00:00It may seem like Taylor Swift has been nominated for an Oscar, but she hasn't. She's been nominated
00:06for a bunch of Golden Globes and she won a Grammy for a movie song, but she has not cracked
00:12the
00:12Academy Awards yet. And that all could change because over the weekend, she very wisely played
00:19the Academy Museum Gala, which in its sixth year is an increasingly important stop on the award
00:26circuit. Now, not only that, but Swift played her potential Best Original Song nominee from Toy Story
00:345. I knew it. I knew you for the crowd. The song had debuted on the Billboard charts at number
00:41one when
00:41it came out in June. So people are familiar with it, which helps voters. But the other thing is the
00:48gala raised a record amount of money. It raised $14 million this year, up from $12 million in
00:562025. It's like the swift Midas touch effect. When she was on MTV VMAs, the viewership spiked to the
01:05highest levels since 2015. The other thing in Taylor Swift's favor this year is that every Toy Story
01:12has had a Best Original Song nominee. So it would make sense that Toy Story 5 would follow suit.
01:19And when she was introduced by Conan O'Brien, who stars in the movie at the gala, which was filled
01:27with executives, stars, and of course, Oscar voters, he mentioned that she was part of their
01:34little merry cast of the Toy Story movie, but then also slipped in a thing that she was like Paul,
01:42John, George, and Ringo combined. So basically saying that she's better than the Beatles.
01:48We'll let you decide about that. You can read more about this story in the Page Six Hollywood
01:52newsletter and all things Oscars as we head into award season.
