00:08Patel had run The Vine since 1978, building a venue known for Indian food, mixed grills and bringing generations and

00:19His family announced his death following a short illness.
00:22Friends and local figures have described The Vine as an institution and Patel as a pioneer who helped popularise Indian
00:30food in British pubs.
00:32His son Bharat says the family will honour his legacy by continuing to run the business.
00:37West Bromwich MP Sarah Coombs has described Patel as a local legend.
