HBO has announced a five-episode revival of Girls, significant for its potential cast return and planned 2027 production start. The HBO Girls revival was revealed via an Instagram video from creator Lena Dunham inviting Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, and Andrew Rannells to return. Adam Driver has not confirmed involvement, and Dunham’s memoir Famesick recounts disputes during filming. The book describes frequent arguments, an incident in which Driver allegedly threw a chair during rehearsal, and a text message sent while he was dating Joanne Tucker. Driver, who later earned Oscar nominations for BlacKkKlansman and Marriage Story, said at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival he had “no comment,” adding he is “saving it all” for his book.
