00:00dodgers uh in that all-important down two games to none that's game number three here blake snell
00:07to the rescue maybe uh but yeah i would say uh otani in the lineup uh after hearing how they
00:16might not have him in the lineup yeah very very weird uh situation with otani who it seemed like
00:24had to make excuses for him playing in that press conference that he did very strange uh you know
00:31impromptu discussion with reporters almost seemingly like maybe a decision was made and
00:37then changed look i can only uh you know sort of look at this intuitively but you know since otani
00:44has doesn't speak and uh you know often and doesn't really have to for him to do this sort of
00:49tells me
00:49that he's putting a lot of it on him and maybe it's his decision because it certainly feels like
00:54the dodgers probably need to go in another direction based on how he's playing but
00:57you know their options are thin you know waking up this morning looking at what we have in store i
01:03think tomorrow in particular for those of you who watch the show i think tomorrow is going to be
01:06great because we're going to have the al wrapping up we're going to have the nl uh in progress while
01:11we're doing the show and then we have of course thursday night football so tonight a lot of uh you
01:16know just talk with you and i only really one big game i think in store and that of course
01:20will be
01:21the national league championship series where it's uh you know winner go home for la i mean there's
01:25no doubt about that they don't win this one they're not going to win the nlcs and uh blake
01:29snell will pitch of course and and look i i think that it's been pretty obvious to me what has
01:36really happened in a lot of these postseason games we've had uh one big comeback from uh the
01:42brewers in the postseason but looking at some of the stats and the data today it really tells the
01:47story that these games uh are pretty much over with whoever's scoring first that's what's been
01:53going on in this in all of the postseason so far 19 and 10 on whoever scores first and so
01:59it really
01:59shocked me to see that because usually scoring first can give you a percentage of well above 500
02:05but almost 70 percent of the teams uh right now are winning that way so that's just something to
02:11look for tonight if la scores first on gasser maybe that's a good indicator in terms of them
02:17winning but uh yeah for us uh you know i i think probably you and i will be uh talking
02:22a lot just
02:23about different issues and injuries and spreads and things going on and then tomorrow we've got like
02:27some incredible action i mean for for it feels like 1978 all over again joe you got the alcs playing
02:34at one you got the nlcs played at six and of course that game's really at three so uh sunshine
02:41for both
02:42the alcs and nlcs i'm gonna guess two games have not been played under sunshine in 20 years in the
02:51american league and national league in the same day uh for at this point the weather caused it obviously
02:56for if we didn't indicate that earlier but joe it reminds me of like 80s 80s baseball you know these
03:03games were played during the day the nlcs and we're back to that again yeah i did tomorrow it'll
03:11be fun they made the announcements early enough so they are banking on mother nature playing a role
03:17i mean what was that six o'clock that game was supposed to be in cleveland and they moved that
03:22thing all the way up uh to one o'clock so keep an eye uh on the forecast and the
03:27uh weather a little
03:28cooler obviously uh in cleveland that it will be in la and you know 80s here tonight at the first
03:36pitch
03:36five o'clock uh well five o'clock pacific time eight o'clock eastern time when this game goes off
03:42so
03:42uh it'll be a warmer night there in la for this uh for this game three and i and listen
03:51there is a lot
03:52of different ways this can go i dave roberts feels like at this point he's open to mixing and matching
03:57and shuffling and doing whatever he can to try and jumpstart this offense which has not been good
04:04and it's been terrible against left handers i mean i i did uh i went and checked all of it
04:11you mentioned it last night i mean they are in their last 29 at bats against left-handed pitching
04:18they've walked twice and are 0 for 27 yeah i i that's just mind-numbing to me that they are
04:25that
04:26bad against the left and this goes back to the brave series as well there in that final game but
04:32lefties have not been their strong point not that they were crushing them during the regular season but
04:370 for 27 in their last 29 appearances with just two walks there's a problem there is there not
04:45well look some of it not all of it but some of it i don't know what percentage if it's
04:50five five
04:51percent or ten percent i wouldn't go higher than that but joe you don't have to worry about otani in
04:56the lineup at all like that's a game changer for these other teams who's batting in front of him
05:01who's batting behind him you always were scared when otani was coming was coming up and it didn't
05:06matter if otani was facing a lefty or righty but the guy is not hitting at all i mean those
05:11look at
05:11those numbers 150 hasn't driven in a run in the playoffs and and i still believe that every year
05:18he plays he's the mvp including this one i'm wrong and p kromstrong's gonna win i still think otani to
05:23me growing up as a kid thinking that somebody could do what he's doing even in limited fashion i would
05:28have given him mvp every year i still stick by that uh but that being said it's probably boomer bus
05:34tonight as you called the last couple of games if the dodgers hit three home runs tonight they win
05:39and if they hit one home run tonight i think they're gonna lose and i think that i think that's
05:43the way it's going because they are just boomer bus with the home runs they got fortunate with
05:49henderson throwing the ball away from milwaukee and a couple of errors but beyond that i literally don't
05:55know what anybody is seeing with the dodgers right now joe like like what are the why should they be
05:59such a big favorite tonight even for that matter like they may win tonight like and i get it and
06:04and and this is their best opportunity but i am stunned that the dodgers are this big a favorite
06:10against what i deem is the best team in baseball
06:12you
