to use Nick Martinez in relief
00:06:12if necessary.
00:06:13He's their potential Game 5 starter.
00:06:15Joe?
00:06:15Johnny, been on that World Series mound before.
00:06:17What are you looking for from Freddy Peralta?
00:06:19Yeah, the biggest thing is he's got to set the tempo for his team, especially at home.
00:06:23I know you're down 2-0.
00:06:24Get the first pitch strikes.
00:06:26Get the leadoff batter.
00:06:27Limit three ball counts.
00:06:28Control non-competitive pitches.
00:06:30Bully the fastball and quick outs.
00:06:33That's it?
00:06:34That's it.
00:06:34Okay.
00:06:35But that's what Milwaukee presents.
00:06:37They provide you with problem after problem after problem.
00:06:41You've got to make Milwaukee beat you with hits.
00:06:44Game 3.
00:06:46Rays and Brewers.
00:06:47Off we go.
00:06:48And it almost hit him on the very first pitch.
00:06:52He's glancing over to the dugout, saying he might want to take a look at that.
00:06:57So much for the first pitch strike.
00:07:00It is, after all, just a ball, though.
00:07:05Freddy Peralta coming off an ALCS MVP performance.
00:07:08He started and won games two and game six.
00:07:12Pitched in relief in game four.
00:07:13Gave up just one run over 12 innings in those three games.
00:07:17And now sets his sights on his old team.
00:07:19Pitched eight seasons for Milwaukee.
00:07:21His 1-1 to Chilio.
00:07:23It is fouled off, and it's 1-2.
00:07:25When you're facing a good fastball-hitting team, you can't be afraid to throw in the fastball.
00:07:28I thought that was a mistake in game two, and they paid for it.
00:07:31Even with a four-run lead, he has to throw his fastball.
00:07:35The changeup is a weapon.
00:07:36He's going to throw a slow curveball, and that's how you break up the timing between the hitters,
00:07:40if they are on, or at least you think they're on your fastball.
00:07:44And these Brewers have just gotten starters out of the game so fast.
00:07:47Ten games in this postseason.
00:07:49Only one starter has completed five innings against him.
00:07:54One-two pitch.
00:07:56Just asked Drew Rasmussen, and he's what you're talking about.
00:07:58A guy who's got a good four-seam, one away from it, and only lasted three and two-thirds.
00:08:03Asked the reigning World Series MVP, Yamamoto, who didn't even get through three against Milwaukee.
00:08:10Cheerio.
00:08:11Quicks a line drive, base hit to start it.
00:08:14And you hear a roar, and you ask, didn't this series shift from Milwaukee down to Florida?
00:08:18Well, as expensive as a ticket as it was in Milwaukee, it's a lot cheaper to get a $500 flight,
00:08:25$500 hotel, $500 ticket.
00:08:27They have traveled well.
00:08:29Yeah, now here's the thing.
00:08:30You can't blink if you're Peralta.
00:08:32Even if this team scores a run in the first inning, you have to stay with your formula.
00:08:38You've got to be able to command your fastball, which, of course, is the key to beating any really good
00:08:43team.
00:08:44Cheerio, good speed.
00:08:45Peralta, not great at controlling the airman.
00:08:47He's got a strike on Jake Bowers.
00:08:49The biggest mistake pitchers make when their team is down is they feel like they've got to be perfect.
00:08:54You do not have to be perfect.
00:08:56If you get beat 2-1, 2-0, that's going to be on your offense, being able to step up
00:09:01and cover it.
00:09:08One-and-one on Jake Bowers, Milwaukee's best hitter during the regular season.
00:09:1226 home runs, second in the league, get on base for center.
00:09:17On this 1-1 pitch.
00:09:19Takes it high and away.
00:09:20They're the most patient team.
00:09:22There's so many good things about this Brewers team, but it all starts with that.
00:09:26And that's not great news for Freddie Peralta because he's not in the strike zone very much.
00:09:30He's not in his fastball bails him out along with that changeup, but you've got to have that fastball command.
00:09:36Speeds it by him 2-2.
00:09:38Because his changeup, which he overthrew the first one, his changeup is going to play off of that fastball.
00:09:46Fastball away the lefties, changeups away the lefties.
00:09:54Comes home with a 2-2, sticks for the course, and gets the strikeout.
00:10:05It's a great example of sticking with it.
00:10:07Hand behind the ball, fastball up, looks good to a hitter.
00:10:12Cannot come off that fastball at any point tonight.
00:10:16The Brewers fans know well when Freddie broke in, it was pretty much only fastball.
00:10:20They called him fastball Freddie.
00:10:22Here he comes to the Alex, who jumps on the first pitch, cheater.
00:10:25Popped down the line, no man's land, it's down!
00:10:29Christian Yelich finds the turf, first and second one away.
00:10:44Well, the Rays have had a few of these, but between the left fielder
00:10:51and Cam and Arrow, they collided in the last series.
00:10:53You can understand a little bit of an indecision between some of them.
00:10:59That was in the foul territory.
00:11:00This one was in fair play.
00:11:02The Brewers have now had 30 baserunners in two games and one inning,
00:11:07and this is the guy they wanted to play, William Contreras.
00:11:11His manager, Pat Murphy, said he is a monster on a mission at this point.
00:11:16Two hits and a run batted in in both games in Milwaukee.
00:11:20Three, three-ninety-five for the playoffs.
00:11:26Guy that is caught a bunch in Parata, delivers.
00:11:30A little bit inside.
00:11:31Challenge coming right away from Nick Fortes.
00:11:34This will be an interesting, the challenge will be whether or not that side of the plate is lenient.
00:11:41Wow, the Rays down a challenge in the first inning.
00:11:45So it's not lenient.
00:11:46They have information on all the umpires.
00:11:48It's almost impossible to be 100% for an umpire today.
00:11:51And so one side of the plate or the other will be where the misses are.
00:11:56And so far, that inside part of the plate, where the umpire is located,
00:12:00I've always said as a pitcher, when the umpire is located over the inside shoulder,
00:12:05closer to a right-handed hitter, you're not going to get leniency there.
00:12:09You'll probably get it away.
00:12:112-0.
00:12:132-1.
00:12:16And Contreras, I mean, always good, right?
00:12:19This is always an all-star level player, but he's gone to another level in these playoffs.
00:12:23The intensity's been amplified, and that's breathe life into the whole team.
00:12:30He's got Churio at second, Yelich at first.
00:12:332-1 from Peralta.
00:12:35Popped up.
00:12:37At short, Taylor Walls.
00:12:39Two out.
00:12:40A fly-rule in effect.
00:12:47Two on, two out, Bryce Terrain.
00:12:49This is a great test for Peralta.
00:12:53Obviously, you wanted a clean inning.
00:12:54You want one, two, threes, as many as you can.
00:12:56But coming off that loss, and coming here at home,
00:13:00and having first and second one out, you get out of that inning,
00:13:03it's a huge emotional jolt for your team and your offense to get on top.
00:13:10First one to Terrain is a curveball in the dirt for a ball.
00:13:14So many heroes in that game, too, for Milwaukee.
00:13:17Kind of forget about Terrain, who led off the seventh inning with a double,
00:13:20came in to score the winning run on Pratt's base hit.
00:13:25On base above 500 since the start of the championship series for Terrain.
00:13:30And he's good.
00:13:31He can take a fastball to left center as good as any left-handed hitter.
00:13:34See what he gets here.
00:13:35It's fastball away, and he's ahead 2-1-0.
00:13:43Ready for all to face these Brewers when he was with the Mets in July,
00:13:46gave up seven runs.
00:13:48Different guy, though, than was pitching for New York.
00:13:52More than a reinvention, a rediscovery of everything he did for the Brewers all those years.
00:13:57He's gone to 3-0 on Touring with Garrett Mitchell on deck.
00:14:07Strike one.
00:14:17Bullets single from Churio.
