00:00Our message is simple. Everyone in Australia deserves to live free from threats, coercion
00:05or pressure from any foreign government. Most governments engage openly to diplomacy and
00:10influence, which is legitimate. But when influence is exerted covertly, deceptively or through
00:16coercion to influence political processes, harm national security or threaten communities,
00:22it may reach the threshold of foreign interference. The AFP is committed to
00:28protecting everyone in Australia from this behaviour, and in collaboration with our partner agencies,
00:33we'll assess reports to determine the most appropriate response.
00:37You don't need to make that judgement yourself.
00:40We want communities to know they are not alone and that support is available.
00:45If something doesn't feel right, please tell us.
00:49Anyone with information about foreign interference or related behaviour is urged to contact the
00:54national security hotline on 1800 123 400. We understand that reporting a matter of concern
01:02can be a big step. Your report may not result in a visible outcome, but please be assured that every
01:09report helps build a clearer picture of foreign interference in Australia and informs investigations
01:14into concerning behaviour. Reporting your concerns to the national security hotline is the best way you
01:20can help us do our job. Please do not air your concerns publicly through media and social media,
01:26as this compromises investigations and may place individuals at further risk.
