00:00Sinead O'Connor. Do you know everything you need know about her rebellious heart?
00:04It is full of rags-to-riches stories and eccentric celebrities. However, there was only one Sinead
00:10O'Connor. In spite of a horrendous childhood, she managed to become a pop star. However,
00:16the higher they rise, the harder it is for them to fall. She had the worst parents.
00:21She won a prize in kindergarten for curling up into the tiniest ball. But her teachers and
00:27classmates would have been horrified if they had learned why she was so good at it.
00:31Sinead's parents, who eventually divorced, were extremely abusive to her and her four siblings
00:36at home. She was left with permanent scars and was forced to follow a dark path as a result.
00:42She was a kleptomaniac. It was revealed that the singer was addicted to stealing. Sinead felt guilty,
00:49but she was unable to stop. Even worse, these thefts were committed without any remorse.
00:54She would, for example, take flowers from people's gardens. Then she had the audacity to knock on
01:00their doors and sell them the flowers. As a result, she pushed her luck to the limit.
01:05There was a run-in with the law for her. A shoe shop employee thought it was harmless to allow
01:10a
01:10girl into the staff room to try on items. Their assumptions were incorrect. The employee's wallet
01:16was swiped by Sinead and she escaped with it. It was then that she had the nerve to return in
01:22hopes
01:22of repeating the experience. However, the employees did not forget her, and they did not forgive her
01:28either. As a result, they trapped her in the store and called the authorities. In spite of Sinead's
01:34pleas, Johanna Marie O'Grady was far from innocent. She had a mother who broke the law. It turns out
01:41that Sinead inherited her sticky fingers from her mother. As a result, Johanna even went as far as
01:47taking money from the collection plates at church, and encouraged Sinead to ask strangers for donations.
01:53This was one of the many things that strained Johanna and Sinead's relationship to the point
01:58where Sinead moved in with her father. However, Sinead was unable to leave behind her crooked life
02:04and paid the price for it. The girl went too far. When Sinead was 15, her luck finally ran out,
02:11and she spent 18 months in an asylum. Fortunately, she developed a passion for music and writing while
02:17she was there. Unfortunately, the institution was strict and even cruel. Sometimes, Sinead had to
02:24spend the night in the nursing home next door. The woman admitted that she had never experienced such
02:30panic, terror, and agony over anything in her life. Considering what life threw at her next,
02:36this is an impressive accomplishment. As a result of her loss, she experienced mixed emotions.
02:42If their mother were not to survive a car accident, most children would feel nothing but devastation.
02:48Johanna was not like most mothers, and Sinead wasn't like most children.
02:53Johanna noticed that the only photograph on her mom's wall was a photograph of Pope John Paul II
02:59after she passed away. The reason Sinead saved it had nothing to do with grief, sentimentality,
03:05or faith. In her opinion, it symbolized the lies, mistreatment, and neglect that Irish children
03:11suffered. Sinead planned to destroy it at the right time, but had no idea that she would also
03:17destroy her life at the same time. It was her big break. Things were finally looking up for Sinead.
03:23She had signed with a record label and was working on her debut album. It did not take long for
03:29things
03:29to fall apart. It was not long before Sinead realized that she and the industry were at odds.
03:35Initially, Nigel, an executive, demanded that she dress more femininely and grow out her mohawk.
03:41Sinead's response was brazen. It was clear that she was subversive.
03:45The next day, Sinead marched into a barber's shop and claimed,
03:49I want to look like a boy. This horrified the barber, who begged her not to cut off her hair.
03:55Eventually, he caved. Sinead had her signature appearance.
03:59Some people were horrified by her shaved head, but she was overjoyed. I love it.
04:04I looked like an alien. Looked like Star Trek. It didn't matter what I wore now. However,
04:10her battle with executives was far from over. Life-changing news was delivered to her.
04:16While recording, Sinead discovered that she was pregnant with her first child, a son named Jake.
04:21It was a surprise, but she could not have been happier.
04:25Is John Reynolds her boyfriend and the father of her child? I don't think so.
04:29While she stayed for their child Sake, she fell out of love with him.
04:33The situation worsened when Sinead shared the news with her record label.
04:38It was the beginning of the end of much more than motherhood for her.
04:42She was shocked by her label. The reaction of Sinead's label to the news was shocking.
04:47Nigel advised her to consult the company's physician. However, if it seems too good to be true,
04:53it probably is. In place of medical care, she received a lecture entitled,
04:58Your record company has spent £100,000 recording your album. You owe it to them not to have this
05:04child. Sinead was even told by this doctor that she could not be a musician and a mother at the
05:09same time. After crying her eyes out, she made a decision that could have ended her life.
05:15Thank you all for watching.