00:14:20Bloop single, Jalic.
00:14:22Bryce Twain here with two gone.
00:14:33Here's a 3-1.
00:14:35Takes a chance for a strike, and the count is full.
00:14:39That was a great changeup.
00:14:40His first couple he had really, really overthrown.
00:14:43That came out of his hands so good on a 3-1 pitch.
00:14:46Now he can throw any pitch he wants, because after coming back from the 3-0 count,
00:14:50the hitter's going, man, the lead back up another changeup.
00:14:54He goes fastball, Freddie on him, and Terrain spoils it to stay alive.
00:15:01This series, in a lot of ways, has turned down these two strike counts.
00:15:05The Brewers continue to win them.
00:15:06It's amazing.
00:15:07I mean, we've watched them.
00:15:08We've followed them the whole postseason.
00:15:10They don't blink.
00:15:12You're going to have to get them out by making really, really good pitches.
00:15:16And then he does.
00:15:17A changeup bounce to Taylor Rose, and he's scored his first inning for Freddie Peralta.
00:15:22The Rays come to bat against Robert Gasser when you come back.
00:15:29Well, the Rays going with a different-looking lineup today with the left-handed starting pitcher.
00:15:33It's at the top, but Ryan Vallee bats second, starts at first base instead of Jonathan Aranda.
00:15:38They're leader in hits in this series on the bench.
00:15:42Common arrow bats clean up.
00:15:43Ben Williamson's at second base, hitting fifth.
00:15:45Johnny DeLuca slides up a spot to hit sixth.
00:15:48Victor Mesa, one of our lefties in the lineup.
00:15:50Fortes gets his second start of the postseason.
00:15:53And Taylor Walls bats ninth and starts it short.
00:15:56And, John, it's not Ben Mizorowski or Henderson, but Robert Gasser that's been Milwaukee's best starter in the playoffs.
00:16:01Yeah, he's been fearless with the newfound two-seam fastball,
00:16:05and he's just filling up the strike zone and letting his defense work.
00:16:07There's the breakdown of the pitches, and I think what the Rays are trying to do
00:16:11is they're going to kind of bum-rush him with right-handed hitters
00:16:13and see if they can find something to crack the code.
00:16:16Diaz, the first ball, and he takes downstairs.
00:16:19Yandy Diaz led the American League and hits this season.
00:16:22He is 0 for 9 in this World Series, way more eager than you usually see.
00:16:27But it's not just Diaz.
00:16:28This entire lineup's been chasing like crazy.
00:16:33Now Gasser's going to try to pound the sinker into right-handed hitters.
00:16:36Now, if he gets it in, he'll get some weak contact.
00:16:39But if he leaves it over the plate, the couple right-handers that could do damage,
00:16:42obviously the man at the plate and the cleanup hitter, Camonero,
00:16:45put on a show in batting practice.
00:16:47We'll show you when he comes up a spot that he put on.
00:16:503-0 on Diaz.
00:16:55That check swing to end game two.
00:16:58He was adamant that he didn't go around.
00:16:59He had a pretty good case.
00:17:04Now they come here to Tropicana Field, where they have the best home record in baseball this year.
00:17:09Joe Carpenter is our lead audio man, has been for 31 years doing the World Series.
00:17:15He said this is the loudest his microphones have ever registered in the playoffs.
00:17:19And it's going to get a little louder right there.
00:17:21But the base hit of the center field, Yandy Diaz has his first of the World Series.
00:17:33Take a look at Fox Foresight.
00:17:35Bill with Gemini on Google Cloud.
00:17:37They led the majors with runners in scoring position during the regular season.
00:17:41They're just 3 for 20 in those situations in the World Series.
00:17:44They've made some outs on the bases, talking about them chasing way more than usual.
00:17:49Thanks to Google Cloud for these insights.
00:17:51You expect a different looking lineup tonight.
00:17:53Yeah, I do.
00:17:53I think this is a lineup that's going to be super focused.
00:17:58And they're going to try to win each at bat.
00:18:00Look, they got out of their formula.
00:18:02They swung the bat outside the zone more than we've ever seen this team do it.
00:18:06And sometimes you've got to have that come back to focus and say,
00:18:10okay, each pitch, each at bat, everyone do their job.
00:18:13They're going to try and play getting the start against the lefty.
00:18:16What do you think about this?
00:18:17You've got Jonathan Aranda, who's four for seven, benched.
00:18:20Yeah, I know.
00:18:21Sometimes this year we get so kind of information heavy and we go on the numbers.
00:18:25Yes, Gasser's really tough on left-handers.
00:18:28But you've got to consider your left-handers and who they are in your lineup.
00:18:32You kind of refrain.
00:18:34Refrain from taking them out.
00:18:35But when you're down 2-0, you do things that sometimes may not make the greatest sense,
00:18:42but you just hope it works.
00:18:48Lade has got a lot of power on this one-two pitch.
00:18:52Fouls it off and stays alive.
00:18:53They really wanted to get his bat into the lineup.
00:18:55And they've got a couple options to do that.
00:18:57It's either put him in the outfield and replace either Simpson or Diaz or Mesa, beg your pardon,
00:19:04or it's put him at first base and replace Aranda.
00:19:07And they wanted the best outfield defense they could have today with a fly ball pitcher in Freddy Peralta.
00:19:12And so it's Aranda that gets the short end of the stick.
00:19:16Well, if you're going to do that, you realize that if you beat the starter for the Brewers,
00:19:22meaning if you get the lead, you can stay away from the high-leverage bullpen.
00:19:26If you don't, that high leverage is coming in and has not shown no cracks.
00:19:31So that's why I think he's put this lineup together to try to beat the starter early in the game.
00:19:38Well, it sends a fly ball to right field, routine for Sal Freelich.
00:19:42And that's who has his first out.
00:19:47Nowadays, every manager and every team is so consumed with what comes out of the pen
00:19:51that you build your lineup for the nine innings.
00:19:55Instead of building your lineup for the four or five innings that the starter would be,
00:19:59I kind of get it.
00:19:59I understand the arms that are coming out.
00:20:01Yeah, and that's the other idea is that Aranda and Liam Hicks,
00:20:04the same thing, can be specific weapons against certain right-handed pitchers
00:20:07they may bring out, like Abner Uribe.
00:20:09Here's Chandler Simpson on the grass at third already.
00:20:14Hamilton as Simpson takes a strike at three hits, score two bases in Milwaukee.
00:20:19But for the most part, they contained him.
00:20:27Robert Gasser coming off five shutout innings at Dodger Stadium.
00:20:31In game three of the CS.
00:20:33Yes, it takes off on him in the count evens one-on-one.
00:20:36The interesting thing here, and I know, you know, this lineup construction,
00:20:40when you've got this fast of a guy batting third,
00:20:45but it takes away his speed when Diaz is at first.
00:20:52What I mean by that is, in any other era, Simpson would be a prototypical leadoff hitter,
00:20:58and so much so that I think next year he will be a leadoff hitter, I'm just guessing here,
00:21:02because now there's nobody to clog up the bases, and you can use his weapon on the bases.
00:21:08How about two tonight, right?
00:21:10Diaz likes to hit leadoff, but you have his bunting ability right after that.
00:21:13Yeah, on this one-two pitch, fouls it off and stays alive.
00:21:18Name of the game for Simpson, if you're just tuning in,
00:21:21catching on here on this Monday night, is speed.
00:21:24Back to ball and speed.
00:21:26Leighton, both of those, led the majors in stolen bases,
00:21:29and made more contact than anybody in the American League.
00:21:34Another one-two pitch from Gasser.
00:21:36Simpson.
00:21:37Browns one to short.
00:21:39Kratk goes to second one.
00:21:40Terrain to first.
00:21:42Only Simpson's going to beat out a ball hit that hard,
00:21:45and that straightaway to short.
00:21:47Fielder's choice two away.
