00:00:20The countdown to the midterm elections is on.
00:00:23At stake, control of Congress.
00:00:25On the eve of the midterm elections, a deeply divided country.
00:00:30President Trump is hoping to give Republicans a boost.
00:00:32Can Democrats flip the House and Senate?
00:00:35Over the past six years, a team of filmmakers across the United States has been documenting the views and experiences
00:00:41of Americans.
00:00:43When they step outside their jurisdiction.
00:00:46What is your take on all this stuff going on?
00:00:50From the earliest days of the pandemic.
00:00:52I love you so much.
00:00:53To a summer of protest.
00:00:55We're the free people of America.
00:00:57As long as they catch one dirty cop at a time, I'm happy one at a time.
00:01:02And economic woes.
00:01:04Groceries are skyrocketing.
00:01:06Health care is out the roof.
00:01:08The hopes and fears about the last elections.
00:01:10I want the values to be what the people are voting for, not the person.
00:01:14And the current one.
00:01:15The state of this country now, it's messy.
00:01:18People are angry.
00:01:19I think I am too.
00:01:20Now, a Frontline special presentation.
00:01:25American Voices.
00:01:26American Voices.
00:01:272026.
00:01:52American Voices.
00:01:55How can I love America?
00:01:57I can't.
00:01:57I don't think I can love America.
00:01:58I can't put that into words.
00:02:00Are we any more safe now than we were before?
00:02:04The cost of living is gone up.
00:02:08I'm fearful that people will forget how to work with people that you don't agree with.
00:02:14These are the voices of Americans.
00:02:17People are getting angrier and angrier.
00:02:20I want to be in charge of my own life.
00:02:23Gathered from across a divided nation.
00:02:26If America doesn't repent, America will be doomed.
00:02:29In this film, Americans reflect on the past six tumultuous years.
00:02:35Someone clap once for me.
00:02:37This ain't the American dream I thought about when I was in middle school.
00:02:41I wish there wasn't as much hate in this world as what we have.
00:02:46The midterms are definitely going to be very polarizing.
00:02:52A pastor, a barber, an aspiring politician, an activist, a mother, a retiree, the owners
00:03:05of a nail salon and of a construction company, a doctor, and a patient.
00:03:15Each experiencing changes happening in the country and in their own lives.
00:03:27So, we're new to Missouri.
00:03:29I'm seeing all the signs about, like, no one, four, and five, you know?
00:03:33Do you have an opinion on those?
00:03:38Not enough to speak one way or the other.
00:03:41It's tomorrow.
00:03:42Is it tomorrow?
00:03:43Yeah.
00:03:44All right, well.
00:03:46Go and take a look.
00:03:48But I will, too.
00:03:49It's good to be informed.
00:03:52Awesome, thank you.
00:03:54I'm trying to talk to locals about the issues that are on the ballot, but so far, nobody near
00:03:59me knows what they even are.
00:04:02Okay, so look there.
00:04:04Objective versus subjective.
00:04:06My kids sometimes will just blurt something out that they got from a meme.
00:04:11I would be like, okay, why do you feel that way?
00:04:15What are the facts?
00:04:15And they can't even explain it.
00:04:17Opinions versus facts.
00:04:19And this is why I hate the mainstream news now.
00:04:21My name is Amy Garner.
00:04:23I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I am a mom of
00:04:28six
00:04:28kids.
00:04:29I don't trust any news source.
00:04:32Because all these people are getting a lot of money from advertisers.
00:04:36I would never say that I blindly or fully trust any of them.
00:04:43No bag is exactly what it sounds like.
00:04:46It's a backpack or duffel bag designed to have everything you need.
00:04:50So in case of an emergency, you can easily and quickly grab it.
00:04:54My name is Dr. Christine Eadie Mann.
00:04:57I am a family practice physician in the Central Texas area.
00:05:02Politics in 2020.
00:05:04COVID in 2020.
00:05:05Kamala Harris in 2024.
00:05:07It has led to me more thinking, take care of myself, take care of my friends, take care
00:05:14of my family.
00:05:15This is our solar crank radio.
00:05:17So if the grid goes down, you can use solar or you can crank it.
00:05:23Sewing kit, antibiotic ointment.
00:05:26This kind of prepping makes me have to think about the idea that some of my fears could come
00:05:33to fruition.
00:05:41Our men have been emasculated.
00:05:44American men are soft.
00:05:46I mean, honestly, if we do not hold the line in 2026 and 2028, Minnesota is going to be
00:05:54ground zero for rounding some of you people up.
00:05:57My name is Royce White.
00:05:58I didn't get into politics for it to be a job.
00:06:01I only got into politics to speak a truth that I thought wouldn't be spoken unless I got
00:06:06into politics.
00:06:09Our political reality in this country is the future of this nation rests upon the edge of
00:06:14a blade.
00:06:20I don't even look at the news anymore because I don't want to see him.
00:06:28I'm just so tired of seeing the president.
00:06:32Okay, I have the answer.
00:06:33It is Frank Sinatra.
00:06:35I got it right.
00:06:37Tell you, I get lucky every day I'm there.
00:06:40My name is Corrine Lewis.
00:06:42I live in North Chesterfield, Virginia.
00:06:45I'm retired.
00:06:47And I'm a homeowner.
00:07:02My pastor even said, he said, even if we're not happy with the person running the country,
00:07:07we still have to love him.
00:07:12I guess I still have a lot more spiritual guidance to have to do because I'm not there.
00:07:19It's not that short.
00:07:25My name is Mark Curtis.
00:07:27I'm a father.
00:07:29I'm also a business owner.
00:07:31I own a construction company.
00:07:34My political leanings today are very much conservative libertarian.
00:07:39As an American that has no ties to Israel, and I don't mean for this to come across as
00:07:43being insensitive, but I don't like how much money or the involvement America has in the
00:07:48foreign war.
00:07:49What is your take on all this stuff going on?
00:07:52Because I don't feel like I have educated a true, full sense of what's happening.
00:07:58October 7th and the fact that, you know, you had people that invaded.
00:08:03Yeah.
00:08:03Jizz and.
00:08:04Coming from Palestine.
00:08:05Coming from Gaza.
00:08:08But then.
00:08:08Yeah, which is, yeah, which is horrible.
00:08:10Civilized itself.
00:08:11Yeah.
00:08:12I am not sure how everything shifted from being America first and our economics improving
00:08:20to needing the support of a foreign nation.
00:08:26Tough times are coming.
00:08:28The next few years might be rough.
00:08:30There's going to be ups and downs.
00:08:32There's going to be turmoil.
00:08:33Our culture's drifted so far away from Christian ethics, but he will hold me fast and he'll
00:08:40hold you fast.
00:08:41You got two choices in American politics.
00:08:44You can have bad or you can have worse.
00:08:46Republicans are bad.
00:08:48Democrats are worse.
00:08:49You get evil or you get more evil.
00:08:52My name is Kerry Gordon.
00:08:54I'm the senior pastor of Cornerstone World Outreach.
00:08:59I've told my kids at home that this world is cruel.
00:09:06You have to maintain compassion for other people and want to help other people and at
00:09:11the same time, keep a defensive posture so that you can survive it.
00:09:19I'm saying on that time they thought they was like it was deja vu.
00:09:22Jacob 762 with some green dip.
00:09:24That's my favorite round.
00:09:25She'll catch it on the track.
00:09:26Crime Raps report.
00:09:27The shells were never found.
00:09:27100 about the outs.
00:09:29I never lied.
00:09:29They music really wack.
00:09:30I said we be slicing through the app and we don't even got a deli.
00:09:33Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:09:35You got bars, man.
00:09:36You can rap.
00:09:37Just make sure you mean what you say, you know?
00:09:40Music and like art and stuff like that is just self-reflection.
00:09:43And, you know, if you're mad at the time, get it out on the music.
00:09:47If, you know, you feel heart broke at the time, get it out on the music.
00:09:50My name is Tyler Daniel.
00:09:51I'm from South Minneapolis, Minnesota.
00:09:54I am a human first and a community member.
00:09:57You know, I don't really like to get into politics even though politics gets into all of us, right?
00:10:02All right, my man.
00:10:02All right, for sure.
00:10:03Y'all be smooth, man.
00:10:05I'm contributing as much as I can to the people that I love and the community I love.
00:10:20When I was in high school, I always tell my friend, like, later on in life, I'm going to do
00:10:25some kind of business.
00:10:26Like, I'm going to open a business.
00:10:27I don't know what it is, but something, something.
00:10:31My name is Jamie Din.
