In spring 2026, four skiers travelled to Bolivia with their sights set on skiing new lines in the Cordillera Real's 6,000m peaks. Accessing the mountains, however, quickly becomes more complicated than they had imagined. As political unrest sweeps through the country, roadblocks and uncertainty become as much a part of the journey as the skiing itself. Battling altitude, logistics, and an ever-changing landscape, the team navigates a complex situation in pursuit of first descents.

00:16So we just arrived in La Paz, Bolivia.
00:20There's really great access to these peaks of altitude, like peaks around 6,000, 6,400 meters.
00:28And really cool looking ski terrain.
00:34I will look to Bolivia now where anti-government protests and blockades worsen.
00:39For weeks, demonstrators have taken to the streets and constructed dozens of roadblocks.
00:43So far everything has been blocked.
00:47I don't think it's safe to stay in La Paz.

00:59But it turns out it's way more complex than we ever imagined.
01:08The phase is a dream.
01:13It's 6,088 meters. Oh my god.
