**NINE AMERICANS KILLED IN THE WEST BANK. YEARS OF UNANSWERED QUESTIONS. NOW ALLEGATIONS OF DIPLOMATIC OBSTRUCTION.**

U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen is calling for a congressional investigation into allegations that senior American diplomatic officials in Israel withheld information concerning the deaths of American citizens in the occupied West Bank.

In this video, the Maryland senator accuses Ambassador Mike Huckabee and adviser David Milstein of obstructing congressional oversight to protect the Israeli government.

The accusations follow a documented effort by 31 U.S. senators to obtain accountability for nine Americans killed since January 2022.

**THE DEATH OF NASRALLAH ABU SIYAM**

On February 18, 2026, Nasrallah Abu Siyam, a 19-year-old American born in Philadelphia, was shot and killed during an attack by Israeli settlers near Ramallah.

In March, Van Hollen and 30 fellow senators demanded an independent investigation and updates on eight other American deaths in the West Bank.

The senators requested a briefing by April 5. Van Hollen subsequently stated that the requested information had not been provided.

**THE ALLEGED OBSTRUCTION**

Van Hollen alleges that senior U.S. Embassy officials have interfered with congressional efforts to obtain information.

The senator has requested that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hold a hearing into the allegations.

The allegation of a deliberate cover-up remains a contested claim requiring investigation.

**A FAILURE ACROSS ADMINISTRATIONS**

Van Hollen also criticizes the Biden administration's failure to obtain accountability for Americans killed during its tenure.

His broader argument concerns the obligation of the United States government to defend the rights and safety of its citizens regardless of where they are harmed or which foreign government is involved.

**THE PUBLIC-INTEREST ISSUE**

The controversy raises fundamental questions about diplomatic responsibility, congressional oversight, U.S.-Israel relations and accountability for violence against civilians.

CYNC Verity Media examines the verified record and the questions that remain unanswered.
