00:03Russia will not succeed in forcing Ukraine to surrender through a deal with Washington as Europe will continue to back
00:09Kiev.
00:10EU foreign policy chief Kayakal has told your own news ahead of a new summit in Brussels.
00:15Russians want to discuss and negotiate with US so that US would deliver them what they want.
00:21So, you know, Europe is just a nuisance here. But actually, you know, we have our own requests for Russia
00:29because they have started this war.
00:32Clearly, you know, the message is there that, you know, you need to talk to the Europeans as well.
00:38US President Donald Trump has recently announced a diesel deal and energy ceasefire under which Russia would supply 300,000
00:46tons of diesel to the US and global markets.
00:49The diesel deal is definitely a gift to Putin. The question is, what is he giving in return?
00:57What we see, he's actually increasing the attacks on the civilian and civilian infrastructure.
01:02The ceasefire that was also announced is not really working on the Russian side.
01:07Karas reiterated that international pressure should be placed on the aggressor to end the war rather than on the victim
01:13to surrender.
01:18EU leaders are meeting in Brussels to attend a today's summit.
01:22Energy prices, trade with China and the budget will dominate Thursday's agenda.
01:27Leaders are under pressure to address soaring oil and gas prices.
01:30On energy, it's clear that we need short-term measures because we have to guarantee cheap energy prices for people
01:43and companies.
01:44But we need to take care of climate targets.
01:48Meanwhile, Bulgarian Prime Minister Roumen Radev broke ranks and backed Trump's diesel deal with Putin.
01:55You know what is our problem right now in Europe? High fuel prices. Any step in reducing the fuel prices
02:02and to guarantee our competitiveness, we appreciate it.
02:06EU leaders are also set to discuss the EU's long-term budget proposal worth around 2 trillion euros, which is
02:13facing backlash from frugal countries such as Germany.
02:30Trade with China will also be discussed after the European Commission struck a deal last week to cap Chinese car
02:36exports.
02:40A heavy downpour has shut down Istanbul, flooding homes and roads and killing at least two people in what officials
02:47said on Thursday was the heaviest rainfall in the city since records began more than 80 years ago.
02:53Rescuers worked overnight to save hundreds of people stranded at their workplaces while bystanders helped countless others.
03:01The rain began lashing Turkey's largest city on Wednesday morning and intensified throughout the day, causing chaos and flash flooding
03:09with footage showing cars being dragged away by the fast-flowing waters.
03:13Two people died in the floods.
03:15The 14-year-old was electrocuted after stepping in a puddle at a park and a 34-year-old slipped
03:21on a sidewalk and hit their head.
03:23The governor's office said education would be suspended on Thursday and some state employees would be placed on leave.
03:30It advised residents to stay home unless travel was absolutely necessary and for people living in basement apartments to spend
03:37the night elsewhere.
03:43After more than two weeks of camping out in Puerto del Sol, fatigue is beginning to set in among the
03:49protesters demanding solutions to Spain's housing crisis.
03:52Amid tents and awnings, they've created a small community right in the heart of Madrid where they distribute food donated
03:59by citizens of access to healthcare and work together to keep the area clean.
04:04But conditions are difficult. They don't have their own restrooms and many barely sleep.
04:09Even so, they say that solidarity and mutual support give them the strength to carry on.
04:14I would say that we are the most tired, but also more organized and more ilusioned.
04:20This is the table where we ask the donations of food and other materials that the camping needs.
04:27And the people of Madrid come here and bring it to us.
04:31Meanwhile, institutional pressure to end the protest is mounting.
04:34The community of Madrid has announced that it will exhaust all legal avenues to secure the eviction after the High
04:41Court of Justice rejected its request.
04:44With this system we can't have aspirations.
04:46Many of our children and children have had to go to London, Paris, to look for life, to Amsterdam.
04:53And that's why this is an act of presence, of pressure.
04:56We are pushing this regime, this system.
04:59Of course we are pushing this regime, this system.
05:00Of course we are going to go there, we are going to go there pausadamente and when we arrive to
05:02a agreement.
05:03But it's that they don't negotiate.
05:05They're going to go there, they're going to go there, they're going to go there.
05:07As you can see here, behind me, the campfire continues here in the Puerta del Sol, in the heart of
05:14Madrid.
