Ian's ordinary campus delivery job turns into a nightmare when a confrontation with wealthy student Zack sends him falling from a sixth-floor rooftop.
But instead of hitting the ground, Ian disappears in midair—and reappears beside his scooter. Moments later, he uses the same impossible ability to save Nina from an oncoming van.
When Nina touches his blood, she sees fragments of a laboratory from their childhood. Somewhere else, Obsidian Biotech realizes that Subject A-17 has finally awakened.