00:21:50Nice bounce back for Gasser.
00:21:52He had four not-so-good pitches early on,
00:21:55and then Diaz got a first single,
00:21:58and he's come back to get the next two outs.
00:22:00And as you mentioned, the double play on anybody else.
00:22:04But here's the guy for the race.
00:22:07Yeah, I know with the small ball, the court shooting,
00:22:09not happening for Tampa Bay.
00:22:10You get the feeling that the thunder of the bat,
00:22:13a junior Camonero may be their best bet to get back.
00:22:29He was not just clearing the batter's eye in center field.
00:22:33He was put it up by the American flag there in left center.
00:22:36He was a little bit of a crazy exhibition.
00:22:40Simpson leaning at first.
00:22:42Another step.
00:22:44Not going.
00:22:45Good stuff by Contreras.
00:22:47Broken record saying that in these playoffs.
00:22:50Simpson just wants to make life miserable right now.
00:22:53I don't think he's actually going to steal with Camonero up there.
00:22:56I think they want to give him a chance to drive a ball and get to hit.
00:23:10He's the first guy in 30 years
00:23:13to steal a base in four consecutive playoff games.
00:23:16See here, here's how it's working.
00:23:19As two throws over the first with two outs.
00:23:22With a slugger at the plate.
00:23:24So he's already concerned himself more with Simpson than the slugger at the plate.
00:23:29Worry about his attention being split.
00:23:30And Monero fouls it off and the count evens up.
00:23:34And that's the beauty of speed on bases.
00:23:36That's what is Milwaukee's M.O.
00:23:39That is exactly what Tampa.
00:23:40Just Milwaukee's done it better.
00:23:42And they haven't even gotten going with their clutch hitting.
00:23:45I mean, they left, what, nine or ten.
00:23:48Runners left on in that game.
00:23:49They came back at one.
00:23:50There goes Simpson.
00:23:52Throw from Contreras.
00:23:53It is not in time.
00:23:55Did he keep the bag?
00:23:56He overslid it.
00:23:57It's the fifth out on the bases in three games
00:24:00in the World Series for Tampa Bay.
00:24:03And it ends this first inning.
00:24:06Terrain keeping the tag on.
00:24:08Simpson had it beat.
00:24:10This time his speed hurt him.
00:24:12Too fast.
00:24:14Over the bag.
00:24:16On to the second.
00:24:23First World Series games inside the Tropson's 2008.
00:24:27And you know that means we've got to learn about the rings.
00:24:29All right, so here's how it works.
00:24:30If a fair ball hits the A or B rings, it's a live ball.
00:24:34If it's the C or D rings, it's a home run.
00:24:36If a foul ball hits any of them, dead ball.
00:24:39And this comes into play a handful of times a year.
00:24:41It's already actually coming to play in the postseason.
00:24:43As Garrett Mitchell takes outside from Freddie Peralta for a ball.
00:24:46That's Spencer Jones of the Yankees.
00:24:49Hit one up there during the DS.
00:24:51But on your toes, the Brewers know a little something about balls hitting roofs in this playoff.
00:24:55Benefited from it at their home ballpark.
00:24:57And the DS one and one on Mitchell.
00:25:00After Peralta got out a two on and one out situation in the first.
00:25:23He's got a lot of swing and miss, but when he connects, it sure looks shorter, abbreviated swing and a
00:25:29follow-through.
00:25:30That's my turn, you know, Mitchell starting the second.
00:25:47They're going to high three and two.
00:25:50Those pitches we're talking about, they're going to add up and shorten the leash.
00:25:54When you pitch in a World Series game, every lead off batter has got to be like the last out
00:25:58in the ninth inning.
00:26:00Субтитры делал DimaTorzok.
00:26:02We asked Kevin Cash today what
00:26:04is the toughest thing about
00:26:05this Milwaukee lineup so far.
00:26:07He said the word length in a
00:26:08couple ways the length of the
00:26:10lineup there's Charno breaks but
00:26:11then the length of the at bats.
00:26:13And the pitchers are out of
00:26:14there faster than he wants him.
00:26:17Domino effect of that on the
00:26:18bullpen that is not deep has
00:26:20been profound.
00:26:25Peralta not a guy even when he's
00:26:27at his best it typically goes
00:26:28very deep in the game.
00:26:29He's only gone more than six
00:26:31innings twice this year.
00:26:34Fires another payoff and he walks
00:26:37in to open the second.
00:26:38Here's why I say that Joe about
00:26:40the lead off hitter.
00:26:41You get the lead off hitter out
00:26:43obviously the numbers go way
00:26:44down and we got numbers that
00:26:45back back up when the lead off
00:26:47hitter gets on.
00:26:48But if you can get the lead off
00:26:49hitter out even if the next guy
00:26:51gets on then you're always one
00:26:52pitch away from getting out of
00:26:54the inning with double play.
00:26:55It just creates a bigger rally
00:26:57and a momentum for the team at the
00:26:59plate because you gave him a free
00:27:01pass.
00:27:02And they've had the lead off man
00:27:03on in more than half of the
00:27:04innings in this series.
00:27:06Change for a strike on Pratt.
00:27:07That's probably because they get
00:27:09the lead off guy on.
00:27:09It's not just the pressure it
00:27:11typically ends in a run or two.
00:27:14Cooper Pratt read the air in the
00:27:17first inning of game two seven
00:27:18innings later was the hero.
00:27:20One two pitch.
00:27:22Go ahead hit.
00:27:24Win that game five before Pat
00:27:26Murphy glowed when he asked him
00:27:28about Pratt and that at that he
00:27:29said it was just beautiful.
00:27:31I'm sure the young man has a lot
00:27:33of things speeding up early in
00:27:34the postseason and it slowed
00:27:36back down.
00:27:37He's three for three.
00:27:38On the Peralta Peralta was with
00:27:41the Mets.
00:27:43Two of those hits.
00:27:44We're going to be on breaking
00:27:45balls.
00:27:46I highly doubt you're going to
00:27:47see a breaking ball.
00:27:48One of them his first career
00:27:50home run against Peralta.
00:27:52Swipes out on three pitches this
00:27:54time the change up disappeared.
00:28:04Well this the changes they've
00:28:06made of course with nobody on
00:28:07he's had a wind up with the
00:28:09Mets nobody on he's got the
00:28:11stretch with the raise but the
00:28:14and getting down out over the
00:28:16rubber and extension has really
00:28:18helped.
00:28:19Backdoor for a strike down
00:28:20Freelich.
00:28:21It's allowed his fastball
00:28:22velocity to go off.
00:28:23It's allowed his change up to
00:28:24be used more and that arm
00:28:26angle works great when he
00:28:28doesn't have as many moving
00:28:29parts in his lover.
00:28:34I think it's been a little bit
00:28:35overblown the raise quote
00:28:37unquote fixing him.
00:28:38I mean it helped him get back
00:28:39to what he's done his entire
00:28:40career that extension we're
00:28:42talking about is what he's
00:28:43always been known for.
00:28:44He's not big but.
00:28:46Releases the ball really close
00:28:47to home plate with that
00:28:48explosive delivery when he's
00:28:50right.
00:28:53Did have the throws change up
00:28:54more they do that with
00:28:55everybody that they get.
00:28:56They throw more change ups than
00:28:58any staff on record this year.
00:29:00And what it snowballed into is
00:29:01that he started to believe in
00:29:03himself again that confidence
00:29:04is back.
00:29:07gives his one one to Freeland.
00:29:10And it's two and one on Freeland.
00:29:15Well he's always had a live arm
00:29:17and his release point is the
00:29:18key right.
00:29:19If you can get your hand out and
00:29:21you can get on time with that
00:29:22front foot.
00:29:23You're going to be throwing
00:29:25pitches in the more desired
00:29:27area.
00:29:28Felix sends a deep drive towards
00:29:30the right field corner.