05:14The majority of the manifestants have been installed here since the last 26th of September
05:19and aseguran that they won't march until they hear their vindications.
05:24Their goal is to visible the crisis of the living house in Spain in a moment of special tension
05:30to the doors of the general elections of the next month of November.

05:40A new four-lane road bridge linking China and North Korea opened on Thursday,
05:4612 years after it was completed, enabling the Asian giants and its nuclear armed neighbor
05:52to potentially step up cross-border trade.
05:55Hundreds of people gathered on Thursday in the northern Chinese border town of Dadong,
06:01taking selfies in front of the 3,026-meter New Yalu River vehicle bridge before it opened.
06:08Trucks bearing the nation's flags began moving in both directions late in the morning
06:14with some of the North Korean vehicles decorated with flowers.
06:18Chinese Premier Li Qiang said the bridge symbolized Beijing's friendship with Pyongyang
06:25and that relations were, quote, entering a new stage and opening a new chapter.
06:32The structure was completed in 2014, but its opening was delayed due to a lack of connecting roads
06:39and customs facilities on the North Korean side.
06:46A small club playing among Europe's best.
06:49The city of Torres Vedras, just under an hour from Lisbon,
06:53is buzzing with excitement over achievements of its local club,
06:57following its victory in Norway against Lillestrom.
07:01Terence makes its home debut against Sunderland.
07:04At the Torres Vedras market, support for the local team is palpable.
07:08Many still can't believe that the club, which plays in Portugal's second division,
07:13is competing in European competitions.
07:15I've never expected this.
07:17Maybe it'll never happen again, I don't know.
07:20I think it'll be true.
07:21But this is an incredible feat.
07:24For the city, for the club, and for the athletes, this is wonderful.
07:30I'm very happy.
07:33He's ready to play well and win.
07:36I'm very happy.
07:37He's ours.
07:39Against all odds, Terence also won the men's Portuguese Cup last season,
07:45defeating Sporting in the final.
07:47A trophy on display at the club's museum is a source of pride for the town.
07:51I brought a lot of people here at the museum who had never come,
07:54and also people who already know and always come to see the news.
07:58They're very anxious to see the table as they come, of course.
08:02And also to our store, which we have, in addition to the stadium,
08:05we also have one here.
08:07There's a lot of people who are interested to come to support Torriense.
08:13At the stadium store, merchandise related to the European League campaign
08:17is selling like hotcakes.
08:21The hope never dies.
08:23The hope never dies.
08:24The hope is that we will win.
08:26And so, the Torriense is there.
08:28At the end of me is the Municipal Manoel Marques.
08:32This is the historic house of Torriense.
08:34However, it's a very small stadium to receive the European games.
08:38The European games in the home of Torriense for the European League.
08:41They are 80 km from here, in Leiria.
08:44The stadium is prepared for the European games.
08:47Here in Torres Vedras,
08:49but few people ever dreamt that the world,
08:51a second division of Portuguese,
08:53would be so far.
08:55It's true that winning a Premier League team
08:58is not easy, but the faith is the most important.
09:01The game with the Sunderland
09:03is marked for this Wednesday,
09:06at 17h45.

09:15Scientists at Stanford University discovered a way to prevent bleach corals from dying
09:21by placing them in contact with healthy corals for a few days.
09:25When water becomes too hot, corals expel microscopic algae that provide much of their energy.
09:32This is called bleaching.
09:34Global bleaching occurs roughly every five to six years,
09:37leaving reefs with less time to recover between periods of extreme heat.
09:41However, scientists found that when a bleached coral touches a healthy, identical coral,
09:47they fuse together.
09:48This allows algae and nutrients to pass from one to the other.
09:53While this is a huge breakthrough,
09:55scientists say the technique is not ready for wide-scale applications in the ocean.
09:59The corals must be genetically identical for the tissue to fuse,
10:03meaning every damaged coral would need a healthy copy of itself.
10:08Researchers now hope to find a way to deliver algae without requiring direct contact or identical copies.
10:52We're really honoured to have over 20 works of national treasure and treasures in the exhibitions.
10:58And these are government-designated special objects that are so significant
11:03in terms of the cultural and historical value that they have a special protection status.
11:09And it's extremely rare that these objects travel outside of Korea.
11:13So we're really, really honoured to have these special loans on display.
11:19We will see you.
11:20There we go.
11:44Thanks, thank you.