00:10:33My name is Jason Tolentino.
00:10:36When I tell Jason I'm going to get a nail salon, and then he was like, oh my God, you
00:10:42know how much you have to pay for rent, insurance, and then how many pedicure you have to do?
00:10:47I was like, Jason, I don't know, but I know that I have to get that.
00:10:53The government have their job to do, and me, I'm just a follower.
00:11:00We work hard to keep the life, the life that we are right now.
00:11:16It just don't seem like something in the air.
00:11:21It's just a year with a whole lot wrong to it.
00:11:24Hmm.
00:11:26My name is Brian Moore.
00:11:27I'm a barber from Portland, Oregon.
00:11:29Gotcha.
00:11:30You can have a seat, and we'll be right with you.
00:11:33Peter, you are on the wait list as well.
00:11:36My business, it's not like it used to be.
00:11:40There's not really regulars anymore, and that's why I chose to do a part-time position at a franchise.
00:11:49I keep reiterating to myself that it's going to get better because the economy is going to get better.
00:11:53It's going to go back to where it should be.
00:11:57I don't think we're coming out of this.
00:11:59I don't think that we're going to come out of this one unscathed.
00:12:04If you asked me in 2020 if any of these things would have happened, I would have not believed you.
00:12:12I guess I am very different than I was back then.
00:12:15There's been a lot of things that changed from 2020, but I don't think nearly enough has changed.
00:12:20My heart hasn't changed, but my political views have changed.
00:12:23How did we get to this point?
00:12:40All the people, the nations, and the languages fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar, the king, had
00:12:49set up.
00:12:54My father pioneered this church in 1982.
00:12:57This is my 25th year of pastoring myself.
00:13:03How do I water baptize someone in a virtual service?
00:13:07How do I bury the dead?
00:13:09How do I have a wedding?
00:13:11How are people supposed to have me lay my hands upon them and anoint them with oil and pray over
00:13:17them to be healed in the midst of a pandemic when I'm told that I can't have physical contact?
00:13:26And they've said the church is not essential in a time of crisis with imminent death and a pandemic.
00:13:32The church is not essential.
00:13:35It's offensive.
00:13:42It's offensive.
00:13:51Back and forth and end and out and back and forth again.
00:13:58For we are strong people and we will come out of this and be on top again.
00:14:04I do believe.
00:14:29I'm just looking for the future.
00:14:33I'm not going to stop doing what I'm doing because I'm a provider, so my mind is set on what
00:14:38I have to do.
00:14:40Be a grandpa, you know, be a dad, be an uncle.
00:14:48The coronavirus pandemic is putting an end to the longest economic expansion in U.S. history.
00:14:54We are going into a global recession.
00:14:57There we go.
00:14:59That's looking nice.
00:15:01You look so happy about it.
00:15:03Turn around so I can see the back.
00:15:10Look as grumpy as you possibly can.
00:15:16Mental health is important to me.
00:15:19I lost my brother to suicide just three years ago.
00:15:23When we say economy, sometimes we just think of finances as a whole of society, but instead I see my
00:15:29brother, his business was going down.
00:15:32That triggered the stress, which triggered his health issues, which triggered his mental health issues, and he was gone in
00:15:3860 days.
00:15:48I wanted to save other families from going through what we went through.
00:15:53So that's why I became so passionate about not shutting things down, letting people choose.
00:16:08You take away people's connections, their hobbies, their friends, their worship, their work, and everyone's going to be depressed.
00:16:17And I am so blessed to have a family of children and a husband, but what about the people who
00:16:21don't?
00:16:22It's heartbreaking.
00:16:23God bless America, my home sweet home.
00:16:38God bless America, my home sweet home.
00:17:01comfortable. And ever for all you've done for me. I am one of these people that still walk around
00:17:15wondering, do I have COVID? One person that passed, I knew her very, very, very, very, very,
00:17:25very well. And she was healthy as she could be. Words just can't describe how this makes me feel.
00:17:49Ammo. Head to ammo. Back right. Do you want one of those targets? We're going to shoot later
00:17:55today. Sure. How about, no, we're not getting that target. How about each of you get to pick one
00:18:02target? Here, let's check out here. See if we can. I don't need a mask, man. Thanks. I already said
00:18:14it
00:18:14twice. Who was that? That lady. She mentioned masks when she walked by me and then she just mentioned
00:18:20match the game. I want my kids to start looking at the facts across the board and let them make
00:18:30their own decisions, even starting at a young age.
00:18:43I think overall freedoms are majorly at risk. We should all have the right to make our own
00:18:50decisions for ourselves. A good firm grip. Squeeze the trigger.
00:19:17Okay. I really hope this internet thing works. Hey, Irene, can you hear us? Yeah. If we can catch it,
00:19:24we can catch it. We can catch it. We can catch it. We can catch it. We can catch it.
00:19:24We can catch it.
00:19:24Right in the middle. I saw her picture on MySpace. Wow. We just started talking from there.
00:19:33All right. One second. Then we're going to turn the table. So welcome, Jason. Welcome,
00:19:38young Tiet. We're going to be sharing in the joy and the celebration of a very special occasion.
00:19:44When I proposed, I asked her if she was going to marry me and then she slapped me.
00:19:52Well, you know, I always think like, oh, if someone proposed me, I would slap him in the face
00:19:58just to make sure that he knows what he's doing. And then he got kind of scared a little bit.
00:20:04And
00:20:05then I was like, oh, yes. And just look into each other's eyes. Please welcome your marriage with a
00:20:13kiss. You can remove your mask if you want. I'm hoping that this whole pandemic, it goes away.
00:20:29Thank you. Then we'll be able to open up a shop normally again. And maybe we'll get a kid.
00:21:00When the COVID-19 pandemic started, we were left without any guidance. Doctors like me,
00:21:09we kind of all had to make it up on the fly. My hands are sweaty. I can't get the
00:21:14gloves on.
00:21:16It took weeks looking at studies and data from other countries to figure out
00:21:24the processes to manage patients. This takes between one and three days to get a result. Sorry.
00:21:34Man, this is annoying. We're suffering much worse than we would have had we had a competent science-based
00:21:45head of state. The number of deaths in the United States has now reached a stunning 50,000. Had at
00:21:55least
00:21:55one underlying health issue. A new effort to keep Chicagoans safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
00:22:09Come on, guys. You're wearing your mask wrong. Come over your nose.
00:22:20Come on. In early April is when I started feeling lightheaded, dizzy. I was coughing. I lost my sense
00:22:30of taste and smell. One day I woke up. I was so weak. I just fell over.
00:22:40I was like, okay, I really need to go to the emergency room.
00:22:48They, like, immediately, like, put me in a room. Didn't even ask me my name or anything.
00:22:55I remember a doctor came in and told me, we're pretty sure we're going to have to intubate you.
00:23:01Do you have someone that can make medical decisions for you?
00:23:07Then, um, it's just kind of a blur what happened after I got intubated.
00:23:19The day they told us that Myra, um, it was her last day, uh, we're all in the trampoline.
00:23:26Just, my mom was crying. Um, my sisters, all my aunts were there. They were crying. They didn't know
00:23:34what to do. And we were just planning, um, to go pick up, uh, a corpse.
00:23:40I was trying to avoid it. I love you so much.
00:23:44Mm-hmm. Uh-oh.
00:23:49My name is Myra Amirez.
00:23:51I'm 28 years old.
00:23:52And I am the first, um, lung, double lung transplant patient due to COVID-19 in the U.S.
00:24:03The attempted arrest was caught on camera. The video of last night's confrontation shows a white
00:24:08police officer with his knee pinning down the neck of the...
00:24:11His name was George Floyd. He's on video saying, please, please, I can't breathe.
00:24:17It's a Minneapolis police officer. Holds him down for a minute.
00:24:20No justice, no peace. Prosecute the police.
00:24:23The outrage began with a video showing an officer kneeling on Floyd's neck.
00:24:27How many times have we watched police officers running through?
00:24:34Crowds of protesters facing off with officers in lion gear.
00:24:41Overnight protests left parts of downtown in ruins.
00:24:50And if just one of these aggressive rulers wants to crack, the entire system will crumble.
00:24:58Yeah!
00:25:00We're already fighting a common terror, which is COVID, and now this now?
00:25:05You know? People are just pissed off, like, this is just ridiculous.
00:25:08How can you kill this man?
00:25:09The real history of the United States.
00:25:13The fact that it happened in my neighborhood was what really pulled me into it.
00:25:21As far as the volunteering efforts go, so far you're our go-to volunteer coordinator, right?