00:29:31Simpson's over.
00:29:31Short.
00:29:32Oh.
00:29:34Superman play.
00:29:36Chandler Simpson.
00:29:37And the game's biggest stage.
00:29:58When you're this fast you don't
00:30:00have this much time to stop.
00:30:02And the wall stopped.
00:30:03And he had one step and hit the
00:30:07wall.
00:30:08And then try to get up to his
00:30:09feet as quickly as he could.
00:30:11He slipped a couple times.
00:30:12What a great play.
00:30:15Run saving play.
00:30:18We always think about game
00:30:19changing plays being that big
00:30:21swing.
00:30:22Who's going to give them that.
00:30:23The Rays are different and
00:30:25maybe we should think of that
00:30:26whole equation differently.
00:30:27Perhaps it's a defensive play
00:30:29that changes the tide of the
00:30:30World Series form.
00:30:31Perhaps it's Chandler Simpson.
00:30:34Went from one of the worst
00:30:35fielders in the sport as a
00:30:36rookie to a gold glove finalist
00:30:38in his second year.
00:30:39And he's never made a play
00:30:40quite like this.
00:30:41Well this is full speed.
00:30:42There is no tomorrow on this
00:30:44one right here.
00:30:45There's no putting on the
00:30:46brakes.
00:30:46He jumps.
00:30:47And hits the wall.
00:30:49That's an athletic.
00:30:52Young man to get up.
00:30:53Not too many guys to get up off
00:30:54that wall feeling like.
00:30:57But now here goes Peralta to 2-0
00:30:59on the 9-0 Hamilton.
00:31:01So Friedrich man who hit his
00:31:02first home run in a few months
00:31:04in game two gave it a ride to
00:31:05the shortest part of the yard
00:31:06right there but got robbed.
00:31:122-0 his feet were so fast that
00:31:17when he tried to get back up.
00:31:18Watch this.
00:31:19Okay.
00:31:20I'm gonna get no.
00:31:21I'm gonna get no.
00:31:24Feet are going too fast for his
00:31:25body.
00:31:26That turf.
00:31:27Even though it's Brown.
00:31:30There goes Mitchell.
00:31:31From first.
00:31:32Throw down from Fortez.
00:31:34On the dime ending over.
00:31:36Tampa Bay's defense rises.
00:31:40No score in game three.
00:31:51Tonight's telecast is sponsored
00:31:53by T-Mobile.
00:31:54Stay connected to America's
00:31:55best with T-Mobile.
00:31:57And by Progressive Insurance a
00:31:59grand slam for your budget.
00:32:01Chandler Simpson was an
00:32:02infielder in college.
00:32:04Last year the outfield defense
00:32:05was so bad that he went down to
00:32:07Triple-A for a while to work
00:32:08on it.
00:32:09Incredible play.
00:32:10A year where he's worked so
00:32:11hard on it.
00:32:12And then the clock stealing
00:32:14finishes off the inning and
00:32:15sends it to the bottom of the
00:32:16second.
00:32:19Coming arrows up there as he
00:32:21was when the first inning
00:32:22that it was Sipson getting
00:32:23caught trying to steal second.
00:32:26I'm an arrow two for seven in
00:32:28this World Series.
00:32:31Robert Gasser.
00:32:33Comes home.
00:32:34I'm an arrow.
00:32:35Flips it in the air off the
00:32:36end of the bat.
00:32:37Gasser can breathe a sigh of
00:32:38relief.
00:32:39Get him on the first pitch.
00:32:45Nothing better than a one pitch
00:32:47out the second baseman at any
00:32:48time get along in the World
00:32:50Series.
00:32:51The twenty seven year old from
00:32:53El Dorado Hills California
00:32:54who's drafted by the Padres and
00:32:57then acquired in the Josh Hader
00:32:58trade in 2022.
00:32:59So many of those trades the
00:33:01Brewers have had to make.
00:33:02They hurt bad when they make
00:33:04them.
00:33:04But validation down the road on
00:33:06a night like this.
00:33:08Ben Williamson takes down the
00:33:11hard first right.
00:33:13The Williamson all the way up to
00:33:15the five spot today even though
00:33:16he's just one for twelve in
00:33:17these playoffs.
00:33:19Stack in the right he's up there.
00:33:40Gasser's one one poked a second
00:33:44snare by terrain slick play to
00:33:46out down to Ken Rosenthal who's
00:33:49got Chandler Simpson.
00:33:51Thanks Joe.
00:33:51Chandler spectacular catch off the
00:33:54bat.
00:33:54What did you see.
00:33:55Yeah that it was tailored towards
00:33:57the wall.
00:33:57I knew I was going to have to make
00:33:58a leaping catch.
00:33:59We'll try to get a glove on it
00:34:01and I'm glad I was able to
00:34:02corral it in.
00:34:03How did it feel hitting the
00:34:04wall?
00:34:05It didn't feel too good but I
00:34:06mean it felt a little better
00:34:07now that I know I made the
00:34:08catch.
00:34:08Chandler thanks a lot.
00:34:10Joe back to you.
00:34:11Yeah it doesn't hurt as bad
00:34:12when it's in your glove after.
00:34:14Two up and two down.
00:34:16Yeah now Johnny DeLuca.
00:34:18Flips one into center field hangs
00:34:20up for Mitchell and a lightning
00:34:21quick second inning just five
00:34:23pitches for Robert Gasser.
00:34:31Welcome back to Tropicana
00:34:33Field with Brewers manager Pat
00:34:35Murphy Murphy no runs on the
00:34:36board but you're off to throw
00:34:37forty pitches in the first two
00:34:39winnings.
00:34:39What do you like about the
00:34:40approach.
00:34:41Well I thought we were doing a
00:34:42pretty good job of laying off
00:34:43we've we've swinging a couple
00:34:45pitches out of the zone but
00:34:46pretty much made him throw
00:34:48strikes.
00:34:49Yeah I don't like getting thrown
00:34:51out right there it's not the
00:34:51time but anyways yeah I think
00:34:54we're trying our hardest he's
00:34:55throwing the ball great
00:34:56Freddie's Freddie's got a
00:34:57great fastball.
00:34:59Robert Gasser making his third
00:35:00straight postseason start on
00:35:01the road he looks calm what
00:35:03do you see early on.
00:35:04Yeah I mean they've hit a
00:35:05couple balls hard off him I
00:35:06think he's got to get
00:35:07comfortable on his change up in
00:35:08his two seamer and then back
00:35:10door is cutter and be able to
00:35:11establish the bounty in her
00:35:12half maybe even in off to some
00:35:14of those good righties.
00:35:15Thanks Mark.
00:35:17Hamilton sought off right here
00:35:18for all three tires and for the
00:35:20first out of the third and the
00:35:21more quick outs he can get the
00:35:22better for Tampa Bay.
00:35:23Yeah absolutely I mean it's
00:35:25not as easy as it's just
00:35:26throwing the first hits down
00:35:27the middle you don't you don't
00:35:28want to do that but you want
00:35:29to stay in competitive counts
00:35:31so that you don't have to work
00:35:32so hard against this deep
00:35:33lineup.
00:35:34Back to the top Jackson
00:35:36Cheerio.
00:35:42He's got three consecutive
00:35:47multi hit games to start the
00:35:49fall classic.
00:35:52Amazing Jackson Cheerio.
00:35:55Yeah breaking ball he's been
00:35:57hitterish now and when a guy's
00:35:59hitterish you got to you got to
00:36:00make sure that ball's down down
00:36:01the middle and he's seeing it
00:36:04good and he's getting the
00:36:05results.
00:36:11started preparing for the big stage
00:36:12as a 17 year old playing in
00:36:14Venezuela in the winter league
00:36:16championship games.
00:36:17Those raucous environments.
00:36:20Bowers comes up.
00:36:22If there's something in a name.
