00:00MacBooks are amazing, but the second you need to pull photos off an SD card, you're stuck
00:04digging through drawers for some dongle. Been there. So I went hunting for the best deals on
00:10card reader adapters every MacBook user needs, and I found five that honestly surprised me.
00:16Let's get into it. First up is the GQ Base Qi for the older MacBook Pro Retina 15 from late
00:222013
00:23onward. This thing is aluminum and it sits completely flush inside your SD slot, so it
00:29basically disappears into the laptop. No cable, no dangling adapter, nothing to lose.
00:35It's $42.73, and with almost 5,000 sold and a 4.7 rating, it's the easiest way to give
00:42an older
00:43MacBook a permanent microSD upgrade. If your Retina 15 is still your daily driver, this is worth every
00:49penny. Next, the BaseG UHS-II aluminum microSD adapter for the MacBook Pro 14 in 16-inch M1 through M5.
00:58Here's the kicker, it supports UHS-II speeds, so if you've got a fast card, you actually get
01:03those fast transfer speeds, not a bottleneck. Perfect for offloading 4K footage from a drone
01:09or camera. It's $33.84, and a perfect 5-star rating. If speed matters to you, this is the one
01:17to grab. Product 3 is the BaseG 420 is microSD adapter, also for the 14-inch MacBook Pro from
01:252021 through 2026. This is the classic flush mount design, aluminum mini drive style, and it's dead
01:32simple, slide your microSD in, pop it in the slot, forget it exists. Extra storage that looks like it
01:38came from Apple. $33.84, over 4,000 sold, 5 stars. It's the reliable workhorse of the bunch.
01:48Now, if you don't want to spend much at all, check this out. A USB-C to SD card reader
01:54with
01:54microSD support too, and it works with iPhone 15 and 16, iPads, and basically any Type-C device.
02:01This is the Grab Ango option, it lives in your bag, and it handles full-size SD cards and microSD.
02:07The price? $4.65. That's it. Nearly 4,000 sold, 4.5 stars. For under 5 bucks, everyone should have
02:20one of these in a backpack. Last one, and this is the value pick, the BaseG microSD adapter for the
02:2614 and 16-inch MacBook Pro, M1 through M5, same flush aluminum design as the others.
02:32Here's the difference, it's only $24.04. Same seamless, invisible storage setup, same 4.7 rating,
02:41over 3,000 sold. If you want the BaseG experience without paying extra, this is your best deal.
02:48Honestly, this might be the smartest buy on the whole list.
02:52So those are the card reader adapters every MacBook user needs, whether you're rocking an
02:56old Retina or the newest M series. All the links are in the description below,