00:25:26Yeah.
00:25:26So we really have to get her engaged with...
00:25:28Them.
00:25:29Them.
00:25:29And the efforts...
00:25:30A lot of guys from the neighborhood decided to get together and create the 10K Foundation.
00:25:35We wanted to show that we could have a peaceful protest.
00:25:3810K is about mobilizing 10,000 people and the power in that, the sovereignty and being able to mobilize...
00:25:45I grew up here in the Twin Cities.
00:25:47I felt ashamed that this had happened in Minnesota.
00:25:50All at once I started to see, you know, the state as a real tyrannical entity with corporations
00:25:57and state government and the police.
00:26:00I was like, oh, it's us versus them.
00:26:04This is kind of going to be like our pillars for 10K right now.
00:26:07Safety.
00:26:08It's really police and prisons.
00:26:10Public health.
00:26:11We have the prison system.
00:26:12Prisons.
00:26:12You have policing.
00:26:13Yes.
00:26:16I made a lot of bad decisions when I was younger.
00:26:19Getting in fights, had an assault charge, things like that.
00:26:24There was a moment where, you know, some guys broke into my house and tried to rob me and
00:26:28they ended up shooting me.
00:26:31I got shot three times, twice in my stomach, one in my back.
00:26:37And I remember sitting there waiting for the ambulance to come.
00:26:40I'm sitting there bleeding out.
00:26:41And it still hits me to this day thinking about that kind of stuff, you know?
00:26:47Yeah, I'm getting teary-eyed a little bit thinking about it.
00:26:51Every single day I've been waiting for this moment, a time where we can stand up for what
00:26:56is right.
00:26:57And for so long, many of us were always waiting for somebody else to do it.
00:27:01People, the time is right now.
00:27:05Can everybody say that one time?
00:27:06On the count of three, say the time is now.
00:27:08One, two, three.
00:27:09The time is now.
00:27:10Say it again.
00:27:11The time is now.
00:27:12Not either.
00:27:13The time is now.
00:27:14The time is now.
00:27:26When you think about the historical context of black men, black people in this country
00:27:30in general, when we wake up in the morning, there's no good reason for us to have any faith
00:27:34in the state.
00:27:38Let's start the diet right now.
00:27:4046 seconds.
00:27:56Protesters have been on the streets of Richmond for several weeks now.
00:27:59One time capital of the Confederacy is in the throes of change as statues commemorating Confederate
00:28:04leaders come down.
00:28:09I'm going in from over here.
00:28:15You know, they really did these streets.
00:28:19I'm deadly afraid of covert.
00:28:21But I decided one Sunday and said, you know what?
00:28:25I'm stepping out on faith.
00:28:26I'm going down to see what it's about.
00:28:33I'm at the monument right now as we speak.
00:28:36Having big fun, man.
00:28:42Each experience I had out here has been different.
00:28:48I come early and I leave before it gets too late.
00:29:02One evening, I didn't understand what was happening when I saw like 14 police cars coming
00:29:07up in front of the area.
00:29:13And I just begged them to allow me to go to my car and leave.
00:29:17I just want to go home, please.
00:29:19I just want to go home.
00:29:23My car is on my car.
00:29:25Can you get out?
00:29:27Can you get away in your car?
00:29:28We'll be out of here just a second.
00:29:29We'll be out of here just a second.
00:29:30You can get away in your car.
00:29:32And they were very kind.
00:29:34They even helped me get out and I was gone.
00:29:39Caucasian people, white people that I've known for years are very decent people on the surface.
00:29:46I don't understand why they can't see what we're seeing.
00:29:55If anybody had told us this was going to end up happening, nobody would have believed it.
00:30:00No.
00:30:00I like to say racism out there.
00:30:02That's what it is.
00:30:04I got more black friends than I could ever imagine.
00:30:06I got one black friend that I specifically tell people that that's my brother.
00:30:09Yeah.
00:30:11And we talk about it all the time.
00:30:13It's ridiculous, man.
00:30:15People that are doing all this are just out just to wreck stuff.
00:30:17My same buddy that I called my brother, he said it too.
00:30:20He said, man, it's crazy because they say it's a Black Lives Matter thing.
00:30:23But yet they're going in and destroying old black people's businesses that live in Richmond.
00:30:28Yeah.
00:30:29You know what I mean?
00:30:31I don't know how everything got so race-oriented all of a sudden here within the past year, honestly.
00:30:40That kind of blows my mind.
00:30:44So as far as the platform or the cause that the Black Lives Matter rallies are for,
00:30:50I think raising awareness for police brutality, sure.
00:30:54If you want to focus on any aspect of it that could have a positive effect on the American people,
00:31:00you could bring up that one aspect of it.
00:31:04But it doesn't just happen to black folks.
00:31:07It happens to white folks.
00:31:08It happens to Asian folks.
00:31:10It happens across all walks of life, no matter what color you are, no matter what race you are.
00:31:19We all need to work together in a common cause to defend our freedoms.
00:31:24Not to fight against each other and empower more regulation against us.
00:31:35Black power!
00:31:36Black power!
00:31:38Black power!
00:31:39Black power!
00:31:40Black power!
00:31:40All power to the people!
00:31:41All power to the people!
00:31:42All power to the people!
00:31:43The fight is real, but it's always been here.
00:31:46Now it's to the surface in 2020.
00:31:49Now where do we go from here?
00:31:55It's mainly just for insurance purposes.
00:31:58If it did get vandalized or looted.
00:32:01It's not fair for someone like me who is trying to make this community better,
00:32:06and next thing you know, someone just takes it away and ruins the whole business itself.
00:32:14There is the racism in America, and at the moment, I think it's just getting worse.
00:32:21There's nothing wrong with protesting.
00:32:23You can protest all you want.
00:32:24We live in America.
00:32:27But when you start vandalizing small businesses, that part is wrong.
00:32:38Overnight, chaos in the streets of Chicago.
00:32:41Looting taking place around the city.
00:32:44Store windows broken, intense police presence, and fires.
00:32:48Officers now asking for the public to take a step back and work with police before more people get hurt.
00:32:54When I first woke up from my lung transplant, I was a vegetable.
00:32:58I couldn't move a finger.
00:33:00I couldn't, you know, I could barely wiggle my toes.
00:33:02I couldn't talk.
00:33:04I was like really disoriented at the time.
00:33:07I didn't realize that I was intubated, sedated for six weeks.
00:33:17The TV would be on and, you know, they would talk about all these riots that were happening and George
00:33:23Floyd and protests.
00:33:26The world was so ugly.
00:33:35Millions of people all across America are casting their votes.
00:33:38It has been a campaign year unlike any other.
00:33:41And now 100 million people have voted on record.
00:33:43Breaking early voting continues.
00:33:47I have someone else's lungs and be like a slap in the face if I didn't try my hardest.
00:33:53You're here to vote?
00:33:54Mm-hmm.
00:33:55Okay, so you're gonna go through the revolving door.
00:33:57My number one topic of interest during this election is healthcare reform.
00:34:02I started working one month after my lung transplant.
00:34:08You know, I shouldn't have to have felt obligated to do so because, you know, just because I needed my
00:34:14health insurance to recover.
00:34:21I'm gonna have to put this on now.
00:34:25You're supposed to find people that represent you.
00:34:27Donald Trump cannot represent me.
00:34:29He does not represent my beliefs.
00:34:31Of course, I can't vote for Joe Biden for the very same reason.
00:34:41I will sleep good tonight because someday, as a Christian, I believe Christ will return and all wrongs will be
00:34:49righted and justice will prevail.
00:34:51My job is to keep speaking the truth as a minister.
00:34:57Do you have a pen?
00:34:58You gotta put your address.
00:35:00It literally sits on the top.
00:35:01It's gonna invalidate if you don't sign it.
00:35:07I'm already not safe to who I voted for.
00:35:10I just want her to come back to normal.
00:35:11That's all I'm praying for, really.
00:35:14I just vote for myself.
00:35:15Or I vote for the lady.
00:35:16No, I vote for the lady.
00:35:18You voted for that lady.
00:35:19You never know her name.
00:35:20I don't know who she is, but it seems like she's the only lady, so I vote for the lady.
00:35:27I vote for the woman.
00:35:30Well, you have a right to do that.
00:35:34Joe Biden now in the lead in Pennsylvania, in the lead in Georgia.
00:35:38Putting him over the 270 electoral votes he needs.
00:35:41Joe Biden has been elected the 46th president of the United States.
00:35:45The people of this nation have spoken.