00:36:24Then consider this his dad is a
00:36:26big basketball fan and so he
00:36:28gave all of his son's middle
00:36:29names with a nod to an NBA
00:36:31star.
00:36:31He's got a brother whose middle
00:36:32name is O'Neill.
00:36:34He's got one.
00:36:36That's Jackson.
00:36:38Brian.
00:36:39Cheerio.
00:36:39With a nod to Kobe.
00:36:41As clutch of an athlete as
00:36:43there's ever been.
00:36:52One over the Bowers.
00:36:54Ball two.
00:37:25He's got that 3 0 green light on
00:37:28a fastball.
00:37:33He took it and fouled it off.
00:37:36It's a little too high for him
00:37:38to connect with.
00:37:43If you've got a good feel for
00:37:45that change up this would be the
00:37:463 1 change up.
00:37:50If you get your ground ball.
00:37:52Instead of fastball misses in
00:37:54that's ball for the bruiser at
00:37:56first and second with one away.

00:38:05Pick up your minds Polly Market.
00:38:09I'm not so sure that might not
00:38:10have been a strike.
00:38:11As bad as he.
00:38:15I don't think I crossed up.
00:38:18Certainly didn't help before
00:38:19Tes didn't catch it.
00:38:20I think it might have been a
00:38:21little bit off.
00:38:22A little bit off.
00:38:23You don't usually see.
00:38:25Yeah it was off.
00:38:27OK.
00:38:27Went almost to his glove.
00:38:32And again they've already used
00:38:33one challenge.
00:38:34Not that they would have wanted
00:38:35to right there.
00:38:37Wow.
00:38:37You did not see that very often.
00:38:39Unless the strings break.
00:38:41Kyle Snyder's out for a visit with
00:38:42Peralta.
00:38:43Brewers putting the pressure on
00:38:44again.
00:38:45Cheery over the single.
00:38:46Bowers with a walk.
00:38:47And here is the guy that Pat
00:38:48Murphy told us a couple of hours
00:38:50ago be his vote.
00:38:51As the pick to click in his
00:38:52lineup against Peralta.
00:38:53Yeah.
00:38:54And the biggest thing is because
00:38:56he's pretty good at off speed and
00:38:57staying on those pitches right.
00:38:59An off speed pitch in the zone.
00:39:01That's that's that's a band of
00:39:02Yellich.
00:39:03But I think the big thing again.
00:39:05Fastball command.
00:39:06We keep saying that fastball
00:39:07command getting that.
00:39:09Fastball anywhere close to the
00:39:11plate.
00:39:11He has not given up.
00:39:13He has not given up.
00:39:17Delicida blue pit his first time
00:39:19hit it all three games in his
00:39:20first World Series.
00:39:39Jams one left side.
00:39:40That's a base hitter.
00:39:41Cheerio read it beautifully.
00:39:43Milwaukee's on the board first.
00:39:45The captain delivers one to
00:39:47nothing.
00:39:48Brewers.
00:39:58Again.
00:40:00Walks.
00:40:01Will haunt you.
00:40:02And this is not hit hard at all.
00:40:04Matter of fact the bat.
00:40:06Ball almost stays on the bat.
00:40:08He just hits it perfectly.
00:40:12Over the infield and enough to
00:40:14where you that you talked about
00:40:15the read was fantastic.
00:40:18The cheerio.
00:40:22Here's the bottom of the order in
00:40:23game two.
00:40:24It's the top of the order so far in
00:40:25game three.
00:40:26It's control.
00:40:28Hacking one down the line.
00:40:29Long run from Mesa.
00:40:30Not going to get there.
00:40:31This time they had to be sure.
00:40:33Mesa juggled the ball.
00:40:35Throw goes to second.
00:40:36They'll get Contreras.
00:40:37But Milwaukee gets the run.
00:40:39Two to nothing as Bowers scores.
00:40:42He was stopping at third.
00:40:44But Mesa couldn't get it cleanly.
00:40:50Pretty sure this ball had some
00:40:51funky spin and he was trying to
00:40:53get it and look where the
00:40:54runners were going.
00:40:56Not as good a read at second
00:40:58base but not enough speed at
00:41:00second base with Bowers.
00:41:01This ball spinning away.
00:41:03And when it hits the turf.
00:41:05Well we can't see it there.
00:41:06We can see where he stops and
00:41:07then starts.
00:41:10That ball just clanks off his
00:41:12glove.
00:41:13And Contreras drew the throw.
00:41:15If he only knew.
00:41:17That he didn't need to draw and
00:41:18throw the foot to second.
00:41:20But all good.
00:41:20And the two run lead for the
00:41:22Brewers.
00:41:23And terrain.
00:41:27You just cannot get these guys
00:41:30extra out.
00:41:31Too good.
00:41:33Margins too slim.
00:41:41The other two third two out.
00:41:43Bryce terrain.
00:41:44Grounds all over the mound.
00:41:46It's second Williamson.
00:41:48Throws in time down the inning.
00:41:50But the Brewers start first in
00:41:52game three as they try to move
00:41:53to within one win of the world
00:41:55championship.
00:41:57What a roller coaster for this
00:41:59Rays defense.
00:42:11Yelichan Contreras knocking in runs
00:42:13for Milwaukee.
00:42:14They lead two to nothing to the
00:42:15bottom of the third.
00:42:16And Victor Jr.
00:42:17trying to atone for that error.
00:42:19That led to the second run.
00:42:21Bottom of the order here against
00:42:23Robert Gasser who's doing it
00:42:25again.
00:42:25Yeah.
00:42:25He's doing it again.
00:42:26He's filling up the strike zone.
00:42:27He's got that unique arm angle
00:42:29the sinker.
00:42:29The cutter.
00:42:30That was the curve ball there
00:42:31and his change up yet really to
00:42:33get going.
00:42:34He's fearless and he he knows
00:42:36he's got to use this defense
00:42:37not to be a high strikeout
00:42:38total guy.
00:42:44Mesa strokes one in the air to
00:42:46center field.
00:42:47Mitchell's there.
00:42:48And he's laying down that sinker
00:42:50more and more throwing that
00:42:51more than half of the time in
00:42:52the postseason.
00:42:53It was about twenty percent
00:42:54during the regular season.
00:42:55But Pat Murphy said to him look
00:42:56man this stuff's not that great
00:42:59swing and miss stuff.
00:43:00Trust your defense behind you.
00:43:02And the best way to do that is
00:43:03the sinker to invite the weak
00:43:04contact.
00:43:05Yeah absolutely.
00:43:05And then move it around if you
00:43:07can and get it into right
00:43:08handers.
00:43:08That's what he likes to do is
00:43:09get into right handed hitters
00:43:11and then create some space for
00:43:13that change up away.
00:43:16Nick Fortes getting just his
00:43:18second start of the postseason
00:43:19over Liam Hicks.
00:43:20So it's not just a Rondo who
00:43:22was four for seven getting
00:43:23benched.
00:43:24It's Hicks who's knocked in
00:43:25four through six runs also on
00:43:27the bench against the left
00:43:28hander.
00:43:37And quite a last forty eight
00:43:39hours for Nick Fortes Ken
00:43:41Rosenthal.
00:43:41It sure has Joe.
00:43:43His wife gave birth to a baby
00:43:44girl yesterday and he had to
00:43:46scramble to get home.
00:43:47He took a car from Milwaukee to
00:43:49Chicago then a Southwest flight
00:43:51to Fort Lauderdale got home to
00:43:53see his wife and newborn and
00:43:55then today drove across the
00:43:57state.
00:43:57Didn't get to the top until 2 30
00:43:59p.m.
00:44:00So we're either going to see a
00:44:01spectacular display of dad's
00:44:03strength or an exhausted
00:44:05father.
00:44:06Takes one just off of the plate
00:44:08here.
00:44:09Congratulations to Nick his
00:44:10wife Jessica baby Noah.
