00:00Have you heard about the man with the golden heart in the Bible?
00:04His real name was Joseph, but everyone called him Barnabas.
00:08It means son of encouragement, and he lived up to that name.
00:13In the book of Acts, chapter 4, the early church was in need.
00:18While others held tight to what they owned, Barnabas owned a piece of land.
00:23He sold it.
00:24He then took all the money and placed it at the feet of the apostles to help the poor and
00:30feed the hungry.
00:31He asked for nothing in return.
00:34No spotlight, no praise.
00:37Later, when no one trusted the apostle Paul because of his past, it was Barnabas who stood up for him.
00:44It was Barnabas who believed in him.
00:47That is a golden heart.
00:50A heart that gives generously and loves people when no one else will.