00:35:49They've delivered us a clear victory.
00:35:52A convincing victory.
00:35:59Hey!
00:36:00I was relieved to the point where it's like, okay, this step has been handled.
00:36:05Now, what's the next step?
00:36:06You know, it's not over.
00:36:07This is just the beginning.
00:36:08What do you guys think of the election?
00:36:10Oh, yeah!
00:36:11We're good.
00:36:12We're good.
00:36:13Meantime, the Trump campaign is promising a new round of lawsuits today.
00:36:18Trump tonight again falsely claiming victory.
00:36:20Still fueling his supporters, pledging it isn't over yet.
00:36:23Across the country, pro-Trump protesters gathering at state capitals.
00:36:31I really was just so sick of politics, I wanted to write in Jesus.
00:36:36But that doesn't do anything.
00:36:38So, I was surprised.
00:36:40I felt prompted to vote for Trump.
00:36:44No, we're not standing down.
00:36:45We're here.
00:36:46We're going to stand.
00:36:46We're going to stand fast.
00:36:48We're going to wait for orders.
00:36:49And when those orders come down...
00:36:53I have no regrets about voting for the Libertarian candidate.
00:36:58I'm tired of people voting for the lesser of two evils.
00:37:03It wouldn't really matter who got in office.
00:37:04I feel like they're one of the same.
00:37:07I think our culture is going to stay divided.
00:37:10The division that has been created here recently is something that we've regressed to.
00:37:17That's going to take generations to recover.
00:37:20I think our culture is going to be horribly scarred by this.
00:37:27Our country is deeply divided.
00:37:29We have class divisions.
00:37:33We have racial divisions.
00:37:35It's like there's two completely different realities.
00:37:40Anyone who thinks that the election getting called is the end of the work that needs to be done...
00:37:46...is mistaken.
00:37:50I actually need to have a statement.
00:37:53Kenny?
00:37:55Look at me.
00:37:56Mirame.
00:37:59I had to undergo this other procedure.
00:38:03And this is what it looked like after.
00:38:07Sometimes before when I used to feel so bad...
00:38:10I would have these fevers and these night chills and I'd just feel so bad.
00:38:13I'm like, what if I don't wake up in the morning?
00:38:18I'm grateful that I have my family, but I also want to have some sort of quality of life.
00:38:26I don't want to live a life where it hurts to laugh.
00:38:33There's just so much I want to do.
00:38:36Happy birthday to you.
00:38:40Happy birthday to you.
00:39:02The White House says one million people have now died from COVID-19 here in the U.S.
00:39:07The death toll is more than the number of American deaths from World War I, World War II, the Korean
00:39:12War, and the Vietnam War combined.
00:39:15We are the president.
00:39:16That's it.
00:39:18What do I do?
00:39:20Thousands of supporters of President Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol building.
00:39:24We back up!
00:39:26I will faithfully execute...
00:39:27The office of President of the United States.
00:39:30The office of President of the United States.
00:39:33That a federal grand jury has voted to indict the former president.
00:39:36The second impeachment trial is set to start tomorrow.
00:39:40Derek Chauvin guilty on all three counts.
00:39:44The state of Virginia.
00:39:45Bringing down the symbols of a hateful past.
00:39:47General Robert E. Lee.
00:39:51Roe versus Wade is overruled.
00:39:53Thousands of people today turned out to take a stand for abortion rights.
00:39:57The end of 472 days of COVID restrictions.
00:40:00Warning, however, that the virus is here to stay.
00:40:04Rising costs and recession fears are...
00:40:06Small businesses struggling to stay afloat.
00:40:09Protests against Israel's war in Gaza continue.
00:40:12It's another wedge in America's political divide.
00:40:15Donald Trump will be running for president again in 2024.
00:40:18Shots have apparently been fired.
00:40:20Failed assassination attempt at former President Donald Trump.
00:40:23President Biden takes himself out of the run for the White House.
00:40:26Kamala Harris became the first woman of color to accept the presidential nomination.
00:40:49Has our America gotten better?
00:40:53You decide.
00:40:55Because I know it hasn't been better.
00:40:59Poland was good to me, man.
00:41:01You know, I paid my dues.
00:41:04Right.
00:41:05And all that s***.
00:41:07I paid more taxes than Trump paid up here, man.
00:41:10Where's that tax money go to?
00:41:11I guess the city.
00:41:12City, okay.
00:41:13And the city, you know, folks keep the roads repaired.
00:41:16Well, the roads ain't been repaired around here.
00:41:19S***, so many pot holes and stuff around here.
00:41:21Yeah.
00:41:22Mm-hmm.
00:41:25All right.
00:41:27You coated everywhere?
00:41:33I think it's very likely that Hudson will end up in the military.
00:41:36Yeah, but he's taller than you.
00:41:38Yeah, because he's wearing heels.
00:41:40There's a bit of inner turmoil with Hudson being in the JROTC program as well as my distrust in the
00:41:49government.
00:41:52You're so much shorter, Mark.
00:41:54That's awesome.
00:41:56I want to continue encouraging, not discouraging.
00:42:00But there might be things that we don't agree with.
00:42:09We can't agree on a blow.
00:42:14Must you?
00:42:16Must stay at what?
00:42:18Make it all obvious out in here.
00:42:21You folded flags just fine back in your office.
00:42:24I usually fold them in here.
00:42:26Mm-hmm.
00:42:30presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
00:42:33I accept your nomination.
00:42:37The United States of America.
00:42:42Maybe some of you guys know me, some of you don't.
00:42:44I'm Tayo Daniel.
00:42:45One of the founders of this organization, Smart North.
00:42:48And one of the reasons why I really, I'm passionate about how can you add value to your community.
00:42:53Once you figure that out, it doesn't matter who's in office.
00:42:55You're always going to be successful because you, yourself, are valuable and you're adding value to your community.
00:43:01She's in the VR space right now, doing her thing.
00:43:04Yeah, I can't see anything in the real world right now.
00:43:07One of my solutions was creating a nonprofit to help inner city youth.
00:43:13The 10K Foundation had its time, and it ran its course, and we went our separate ways.
00:43:21I was more forward on helping the youth.
00:43:24I believe Royce was more on political moves.
00:43:28In the home of the brave.
00:43:33Woo!
00:43:36Good morning, good afternoon.
00:43:38It's good to see everybody out here.
00:43:40It's always good to see some Trump supporters.
00:43:43I'm one myself.
00:43:44Yeah, good.
00:43:46We don't like socialists.
00:43:47We don't like communists.
00:43:48We don't like Marxists.
00:43:49It's an unacceptable and incompatible form of government and ideology.
00:43:53We've got to protect our borders first.
00:43:55We can't defend everybody else's borders.
00:43:57I'm running for United States Senate here in the state of Minnesota against Amy Klobuchar,
00:44:02and I'm the Republican Party nominee.
00:44:04The mainstream media says Royce White represents a dangerous evolution and movement of the Republican
00:44:09Party nationally.
00:44:11So a lot of people who just read those headlines would think, yeah, I mean, you know, Royce
00:44:16has nothing important to say or nothing of value to say.
00:44:19You know, even though we love black men, we want to protect them, their lives matter, but
00:44:23this black man doesn't have anything important to say.
00:44:25The Second Amendment?
00:44:27Yes.
00:44:27I'm an absolutist.
00:44:29Absolutist?
00:44:29Yep.
00:44:31No Second Amendment laws.
00:44:33AR-15s.
00:44:34You should have them.
00:44:35Nice to meet you.
00:44:36Nice to meet you, sir.
00:44:37Thank you, sir.
00:44:37Appreciate it.
00:44:40I was, uh, I was not surprised, you know, that he would decide to pursue office.
00:44:48I was kind of shocked that he went so hard on the Republican side because, you know, a
00:44:54lot of the Republicans are against whatever we were protesting about.
00:44:57These are patriots here, man.
00:44:58I love it.
00:44:59The people that can help get them over.
00:45:00Drinking beer, rock and roll music, and cooking food.
00:45:02I love it.
00:45:03I love it.
00:45:04That's America right there, man.
00:45:05That's right.
00:45:23That's right.
00:45:23All right, perfect.
00:45:25Can we count on you to vote for Democrats all the way down the ticket?
00:45:28Yes, I can.
00:45:28You can count on me for that.
00:45:30Amazing.
00:45:31Amazing.
00:45:32We have the opportunity to elect a progressive Black woman as the first female president in
00:45:39the United States.
00:45:40It's a dream come true for me.
00:45:43You can see right across here all the Trump signs.