00:44:12Born yesterday.
00:44:18Cortez that they got at the
00:44:19deadline last year from Miami.
00:44:24Smacks on the second takes a
00:44:25tough hop but terrain makes the
00:44:28adjustment to.
00:44:31There you go trust in that
00:44:33defense get the ball on the
00:44:34ground and let them work.
00:44:35Yeah again.
00:44:37I know why the arms are the way
00:44:41they are and they throw 98 and
00:44:43they got tremendous stuff and
00:44:44swing and miss I know it's what
00:44:45everyone's looking for but I'm
00:44:47telling you if you throw the
00:44:48ball where you want to you
00:44:50still can get the results and
00:44:53get outs especially with this
00:44:55defense and he ought to be
00:44:56smiling knowing he's got those
00:44:57guys behind it.
00:44:58Here's walls are two.
00:45:00Robert Gasser who they say it's
00:45:02taken some time for him to
00:45:03believe in himself to believe
00:45:04that he can do it at this
00:45:05level.
00:45:06Well you better start believing
00:45:08because all he's done is going
00:45:09to Petco Park Dodger Stadium and
00:45:12now rocking Tropicana Field and
00:45:14thrown 12 innings and giving up
00:45:16just one.
00:45:18Believe it man you belong.
00:45:31Guessers 1 1.
00:45:33A little low challenge from
00:45:35Contreras no hesitation and the
00:45:36home plate home fire Nick
00:45:37Lynch is making sure that's what
00:45:39that was.
00:45:39Call the ball.
00:45:41There's just no need for it.
00:45:42Right here.
00:45:43I know he's really good at it.
00:45:44You're up to nothing.
00:45:46But if he's not sure.
00:45:48Yeah but even if he's that
00:45:49sure.
00:45:49I mean you're up to nothing.
00:45:53And there's no stress.
00:45:57A.B.S. powered by T-Mobile's
00:45:58network.
00:46:00He is good at it.
00:46:01It's been an advantage for him
00:46:03in this series.
00:46:03Rays don't challenge at all at
00:46:05the plate.
00:46:06And the catchers haven't been
00:46:07particularly effective with it.
00:46:12two and two on the nine hitter
00:46:13walls.
00:46:17Milwaukee's offense just leans on
00:46:19you.
00:46:20And then the pitching once the
00:46:22offense breaks through.
00:46:24Doesn't let up.
00:46:26Opponents have not scored 21
00:46:28consecutive innings after the
00:46:30There's a shut down innings and
00:46:32there's another for Gasser who's
00:46:33faced the minimum through three.

00:46:46Two for the Brewers in the third
00:46:47on to the fourth we go.
00:46:49We lead this World Series two
00:46:51games to none.
00:46:52Mitchell Pratt and Freelich six
00:46:54seven and eight.
00:46:55Strike one and a good change
00:46:56from Peralta.
00:46:59Walk first time for Mitchell.
00:47:02Two walks five singles in this
00:47:04game.
00:47:05Haven't hit the ball particularly
00:47:06hard but it found some holes.
00:47:11That's the pitch he's got to get
00:47:13going with fastball.
00:47:14We talked about he's hitting
00:47:15about sixty percent sixty six
00:47:17percent strike for the fastball
00:47:18but coming into the setting
00:47:20he was under forty percent.
00:47:22On his off speed.
00:47:24It's going to really good
00:47:26change ups to start this inning.
00:47:31on three pitches back to that
00:47:34force in to finish him off.
00:47:51Third K for Peralta.
00:47:55One of them came against this guy
00:47:56Cooper Pratt.
00:48:00Check down the first no swing.
00:48:02Ready for all to second in
00:48:04Milwaukee Brewers history and
00:48:06strikeouts only Ben Sheets has
00:48:07more recently as last year led
00:48:10the league in wins.
00:48:11Plus he was everybody's favorite
00:48:13guy.
00:48:14Kind of trade though that they've
00:48:16had to make.
00:48:16He's a free agent at the end of
00:48:17this year.
00:48:19Delton to the Mets.
00:48:22Disaster in New York at a five
00:48:23ERA.
00:48:24The Rays pick him up.
00:48:26And struggled in his first month
00:48:27at Tampa Bay as well.
00:48:28But his last ten starts.
00:48:30ERA is below one.
00:48:32Tampa Bay has not lost.
00:48:37He's been really really good.
00:48:40There's no better guy really.
00:48:42Even at two nothing right here.
00:48:43There's no better guy for the
00:48:44race.
00:48:45We're going to get back in the
00:48:46series.
00:48:47They got to write his right his
00:48:48right arm.
00:48:49And the offense is going to have
00:48:50to wake up.
00:49:03Back to back strikeouts.
00:49:05Uses the breaking ball to get
00:49:07Pratt.
00:49:08Starting to rack up those kids
00:49:10like Brewers fans remember him
00:49:12doing in his debut.
00:49:13Routing performance sponsored
00:49:14by Capital One.
00:49:15This is on Mother's Day 2018.
00:49:18He struck out 13 Rockies.
00:49:20You better miss some barrels
00:49:21when you're pitching in that
00:49:22ballpark.
00:49:23And he went in there and got
00:49:25those 13 K's what is still a
00:49:27career high.
00:49:28Two up and two down.
00:49:30Ball on Freelich.
00:49:37Gave it a ride his first time.
00:49:39We're hitting his first home
00:49:40run in a few months in game
00:49:41two.
00:49:42Drove it down in that left field
00:49:43corner.
00:49:44And got left by Simpson.
00:49:47Pat Murphy said some of the
00:49:49numbers are telling us that we
00:49:50shouldn't play Sal Freelich in
00:49:52this game.
00:49:52He said are you kidding me.
00:49:54He's playing for me.
00:49:56Get rid of that piece of
00:49:57paper.
00:49:59Pope the left Simpson again.
00:50:02One, two, three.
00:50:03Fourth inning for Freddy Peralta.
00:50:12Back to Tropicana Field here with
00:50:14Rays manager Kevin Cash.
00:50:16Kevin, Robert Gasser back on the
00:50:17mound for the Brewers.
00:50:18What do you guys need to do to
00:50:20counter the way he's pitching?
00:50:22Well, we got to slow him down a
00:50:23little bit.
00:50:23He's in sync right now.
00:50:24He's got a quick arm with good
00:50:26stuff, late action.
00:50:27I like that we hit some balls
00:50:28hard.
00:50:28We got to get him in the air a
00:50:29little bit.
00:50:30Freddy Peralta, really quick
00:50:31inning, that last one.
00:50:33What do you see?
00:50:34Definitely his best inning at
00:50:35work.
00:50:35I think he was kind of just, you
00:50:37know, over, over, over amped,
00:50:39but settled in.
00:50:40That was a big inning.
00:50:41Hopefully we can build off that.
00:50:42Kevin, thanks a lot.
00:50:43All right.
00:50:44Johnny Diaz pops up the first
00:50:45pitch of the fourth and we
00:50:47didn't have time to say how
00:50:48important this inning is for
00:50:49him or the big dogs coming up
00:50:50in that bullpen lumen.
00:50:51Yeah, this is this is a must
00:50:53score inning for the Rays.
00:50:56And the reason is it's not
00:50:59out of the realm for the
00:51:02Brewers to go from the fifth
00:51:04inning on with their bullpen.
00:51:05It's as good as he's going.
00:51:06I mean, I know they're up 2-0
00:51:08and you would think they have
00:51:09some rope and they're not
00:51:11going to play around.
00:51:12That's what they've done all
00:51:13season.
00:51:14Bullpen has averaged five
00:51:15innings per game.
00:51:18Ryan Valade.
00:51:23He flied out his first time.
00:51:25I'm afraid in the playoffs.
00:51:26Lone hit was a home run.
00:51:28Pat Murphy was ready to be just
00:51:30as aggressive as he has been.
