Evolène is the fourth largest commune, in area, in Switzerland. Its territory offers an extensive choice of activities for everyone. Winter: In winter the mountain panorama is breath-taking, beneath its blanket of snow. Over 100 km of alpine ski runs, for all categories of skiers, are carefully maintained. Excursions using snowshoes or helicopter-skiing with mountain guides are organised. Two of the best cross-country ski circuits in Central Valais await one midst beautiful scenery, two natural skating-rinks are much appreciated, or try climbing frozen waterfalls. Our weekly programme of activities can include torchlight and moonlit skiing or a first helicopter flight. Summer: Splendid alpine peaks include the Dent Blanche, more than 250 km of paths and trails are clearly marked, as are the 100 km of mountain bike trails. Tennis, trout fishing, a fitness circuit, or, for the more adventurous, the newly opened Via Ferrata, the alpine climbing school, paragliding and paintball are available.