00:45:48In what is going to be the biggest political phoenix from the ashes story.
00:45:54Former President Donald Trump has won the 2024 election.
00:45:58This is a huge, historic moment.
00:46:01We will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.
00:46:05Republicans will pull off a political trifecta.
00:46:09And now we prepare for the second coming, if you will, of a Trump administration.
00:46:14America has the chance to seize this opportunity like never before.
00:46:19Trump administration's beginning mass layoffs of federal workers.
00:46:23A record number of executive orders.
00:46:25He's raising tariffs on some Canadian goods by another 10%.
00:46:29The administration wants up to $175 billion to arrest, detain, and remove more people.
00:46:45This is a grapefruit tree, lemon tree, and lime tree.
00:46:52These are both for fun and for our health post-apocalypse.
00:46:57There is really a thing called scurvy.
00:47:00It really does happen to people.
00:47:01So having citrus is super important to that.
00:47:07I'm still the same person who always wanted to be there and help.
00:47:13But I'm much more cynical about my ability to do those things.
00:47:23There was a time where I was very hopeful that we could continue a path towards justice for everybody.
00:47:33That part of me is pretty beaten down.
00:47:44No muddy boots?
00:47:46No.
00:47:47What did you see?
00:47:48I had one throw, but I shot it, but I didn't get it.
00:47:53Really?
00:47:53You shot at it?
00:47:55Good.
00:47:56I mean, is your gun open?
00:47:57Open chamber?
00:47:58Yeah.
00:47:59All right.
00:48:00You don't have your finger on that trigger, do you?
00:48:02No.
00:48:03Ada, how did school go?
00:48:04Good.
00:48:05Pops took us to school.
00:48:08What is that face for?
00:48:10Dad, you know how he is.
00:48:12He's a liberal, and he knows that we're Republicans.
00:48:19Not Republicans.
00:48:21We're, we are just conservative-minded.
00:48:26As far as my liking for Trump since he's been elected this second term, I'd say for the first six
00:48:31months, eight months, he really came in, stayed focused on policy.
00:48:35With Doge coming in, trying to actually clean up government waste, I'm like, this is, this is actually really cool.
00:48:40Chainsaw for bureaucracy.
00:48:46Barreling into vast swaths of the federal government and promising to divide and conquer what he sees as the deep
00:48:52state.
00:48:52To have an actual, efficient government is the goal.
00:49:02All right, everybody take Carter Cash.
00:49:04That's going to be Cash.
00:49:05Cash?
00:49:06Have a good night.
00:49:07Yeah, you too.
00:49:07All right.
00:49:09Okay.
00:49:11Jason, you want to get your nails done?
00:49:14Yeah.
00:49:15All right.
00:49:19Our supplies got expensive, but what we did was we bought extra supplies before we knew the tariffs were going
00:49:27to go up.
00:49:28I mean, everything went up 20, 30, 40 percent.
00:49:31The suppliers were just like, well, we don't care how much, how much the actual tariffs is.
00:49:37It just went up.
00:49:38Yeah, we're just trying not to raise any prices.
00:49:41Because, like, our client usually are, most of them are senior.
00:49:47So they, on their retirement, the bigger nail shop, like, they say that their customer is, like, stop spending money
00:49:58on, like, stuff like this.
00:50:01Short term, it's not a good move because everything just goes up overnight.
00:50:07Long term, it's supposed to help with American manufacturing.
00:50:13It's supposed to improve local economies.
00:50:18But, well, we don't know if, will it actually work?
00:50:28Are you going towards the trunk, like you talked about?
00:50:31Okay.
00:50:32Okay.
00:50:34Okay, you put it on so we can see how far we need it to reach.
00:50:39Why is there pine cones?
00:50:41Do not fall.
00:50:43It's a tree.
00:50:44Okay.
00:50:46Ooh.
00:50:47It's on weight.
00:50:48Oh.
00:50:49And then does it just cycle through the colors?
00:50:51Yeah.
00:50:53Oh, my goodness.
00:50:55How are we doing with rationing the frosting?
00:50:58Do we have enough?
00:50:58Yeah.
00:50:59Okay.
00:51:02Around this time last year, I started the process of leaving my husband.
00:51:07And that involved moving a couple of times.
00:51:11I had no clue what our long-term situation was going to be.
00:51:16And then a very kind family rented really cheap to us month to month until we ended up here at
00:51:22a home.
00:51:23Okay.
00:51:24Okay.
00:51:25He's here.
00:51:33Do you have everything you need?
00:51:35Yeah.
00:51:36I think.
00:51:38I love you.
00:51:39And I'll see you Sunday.
00:51:41See you.
00:51:45I got married one day after I turned 19.
00:51:49And so I was married more of my life than not married.
00:51:55I basically went from obeying my parents to obeying or submitting to a husband.
00:52:01People hate those words now.
00:52:02They're like trigger words.
00:52:03But, you know, just being the wife that I thought I was supposed to be.
00:52:10And I did not get to experience what life is like as an independent adult.
00:52:27Everything seems to be falling apart.
00:52:30I've been battling the house issue for a few years.
00:52:39All of this is what you're seeing now is mold.
00:52:45So all of that has to be replaced.
00:52:50This is the result of a leaky roof.
00:52:55Water got in the attic.
00:52:57And once it dried, this is where it came out at the other end.
00:53:01And now the consequences are very, very, very expensive.
00:53:10My parents always stressed independence is home ownership.
00:53:16My mother, she said, I don't care if it's a box with one bedroom.
00:53:21She said, it's something that's yours.
00:53:25I'm slowly getting on top of it, but it's definitely not easy.
00:53:31You get down and out and you feel like the balls are closing in on you.
00:53:37It's a quick thought and you just shake it off and keep it moving.
00:53:43It's rough out here.
00:53:45It breaks my heart that people that genuinely need the help,
00:53:49they can't even get the help.
00:53:59It's high school up here.
00:54:02I go outside of high school.
00:54:05You mind me asking why?
00:54:10You're a drug and alcohol.
00:54:13You said, drug and alcohol?
00:54:16Yeah.
00:54:19My son's on, I guess, meth.
00:54:25I hadn't heard from him in a couple of weeks.
00:54:33Last time I seen him, I was right here.
00:54:36Give him some food.
00:54:42Trill!
00:54:47Trill!
00:54:51You're trying to show that in my face.
00:54:52Because he's telling me I don't have to say anything to you.
00:54:56Not going to get into that.
00:55:04You know I trail?
00:55:06I'm looking for my son.
00:55:15I'm not going to give up.
00:55:17But it is awfully hard
00:55:20to know
00:55:21that my kid
00:55:23is down here.
00:55:27You know I trail?
00:55:29Huh?
00:55:31He ain't been around here?
00:55:32I'm his dad.
00:55:33I can't.
00:55:35Okay.
00:55:37All right.
00:55:42This is what my grandkids
00:55:44have to look forward to.
00:55:48Groceries
00:55:48are skyrocketing.
00:55:51Healthcare
00:55:52is out the roof.
00:56:02You got to be supportive.
00:56:06You got to be supportive.
00:56:09Yes.
00:56:10Yes.
00:56:10I support you.
00:56:13Everybody deserves a good life.
00:56:17You know?
00:56:28My community center
00:56:29has taken a big hit.
00:56:33There's youth that has reached out to me
00:56:34and said I'm scared to come there
00:56:36because some of their parents
00:56:38may have a problem
00:56:39with immigration status.
00:56:41There's just been a lot of divisiveness
00:56:42and I think that type of trauma
00:56:44just makes the whole community
00:56:46unsure and feel unsafe.
00:56:49What about mass deportations?
00:56:51Is anybody considering mass deportation?
00:56:53And do you believe
00:56:54that has to happen
00:56:55in Minneapolis?
00:56:571,000%
00:56:58with no equivocations.
00:57:00Now, I shouldn't even be able to say that
00:57:01because I'm running for U.S. Senate.
00:57:03This is Royce White's
00:57:04second time running for U.S. Senate.
00:57:07White was the GOP nominee
00:57:08for U.S. Senate in 2024 as well
00:57:11losing that election
00:57:12to Senator Amy Klobuchar.
00:57:14I'm going to run until I die.
00:57:17Because it would be dishonest
00:57:19if I didn't give
00:57:20the American people
00:57:21this message
00:57:22and this option
00:57:24when they go to cast their ballot.
00:57:28You gave an interview
00:57:30with Steve Bannon
00:57:31and you said
00:57:33and you said
00:57:35Somalis must be
00:57:37you're in support
00:57:38of mass deportation
00:57:40of Somalis.