00:51:32Up to this point in the
00:51:33playoffs even though this is a
00:51:34chance that it's the first
00:51:35time they'll have to play
00:51:36three games in as many days.
00:51:41He continues to say, oh, I'm
00:51:43thinking of this one day at a
00:51:46time.
00:51:46They have tight compartments.
00:51:48What do I got to do to win
00:51:50today?
00:51:52At this point, that's right,
00:51:53Gasser.
00:51:53Yeah, he's he's got the hottest
00:51:55arms in the league right now on
00:52:00his pen and Gasser has been
00:52:02proving all postseason that
00:52:06this is not a fluke, right?
00:52:08This is not.
00:52:08I mean, all the star power and
00:52:10Mizorowski and Henderson get all
00:52:12the headlines, but this guy's
00:52:16done and shut everybody down.
00:52:20comes home with a one two very
00:52:22high over the fastball.
00:52:24Made it to the majors a couple
00:52:25of years back and right after a
00:52:27successful start, he injured
00:52:28his elbow and had to undergo
00:52:30Tommy John surgery, so missed
00:52:31most of the last two years.
00:52:40Oh, challenge from Contreras
00:52:42on one that was right at the
00:52:44bottom of the zone.
00:52:45Did he get it?
00:52:51He did.
00:52:53He did.
00:52:53For strike three.
00:52:55Impacted the game in so many
00:52:57ways, big and small.
00:53:12I don't think a lot of people
00:53:14thought it was going to work.
00:53:16out, but he knew it.
00:53:18Five out of seven in this world
00:53:19series for Contreras.
00:53:23Unconscious and everything he's
00:53:24doing.
00:53:25Zero hesitation.
00:53:27Leaping instinctively.
00:53:30Want to know on Simpson.
00:53:35Robert Gasser through three and
00:53:36two thirds on just 42 pitches.
00:53:46started the season in spring
00:53:47training.
00:53:49The minors after spring training
00:53:51did Gasser.
00:53:52And then came up and had a five
00:53:54ERA after a couple of months.
00:53:56But since the all star break,
00:53:57he's been locked in.
00:54:02He's about to the second routine
00:54:04for two.
00:54:05And the quieting for Robert Gasser.
00:54:08Back afterward from your local
00:54:09Fox station.

00:54:25What's in your wallet?
00:54:27Third credit for the Rays.
00:54:29Lost to the Phillies in 08.
00:54:31Lost to the Dodgers in 2020.
00:54:33Down two games to none to the
00:54:34Brewers here in 2026 and down to
00:54:36nothing in game three.
00:54:37Nine one and two for Milwaukee.
00:54:39It's Hamilton leading off
00:54:40against Peralta.
00:54:47Well we talked about.
00:54:48Every team has home field
00:54:50advantage.
00:54:50And whatever team flexes their
00:54:52muscles and whatever their
00:54:53strength is.
00:54:54The Rays are going to have to
00:54:55beat their bullpen at some point.
00:54:57And it might very well start
00:54:58tonight.
00:55:00And.
00:55:01When anyone who hasn't played the
00:55:03game you say what are you
00:55:03talking about.
00:55:04Two nothing in the fifth inning.
00:55:06Well it's.
00:55:06When somebody has dominated and
00:55:08willingly go to their pen at
00:55:11leverage situations.
00:55:12It gets late early.
00:55:14It gets late early.
00:55:15You start counting outs and that
00:55:17is the worst feeling and the
00:55:19worst side to be on.
00:55:22We have those.
00:55:24Too many issues with facing the
00:55:26Yankees and Mario Rivera was
00:55:28that guy.
00:55:29He's like oh.
00:55:31Three more outs to Mariano
00:55:32Rivera.
00:55:33And so.
00:55:34That's the.
00:55:34That's the leverage.
00:55:37Besides all the other things.
00:55:38But that's the leverage.
00:55:40Milwaukee creates.
00:55:42Hamilton.
00:55:42Jackson.
00:55:43Leaping.
00:55:45By Junior Caminero.
00:55:47Slapped it left side and
00:55:48Caminero hovered up there.
00:55:50Take it away.
00:55:51One away.
00:56:04He'll try to steal a page out of
00:56:06Simpsons.
00:56:07To strike approach.
00:56:09One.
00:56:12Gone.
00:56:13But it's up in cheerio late in a
00:56:14fastball.
00:56:15Look at Caminero's catch.
00:56:19A whole lot better over there.
00:56:21Third this season.
00:56:22Extra work.
00:56:23Not sure he's out there working
00:56:24on plays like that but.
00:56:28Try to retire cheerio for the
00:56:29first time in this game.
00:56:31Two more hits he's become the
00:56:32youngest player in World Series
00:56:34history.
00:56:34It started off with three
00:56:36consecutive multi hit games.
00:56:4222 year old from Venezuela.
00:56:45Strokes another in the right
00:56:46center field Jackson Cheerios
00:56:48three for three.
00:56:50Mounting a case for World Series
00:56:52MVP.
00:56:55Self relic ceiling.
00:56:57It doesn't matter what you
00:56:58throw in.
00:57:08But it doesn't help if you throw
00:57:09it down the middle.
00:57:10Yeah.
00:57:12It's a good meeting of the mound
00:57:13here right here because Bauer
00:57:15has been really really patient
00:57:16early.
00:57:17And this if I'm the catcher I'm
00:57:19saying look I.
00:57:21We've got to make sure.
00:57:23Keep the game right here.
00:57:24He's going to be aggressive.
00:57:25I think third time third time I
00:57:27would put him on aggression.
00:57:29Get a quick word from
00:57:30Strauss.
00:57:34In the dirt up at all hours
00:57:36jumping up on a tractor down
00:57:37from the tractor.
00:57:38So we need stuff that can hold
00:57:39up.
00:57:40You could tell somebody really
00:57:41thought about people working
00:57:43in these.
00:57:49One on one out here is Bowers.
00:57:53Always got to pay attention to
00:57:54what guys have done against you
00:57:55each at bat.
00:58:16He's got a good lead.
00:58:18Two and all.
00:58:19He plants him down to that Tampa
00:58:21Bay bullpen.
00:58:21Nobody warming yet.
00:58:23Nick Martinez.
00:58:25Plan is that he's going to pitch
00:58:27in this game.
00:58:28Kevin Cash said one inning zero
00:58:30impact in a game five start two
00:58:32innings.
00:58:33When he trailed off and he said.
00:58:35We got to win tonight.
00:58:37So good chance you see multiple
00:58:38innings from Martinez.
00:58:41to one and then he would like to
00:58:44get nine outs from Cam Boozer
00:58:46and Brian Baker.
00:58:49We can talk about the pitching
00:58:50plan all day and it doesn't
00:58:52matter one bit if they don't
00:58:53get some offense.
00:58:57The two under Jake Bowers.
00:59:01Lifted in the air the other way.
00:59:03Simpson goes back.
00:59:04Edge of the track.
00:59:05He's got it and avoids the wall
00:59:07this time.
00:59:08Back to first goes Churio.
00:59:10Two gone.
00:59:18The designated two guys warming
00:59:20Wells and Boozer.
00:59:23Yellow chest two hands.
00:59:27And he's seen two pitches.
00:59:37This one not close enough to
00:59:39draw.
00:59:40Third first pitch swing.
00:59:44To the hit in all three games.
00:59:48Night season with the team.
00:59:51First trip to the world's
00:59:52series.
01:00:00Looking for their first
01:00:01championship.
01:00:12There's my nightmare that just
01:00:14happened.
01:00:14Two guys thrown in the pen.
01:00:16One guy threw a ball.
01:00:19Pass the catcher.
01:00:22On the.
01:00:24I hated it.
01:00:26I hated being on the side there
01:00:28and not your own little bullpen.
01:00:29It's the only place where that
01:00:31happened like that.
01:00:32Yeah.
01:00:34Used to be a lot.
01:00:35It was always made me nervous.
01:00:41You don't want to be that guy.
01:00:43Too much space.
01:00:45Too much going on.
01:00:51There goes Churio.
01:00:53To the ball.
01:00:54Off line.
01:00:55Did he say on the bag.
01:00:57He did.
01:00:59Some glue on that oven mitt.
01:01:00I mean with everybody sliding head
01:01:05first.
01:01:05That's why they're wearing those.
01:01:07If you're wondering at home why
01:01:08do they put those on.
01:01:09That's to help.
01:01:10Not jam their.
01:01:11hand.
01:01:13Or wrist.
01:01:14But the other thing is.
01:01:15It's hard.
01:01:16To grab.
01:01:17The bag.
01:01:29For count.
01:01:31Jackson Churio.
01:01:32In three World Series games has
01:01:35seven hits and three stolen bases.
01:01:55And now I'm going to deal with
01:01:57Contreras.
01:01:58Is Kevin Cash let Peralta do it.
01:02:00Or as well as come in for.
01:02:06He's one for two today.
01:02:07The long hit was a blue pair
01:02:08that brought it around.
01:02:10In the third.
01:02:12Been trying to bury that fastball
01:02:14in.
01:02:15See what he does in this third
01:02:16at bat.
01:02:20Change overthrow.
01:02:42Good arms and right and center.
01:02:44Not as strong and left.
01:02:54Every pitcher knows when his last
01:02:56hitter.
01:02:58Is going to be if he doesn't get
01:02:59him out in this inning.
01:03:02The ring waits on deck.
01:03:04Boozer would get him.
01:03:06And it's three and all on
01:03:08Contreras.
01:03:12Looks over seen if he's got the
01:03:14green light.
01:03:19Pat Murphy's saying heck yeah.
01:03:21Pitbull.
01:03:23Let it eat.
01:03:26Good.
01:03:28Good.
01:03:29Step to us.
01:03:38Six hits and three walks for the
01:03:40Brewers.
01:03:41In these five innings.
01:03:44Contreras with two away.
01:03:45Chaps one left side.
01:03:47Caminero steps and throws the
01:03:48second.
01:03:49They say it's in time.
01:03:50I'm not sure though.
01:03:52Yelich sliding in there.
01:03:55Dan Bolino says that he's out.
01:03:57And they'll go to the replay
01:03:59room.
01:03:59They're going to challenge.
01:04:00They got to see with his lead
01:04:02leg.
01:04:02If it pops up in the air it
01:04:04doesn't get to that bag.
01:04:07Looked like he beat it live.
01:04:11Replay review powered by zoom.
01:04:15Made a great play his only play
01:04:17was to throw the second.
01:04:19You don't think even with
01:04:20Contreras running he could have
01:04:21set his feet and got him there.
01:04:23It would have been a tougher
01:04:24tougher throw.
01:04:25And this is a much shorter
01:04:27throw.
01:04:28But.
01:04:29He's going to be safe.
01:04:31And the bases are going to be
01:04:32loaded for Bryce terrain.
01:04:34And he'd figure that mean
01:04:35Cam Boozer is going to come in
01:04:37here.
01:04:49And the Brewers fans who have
01:04:50made the trip down here.
01:04:52Howlin.
01:05:07after the view ruling on the
01:05:09field is overturned the runner
01:05:10is safe.
01:05:13And with that here comes Kevin
01:05:14Cash to go to the bullpen.
01:05:20base is loaded for Milwaukee.
01:05:23Cam Boozer coming in.
01:05:30for the game.
01:05:30MLB celebrates the life and
01:05:32legacy of Roberto Clemente by
01:05:34presenting the 26 Roberto
01:05:35Clemente award presented by
01:05:37Capital One Francisco Lindor the
01:05:39winner this year for his
01:05:40positive contributions on and
01:05:42off the field.

01:05:44more.
01:05:45All right.
01:05:46Cam Boozer right here with
01:05:47Milwaukee trying to put this
01:05:48game on ice early.
01:05:53Their top left hander by far.
01:05:56Bryce during the batter with the
01:05:58bases loaded.
01:06:06ball one.
01:06:08This is what you call a tough
01:06:10situation but this is the game
01:06:11right here and Kevin Cash knows
01:06:14he cannot afford to get much
01:06:17farther behind no room to put
01:06:20him and you're going to make
01:06:21quality pitches here at the
01:06:22bases loaded.
01:06:24The game is 1 0 pitch.
01:06:28Opponents with runners in
01:06:29scoring position against Cam
01:06:30Boozer are 2 for 26 and in this
01:06:34postseason 0 for 9 with men on.
01:06:37He has a tough delivery for
01:06:40left handed batters to pick up
01:06:42the ball and get hit hits off
01:06:44it.
01:06:481 1 terrain.
01:06:51Balls it again.
01:06:52Milwaukee has had a distinct
01:06:54edge and the bullpen is head
01:06:56to head in this series.
01:06:57Here's a chance for Tampa Bay
01:06:58to strike back.
01:07:01Here's the moment where Tampa
01:07:02Bay has to strike back.
01:07:04Tough call here.
01:07:05He could throw that breaking
01:07:06ball.
01:07:06He's beating him with the
01:07:07fastballs though.
01:07:14Boozer.
01:07:16This is low for the breaking
01:07:17pitch.
01:07:18Two and two.
01:07:20The reason I say it's tough
01:07:21calls because the foul balls
01:07:23have been late.
01:07:24So that means the fastballs have
01:07:26been on him.
01:07:27And a bad breaking ball will just
01:07:29speed up the bat.
01:07:32A good one obviously.
01:07:34Doesn't matter.
01:07:37Two two.
01:07:39Up the middle and two.
01:07:41Bryce Kerrang drives home.
01:07:44Cheerio.
01:07:44Drives home.
01:07:45Yelich.
01:07:46Four to nothing Milwaukee.
01:08:05Two strikes two outs and right up
01:08:08the middle eight up one of the
01:08:10best short stops in baseball.
01:08:13It was such a tough in between
01:08:26and the Brewers lead game three five
01:08:31zero.
01:08:40If you don't think this team is
01:08:43confident and the ability to put
01:08:45the ball in play.
01:08:46The ability to put pressure on the
01:08:48bases.
01:08:49Put it on the infielders.
01:08:51Every facet.
01:08:54Playoff baseball has been played
01:08:56to perfection.
01:08:57for the Milwaukee Brewers thus far.
01:09:01Five out of eight with runners
01:09:02in scoring position tonight.
01:09:06Two outs.
01:09:07And two out hits.
01:09:09Two out walks.
01:09:10They're back breakers.
01:09:12In the postseason.
01:09:13Two outs.
01:09:14Two strikes.
01:09:15Terrain getting his with that.
01:09:17Pratt.
01:09:18Down the line.
01:09:19That's a fair ball.
01:09:21And the merry-go-round spinning
01:09:23for Milwaukee.
01:09:25Table one score.
01:09:26And a Brewer Barrage in the fifth
01:09:29and in a game three.
01:10:07two out runs.
01:10:12It breaks your soul.
01:10:14If you've never understood what
01:10:17it's like at this time of the
01:10:18year.
01:10:19to have this inning happen.
01:10:23It beats you down.
01:10:28I mean.
01:10:29Everyone down the line.
01:10:31Just fair.
01:10:33Just stuff that right now when
01:10:35your team.
01:10:38I just feel like it's going to happen.
01:10:39And here in Milwaukee.
01:10:40They show it out.
01:10:41Watching.
01:10:42at their football base.
01:10:45Three and on Freelich.
01:10:47Three and on Freelich.
01:10:59I'd go.
01:10:59He's very excited to have it.
01:10:59I'm sure you do.
01:10:59I'm sure you've never heard anything you're
01:10:59eager to do.
01:11:00I'm sure you're at that.