00:57:42Yeah, I think the deportations
00:57:44must begin.
00:57:46But the MAGA movement
00:57:47is saying is
00:57:47we don't trust the process
00:57:49by which
00:57:52Somalians have immigrated
00:57:53to this country.
00:57:53We don't trust the paperwork.
00:57:55We don't trust the legitimacy
00:57:56of the process
00:57:57because we can't even trust
00:57:58our own elections.
00:58:02You're triggered.
00:58:03No, you're triggered
00:58:04because when you hear
00:58:05the word Somalian
00:58:06it does something
00:58:08to you personally.
00:58:09And I get that
00:58:09and all of us
00:58:10will have those things
00:58:11that we feel personal about
00:58:12but it doesn't change the facts.
00:58:14If you're here illegally
00:58:15you're going to back.
00:58:17Bottom line.
00:58:19That's it.
00:58:23That was classic.
00:58:26Holy cow.
00:58:39My stepmother was
00:58:40calling me
00:58:41and I'm on the phone
00:58:41and she's like
00:58:42Tayo.
00:58:43She's Nigerian
00:58:44so she has this accent
00:58:45you know.
00:58:46Tayo.
00:58:46Be careful.
00:58:47Be careful.
00:58:48I'm like what's going on?
00:58:49She's like
00:58:50they just killed somebody.
00:58:51They just killed a woman.
00:58:52They just killed a woman.
00:58:53I'm like who?
00:58:54She's like ice.
00:58:58No, no.
00:59:03Oh my God.
00:59:05What the ?
00:59:07What the ?
00:59:08You just ?
00:59:10What the do you do?
00:59:12Minneapolis is about
00:59:13to go crazy.
00:59:15Here we go again.
00:59:21There are currently
00:59:22about 2,000 ICE agents
00:59:23in the Minneapolis area.
00:59:25Can I stop on the streets?
00:59:26The Trump administration
00:59:28says it's sending
00:59:29an additional 100
00:59:30to the region
00:59:31this weekend.
00:59:32Get the...
00:59:32Out!
00:59:35Shit!
00:59:36Shit!
00:59:37Shit!
00:59:38Shit!
00:59:41Get the f*** out of here!
00:59:43R.C.
00:59:44Who's street?
00:59:45R.C.
00:59:46Who's street?
00:59:46R.C.
00:59:47Who's street?
00:59:48R.C.
00:59:49R.C.
00:59:49R.C.
00:59:50R.C.
00:59:50R.C.
00:59:54The community center is actually
00:59:55right around the corner
00:59:55from where Renee Goode was killed.
01:00:00Probably should have brought
01:00:01some flowers.
01:00:04Next time I'll bring some.
01:00:06R.C.
01:00:07R.C.
01:00:07R.C.
01:00:08R.C.
01:00:08R.C.
01:00:08R.C.
01:00:08R.C.
01:00:09R.C.
01:00:10R.C.
01:00:10R.C.
01:00:11R.C.
01:00:12R.C.
01:00:13R.C.
01:00:14My dad came from the slums, man.
01:00:16He was born in Nigeria.
01:00:20He came over here for the same reason
01:00:21everybody else is trying to come over here
01:00:23for an opportunity and a better life
01:00:24for his future children.
01:00:27I was born here in America.
01:00:29Otherwise, I might be one of those trucks right now.
01:00:35And it's just like a wake-up call
01:00:36because everybody thought, you know,
01:00:38it started to die down
01:00:39and the whole joy flow situation.
01:00:42It's sad, man.
01:00:42It's exhausting today.
01:00:56All right, so your table leader
01:00:58has got specific questions
01:01:00that they're going to ask.
01:01:02There's actually a biblical principle
01:01:04and we want to talk about that
01:01:06and it's called
01:01:06the natural law of jurisdiction.
01:01:11What would you do?
01:01:12How is the idea
01:01:13of jurisdiction
01:01:15connected to the issue
01:01:17of legitimate authority?
01:01:19Think about, like, in our world,
01:01:22legitimate authority
01:01:23that has been misused.
01:01:25When the government
01:01:26tried to shut down churches
01:01:27and churches.
01:01:28Exactly, Jana.
01:01:29They did not have the authority
01:01:32to do that, did they?
01:01:34I don't know a ton about politics.
01:01:37I don't care that much.
01:01:43I mean, it's important.
01:01:45It's very important.
01:01:46But it's not my forte.
01:01:48It's my dad's thing.
01:01:51Just a few days ago,
01:01:53the president of the United States
01:01:54ordered a combination
01:01:55of law enforcement and military
01:01:58to strike in an act of war
01:02:02the nation of Venezuela.
01:02:05Missiles were launched.
01:02:07Rockets exploded.
01:02:09Between 80 and 100 people died.
01:02:11And then our soldiers
01:02:13in combination with law enforcement
01:02:15apparently went in
01:02:16and they captured
01:02:18the president
01:02:20and his wife.
01:02:22And you have to think about that.
01:02:23You have to know how to tell
01:02:26when someone is using authority
01:02:28in a righteous and legitimate way.
01:02:31But when someone misuses authority
01:02:34and some authority
01:02:36is going outside their jurisdiction
01:02:38and when they step outside
01:02:39their jurisdiction,
01:02:40you have to say,
01:02:41okay, hold on a minute.
01:02:42All due respect.
01:02:44I'm not going to be doing that.
01:02:48This brings us to the concept
01:02:50of a big fancy word
01:02:51called imperialism.
01:02:53You stop respecting the boundaries
01:02:55and jurisdictions
01:02:56of all other nations
01:02:58and you start forcing the world
01:03:00to comply with your national will.
01:03:03And it's wrong.
01:03:04And when you flip the table
01:03:06and have that happen
01:03:07to your city
01:03:08and your nation,
01:03:10you say,
01:03:10hey, this is America.
01:03:12You don't have a right to...
01:03:13We would call that a what?
01:03:16An act of war.
01:03:27The United States
01:03:28has unleashed Operation Epic Fury
01:03:31on several targets in Iran.
01:03:37Tonight,
01:03:37Israeli and American missile strikes
01:03:39lighting up the skies
01:03:40over Iran
01:03:41for a ninth straight day.
01:03:50When you go into the Air Force,
01:03:52obviously you want to go in and fly.
01:03:54Yeah.
01:03:55Everybody that's going
01:03:56into the Air Force wants to fly.
01:03:57Like, have you given it
01:03:59any thought
01:03:59to what your backup thing would be?
01:04:04Not necessarily.
01:04:05I mean,
01:04:07flying is really fun to do.
01:04:08I mean,
01:04:10it's something peaceful,
01:04:10especially on the simulator.
01:04:12It's very peaceful to do
01:04:13and, like,
01:04:14you get to go out.
01:04:15Will it be that peaceful
01:04:15if you're being shot at
01:04:16while you're flying?
01:04:18It's just more adrenaline.
01:04:21So now you're just
01:04:22an adrenaline junkie?
01:04:24My wife and I have talked about this.
01:04:26We've talked about it with him.
01:04:29We don't like the idea
01:04:31of him going to fight a war
01:04:33as a political pawn.
01:04:37For what gain?
01:04:40Let's just say
01:04:41you get sent to war tomorrow
01:04:42in Iran
01:04:43and you're tasked
01:04:45with something that
01:04:48maybe you don't necessarily agree with.
01:04:50There's been stories
01:04:51about bombs being dropped
01:04:53on schools.
01:04:56Known civilian targets
01:05:00that are wiping out
01:05:03masses of kids.
01:05:04I don't care on what side.
01:05:05I'm just saying in general.
01:05:08Yeah, I've never really
01:05:09thought about that.
01:05:10Yeah.
01:05:18For me,
01:05:19going into the military,
01:05:21it's more about, like,
01:05:22the experience
01:05:23and what I can get from it.
01:05:26I want to know that
01:05:27I can be there
01:05:29for my parents
01:05:30and my family.
01:05:33Now, most of the times,
01:05:34all the guys that I see,
01:05:36they're scrawny, honestly.
01:05:38Like, they look like
01:05:39they couldn't put up a fight.
01:05:41And I feel like
01:05:42if you're going to be
01:05:43a man of a house one day,
01:05:44like, that is not
01:05:46how you should be.
01:05:47Being masculine
01:05:48is taking your own path
01:05:50and following
01:05:51and what you believe
01:05:52is right
01:05:53and what you want to do.
01:05:54Yes.
01:05:56I love seeing him proud.
01:06:00My boy looks good
01:06:01all dressed up
01:06:02in a uniform.
01:06:03You know?
01:06:04He's confident.
01:06:05I mean, he's...
01:06:06I'm proud of him.
01:06:09Very proud.
01:06:09And I'm...
01:06:11I'm not going to tell him
01:06:13he can't do something,
01:06:16but I also want him
01:06:17to be fully informed.
01:06:31We're going to get dropped
01:06:32off at 918.
01:06:33Is that going to give you...
01:06:35That's fine.
01:06:36...enough?
01:06:36That's fine.
01:06:40Okay, I'm going to message
01:06:41the guy
01:06:43that we're meeting.
01:06:44Yep.
01:06:45Edmundo?
01:06:46Hi.
01:06:47Hi.
01:06:48Christine.
01:06:49Okay.
01:06:51Right now,
01:06:52my husband and I
01:06:53are pursuing
01:06:53residency
01:06:54in Mexico.
01:06:56Okay.
01:06:57Bye.
01:06:58Good luck.
01:06:59Good luck.
01:07:00We need a place to go
01:07:02if things just don't go
01:07:03the way we want them to go.
01:07:06We are constantly looking
01:07:08and reassessing
01:07:10and watching
01:07:10and want to be ready
01:07:12should that time come.
01:07:15Yay!
01:07:17Where's your card?
01:07:18It's in my pocket.
01:07:19Okay.
01:07:20Awesome.
01:07:21So excited.
01:07:29Dear Heavenly Father,
01:07:31please be with the kids
01:07:32while they are away
01:07:32that they will be protected
01:07:34and have a good time
01:07:35and feel thy love
01:07:36and guidance.
01:07:38I have totally new
01:07:40compassion and understanding
01:07:41for the people
01:07:42I've spoke with
01:07:42that say
01:07:43they stopped going to church
01:07:45because they've lost trust
01:07:46in institutions.
01:07:48I sought help
01:07:49from religious leaders
01:07:51in regards to
01:07:52struggles in my marriage
01:07:54and there was a lot
01:07:55of pain and bitterness
01:07:56involved
01:07:57when I was processing
01:07:58um,
01:08:01sorry,
01:08:02just looking back
01:08:04at how much
01:08:05I was suffering
01:08:06and hurting
01:08:07and um,
01:08:11it was minimized
01:08:13and not fully understood.
01:08:17So when we talk
01:08:18about faith,
01:08:19I don't think
01:08:19about religion.
01:08:20Religion has failed me.
01:08:25Are you excited?
01:08:27You know where we're going?
01:08:29My former spouse,
01:08:31he hated dogs,
01:08:32so I love having
01:08:33a dog in the house.
01:08:34I wanted one
01:08:35ever since I was a kid.
01:08:38I'm going to school.
01:08:39I now have a degree in mind
01:08:41that I want to get
01:08:42having to do
01:08:42with family services
01:08:43to help families
01:08:45that are going
01:08:45through tough times.
01:08:47Okay, do you want me
01:08:48to throw it?
01:08:49We'll get it.
01:08:50I am now
01:08:51Amy Kelly
01:08:53and officially divorced,
01:08:56mom of six kids,
01:08:58loving life.
01:09:04Good morning.
01:09:06How are you?
01:09:07I'm good.
01:09:13My dad hired me
01:09:15to oversee
01:09:16our educational operations
01:09:19at our church.
01:09:20Class begins
01:09:21on Friday,
01:09:23November the 6th,
01:09:24and then I'm going
01:09:25to hit okay.
01:09:26I love sitting
01:09:27with my dad
01:09:28and getting to learn
01:09:30from him.
01:09:31He's so wise
01:09:31in so many areas.
01:09:33I don't have a lot
01:09:34of experience
01:09:35with this,
01:09:35but it needs
01:09:38to be done.
01:09:39It needs to be done.
01:09:41I had wanted
01:09:42to be a doctor
01:09:43when I graduated.
01:09:45At the end
01:09:46of the day,
01:09:47I would rather
01:09:47be in the will
01:09:49of God
01:09:50than be selfish
01:09:52and do what I
01:09:54would prefer
01:09:55because I would
01:09:56really be miserable
01:09:56if I was just
01:09:58only doing
01:09:59what I wanted.
01:10:03Ella exhibits
01:10:05leadership
01:10:05and courage
01:10:06and confidence.
01:10:08I think
01:10:09she would make
01:10:10a wonderful
01:10:11pastor's wife,
01:10:12and I think
01:10:13that probably
01:10:14that's going
01:10:15to be her role.
01:10:15amazing grace
01:10:20how sweet
01:10:22the sun
01:10:24that saved
01:10:26a wretch
01:10:29like me
01:10:33I once
01:10:35was lost
01:10:37but now
01:10:39I am found
01:10:41I was blind
01:10:44but now
01:10:46I see
01:10:49I'm supposed
01:10:50to serve my dad
01:10:52and I think
01:10:54I'm supposed
01:10:54to marry
01:10:54a pastor
01:10:55and that is
01:10:56an honorable role.
01:10:58I don't
01:10:59see that as
01:11:00lesser in any way.
01:11:04Look at this.
01:11:06Oh my God.
01:11:08My granddaughter
01:11:09Coriel.
01:11:10I want to be able
01:11:11to, you know,
01:11:12spend time with her
01:11:13and, you know,
01:11:14and do ice cream.
01:11:16Okay, I go run.
01:11:17Okay, go put on
01:11:19some socks
01:11:19and some sneakers.
01:11:23It's just hard, man.
01:11:25I never thought
01:11:25that, you know,
01:11:27life would be hard
01:11:28but it really is.
01:11:32And the people
01:11:32that think it's not
01:11:34they got given
01:11:35some stuff.
01:11:36They got a head start.
01:11:39I got a second job
01:11:45just to be able
01:11:46to be in position
01:11:47to help.
01:11:51I'm praying
01:11:51for a break.
01:11:56Yeah, there it is.
01:11:59But at least
01:12:00it didn't get down.
01:12:02Hold on,
01:12:02go back to this photo.
01:12:04It doesn't look like
01:12:05all that black mold
01:12:06on the ceiling.
01:12:07It doesn't look like
01:12:08it came down
01:12:08into the walls.
01:12:09Yeah.
01:12:10Look at all the mold
01:12:11and the insulation.
01:12:12I saw a gentleman
01:12:14named Mark
01:12:15on the film.
01:12:17My name is Mark Curtis.
01:12:19I own a construction company.
01:12:21And then I've discovered
01:12:23that he was from
01:12:24the outskirts of Richmond.
01:12:26Oh yeah, look at this
01:12:27all washed out over here.
01:12:28Yeah, oh yeah.
01:12:30That washed out
01:12:31before.
01:12:31Oh, good grief.
01:12:32Huh?
01:12:32That's bad.
01:12:33Yeah.
01:12:34You want to have
01:12:35stairs rebuilt
01:12:36in this thing?
01:12:37What do you think?
01:12:38I mean, it'd probably
01:12:40be nice if you're
01:12:40trying to come down
01:12:41in the yard
01:12:42from up there.
01:12:43I say yes then.
01:12:45I saw you
01:12:46in an interview.
01:12:47Which one?
01:12:48I don't know
01:12:49what one I saw
01:12:50but, you know,
01:12:51we don't agree
01:12:52on a lot of things.
01:12:54It don't matter.
01:12:55But at the end
01:12:57of the day...
01:12:58It's human nature.
01:12:59At the end
01:13:00of the day,
01:13:01life is life.
01:13:02I just personally
01:13:04have this mindset
01:13:05that anybody
01:13:06really wants Trump
01:13:07wants America
01:13:08white again.
01:13:09I said,
01:13:09but trust me,
01:13:10it ain't gonna
01:13:10never be white again.
01:13:12Yeah, see,
01:13:12I don't see that
01:13:13and I don't think
01:13:14that that's the case.
01:13:16It's an undertone
01:13:18message sent
01:13:19to the white folks
01:13:20saying...
01:13:21You think so?
01:13:22I clearly do.
01:13:23Make America
01:13:23great again
01:13:24is clearly that.
01:13:26I clearly,
01:13:27strongly believe
01:13:28and I didn't budge
01:13:30from it
01:13:30that make America
01:13:32great again
01:13:32is make it white again.
01:13:34We didn't agree.
01:13:37My father served
01:13:38his country
01:13:38and the best job
01:13:39he could get
01:13:40was a janitor.
01:13:41It was that era
01:13:42where black people
01:13:43just couldn't,
01:13:44you know,
01:13:45we weren't on the spectrum
01:13:46to be much more
01:13:47than what they wanted
01:13:48us to be.
01:13:49I think that still
01:13:50happens today.
01:13:51Oh, hell yeah, it happened.
01:13:52Well, no, no,
01:13:53I'm just talking
01:13:54about our service members,
01:13:55our service members
01:13:55and I don't care,
01:13:56you know,
01:13:56white, black, indifferent,
01:13:57whatever.
01:13:58I think so many...
01:13:59We agree that race,
01:14:01race relations
01:14:02is a problem
01:14:03and it's been existing
01:14:04for a long time.
01:14:06At least I agreed
01:14:07to that,
01:14:08that it was.
01:14:09Well, it was supposed
01:14:10to be about
01:14:11controlling our border,
01:14:13getting fuel prices lowered,
01:14:14getting our interest rates down.
01:14:16That's how he,
01:14:17that's how he advertised it.
01:14:19Well, where has that gone now?
01:14:23How much does it cost
01:14:24you to fill up your car now?
01:14:25I drive...
01:14:26$60, $70.
01:14:28It took me over an hour
01:14:29to drive here this morning.
01:14:30Talk about the fuel
01:14:31I'm using up every day.
01:14:32Yeah.
01:14:33All right, Miss Lewis,
01:14:34I'm going.
01:14:34I'm off to my next appointment.
01:14:36I'll see you.
01:14:37Bye.
01:14:37Bye.
01:14:40I would say
01:14:41I am surprised
01:14:42at how...
01:14:47devoted she is.
01:14:48I guess you could say
01:14:53to the racial divide.
01:15:03You know,
01:15:03perhaps she
01:15:06has a very different perspective
01:15:08of that
01:15:08just based on
01:15:09her experience.
01:15:13and people who do
01:15:14have differing opinions
01:15:15should be able
01:15:16to talk and listen,
01:15:18not just talk.
01:15:21So I thought
01:15:22it was a good meeting.
01:15:26One hundred days
01:15:28until the midterm elections.
01:15:30Redistricting
01:15:31could bolster
01:15:32Republicans.
01:15:32Democrats are pursuing
01:15:33five extra seats.
01:15:34Rising support
01:15:35for Democratic socialism.
01:15:37Americans no longer
01:15:38trust the very
01:15:38industries and institutions
01:15:40that keep the country
01:15:41afloat.
01:15:49I'm weighing out
01:15:50Republican, Democrat,
01:15:51and Libertarian
01:15:52because those are
01:15:52the three options
01:15:53for the primaries
01:15:55and going to
01:15:56select them
01:15:57according to
01:15:57which individual
01:15:58I feel is best,
01:15:59not the label.
01:16:03Our founding fathers
01:16:04built this country
01:16:05on independence
01:16:06and they didn't
01:16:08just want independence
01:16:09as far as they agreed.
01:16:10They wanted everybody
01:16:11to have their own
01:16:12beliefs, opinions,
01:16:13and thoughts.
01:16:15Freedom means
01:16:16being able to
01:16:17think, act, speak,
01:16:20wish, dream,
01:16:22breathe,
01:16:23anything as you
01:16:24want,
01:16:26uninhibited.
01:16:41I haven't really
01:16:42paid attention
01:16:43to midterms really
01:16:44because we have
01:16:45a lot of stuff
01:16:46going on.
01:16:59but hopefully
01:17:00there's some sort
01:17:01of change
01:17:02that you can
01:17:03actually see.
01:17:05Just a little bit
01:17:06of help here
01:17:07and there
01:17:07would help
01:17:08the middle class
01:17:08really.
01:17:10First in the beginning
01:17:11all the parents
01:17:13first come here
01:17:14they're having
01:17:14a hard life
01:17:15but then when
01:17:16the kid grow up
01:17:17their life
01:17:18is going to get
01:17:19easier.
01:17:21I want to give birth
01:17:22to a child
01:17:23that have an easy life
01:17:24like
01:17:25because
01:17:26I work hard.
01:17:29Over the time
01:17:30everything will be better.
01:17:39I don't want
01:17:40government handouts
01:17:40for anything.
01:17:41Where you had it?
01:17:43There you go.
01:17:44All right.
01:17:46I want to know
01:17:46who is truly
01:17:48going to look out
01:17:48for the best interest
01:17:51of not just my family
01:17:52but it should be
01:17:53all families.
01:17:54How can I best
01:17:55take care of my family?
01:18:00M-I-T-A-Y-O.
01:18:04All right.
01:18:05Let's do it.
01:18:06We're going to trade.
01:18:07I got some hot
01:18:07commodity for you.
01:18:09All right.
01:18:11There we go.
01:18:13I watch my family
01:18:15work very hard.
01:18:16Thank you guys.
01:18:17Not only for their
01:18:17citizenship
01:18:18but to acclimate
01:18:19in this country
01:18:20and I want people
01:18:21to represent that.
01:18:22I want the people
01:18:22who understand that
01:18:24and who support that
01:18:25to be the ones
01:18:26that are in office.
01:18:28I did not vote
01:18:30for Royce Wright
01:18:30this time around.
01:18:31I wish him the best
01:18:32of luck
01:18:32and I wish him
01:18:34nothing but success
01:18:34but I definitely
01:18:35disagree with
01:18:36many of his views.
01:18:41The Republican Party
01:18:43of Minnesota
01:18:43calling on
01:18:44U.S. Senate candidate
01:18:45Royce White,
01:18:46one of their own,
01:18:48to suspend his campaign.
01:18:50A Minnesota judge
01:18:51ruled there were
01:18:52credible evidence
01:18:53of threats of harm
01:18:54toward his ex-wife
01:18:55and his son.
01:18:56White has since gone
01:18:57on the offensive today
01:18:58sounding off
01:18:59in several social media
01:19:00posts denying
01:19:01the accusations.
01:19:05No, I mean
01:19:05it's a farce though.
01:19:07Asking me to step down
01:19:08from the campaign
01:19:11has nothing to do
01:19:12with the case.
01:19:13It's, you know,
01:19:15it's something
01:19:15they wanted anyway
01:19:16which is,
01:19:17they're irrelevant anyway.
01:19:19Minnesota Republican Party
01:19:20is irrelevant.
01:19:37The biggest thing
01:19:38that's coming up
01:19:39that has my attention
01:19:40is the midterm elections.
01:19:42It's going to tell us
01:19:44a lot about
01:19:46what the next steps are
01:19:48and what the direction
01:19:49is going to be.
01:19:56Buenos dias!
01:20:03I'm still in the wait
01:20:06and see phase
01:20:07in terms of
01:20:08whether or not
01:20:09I want to leave
01:20:09the United States
01:20:10permanently.
01:20:13It's slower here.
01:20:20I just have to make
01:20:21that conscious choice
01:20:22to turn the TV off,
01:20:24put my phone down
01:20:27and breathe.
01:20:46It might be my PTSD
01:20:48speaking a little bit
01:20:49but, you know,
01:20:51it's almost inevitable
01:20:53in these times
01:20:54not to have some form
01:20:55of hurt and pain
01:20:57and struggle
01:20:57that people go through
01:20:58regardless of your
01:20:59socioeconomic status.
01:21:02I think I figured it out.
01:21:06I'm going to paint the lips
01:21:08with some of the smile open
01:21:10so it's going to be
01:21:10a smile like this
01:21:12and these white words
01:21:13will be like the teeth.
01:21:15Yeah.
01:21:21One day I'm going to make
01:21:22a piece
01:21:23that somebody else
01:21:24wants us to feel
01:21:25those feelings
01:21:26and then to do something
01:21:27for them
01:21:27and it can live
01:21:28far beyond me.
01:21:31You've seen artwork
01:21:31throughout history
01:21:32used for all different
01:21:33type of activism,
01:21:35you know,
01:21:36freedom of expression.
01:21:38It's the pulse
01:21:39of the community.
01:21:45Just like a human body
01:21:47can have emotions.
01:21:56I feel that a body
01:21:58of people
01:21:58can have emotions.
01:22:10I feel like people forget
01:22:11how to be neighbors
01:22:13by somebody who may not
01:22:14have the same background
01:22:15as you
01:22:15and people are forgetting
01:22:17how to love somebody
01:22:18that may not love you.
01:22:21I think sometimes
01:22:22we look too much
01:22:23on a larger level
01:22:26and we forget
01:22:27about the little things.
01:22:57about the establishing
01:22:58policies and
01:22:58that might be
01:22:58a
