00:00Aston Martin has just revealed the Valon which is their most powerful front engine production car
00:05ever for them and I think for the entire industry with 838 horsepower thanks to a revised version
00:12of the Vanquish twin turbo V12. So it follows the Valor and the Valiant but unfortunately
00:18unlike both of those this one runs an automatic transmission not the six-speed manual that those
00:24had and they do say that at least it gets some quicker shifts derived from the Vantage GT4
00:29race car for the tuning for that ZF8 speed trans axle that it has. So I guess you know just
00:35doing
00:35104 more horsepower than the Valiant was just too much for them to hook up to the manual that's
00:40often been the case with OEMs even though the aftermarket can do it from a car company standpoint
00:45being able to pair up that much power with a manual seems to be problematic for just about
00:50everybody so I think that's probably a part of it but it is 14 more horsepower than the Vanquish so
00:57not a huge upgrade as far as that goes but you know it is getting the title there of the
01:01most
01:02powerful front engine supercar and also it looks like this vehicle is based on the Vanquish as well
01:08although it looks like it does have a unique body but the core platform underneath is shared with that
01:14it seems. There also are some other tweaks in addition to obviously the completely new styling
01:19which is also carbon fiber for the body by the way but on the inside you do get a unique
01:24center console
01:25area there that's been simplified and you know a few other tweaks but again shares some stuff with
01:30the Vanquish for sure. This car though is significantly lighter than the Vanquish 242 pounds lighter to be
01:36exact when you get the optional lightweight suspension pack which gives you machined aluminum
01:40suspension arms and knuckles along with titanium chassis bolts and 21 inch magnesium wheels. There's
01:47also unique springs, Bilstein DTX dampers and a solid mounted rear subframe and everything has been
01:53retuned of course to take advantage of all that. The whole body though is carbon fiber and that
01:58certainly helps to lower the weight over Vanquish as well and this all adds up to a quicker three
02:02seconds zero to 60 mile per hour time and a top speed of 214 miles per hour and there's massive
02:08carbon
02:08ceramic brakes to slow it all down. The V12's roar will also be a good bit louder than Vanquish
02:14actually 50% louder to be exact according to Aston Martin thanks to a new titanium exhaust system
02:20that's been like 3D printed and also it has unique exits there so you'll see that has this very
02:26unconventional setup where you have the two lower ones but also two higher ones because who needs a
02:32trunk in a car like this right so it gives it that mid-engine look without being mid-engine and
02:37they say
02:38that they are able to get that increase in volume even with this being street legal in Europe where you
02:44know they have these tightening drive-by noise regulations. They basically said they made the volume
02:49higher in those lower RPMs so that means that you know in the upper end it might not be much
02:54louder
02:55than a Vanquish but it's more so just whenever you're around town driving you're going to hear
02:59this thing coming for sure and also that means that the people inside the vehicle get more sound
03:05according to Aston Martin because of those higher mounted exhaust tips there too. So very cool the way
03:10they're thinking outside the box here with this that's very fun. So yes only 150 of these will be
03:15made and honestly that's more than I was expecting but 150 and no price was given but rumors suggest
03:21it'll be around 2 million dollars to start before the options that you'll be able to get on these
03:26and so I mean it looks awesome it's very aggressive very cool but I wonder if this one will be
03:32as
03:32successful as the others without the manual and on that note you know this car is cool for sure
03:38but it was a little disappointing. I was hoping that Aston you know would do something that's more for
03:44mainstream Aston buyers instead of just another one of these exclusive high-end things I mean that
03:49should be good money for Aston and whatever gets them the most money possible because they need it
03:53right now I'm all for but you know I'd still love to see you know manuals come back to the
03:58regular range
03:59I'd love to see it for Vanquish I'd love to see it for Vantage also love to see you know
04:04the V12 come
04:04back to the Vantage that's something they did for the you know pre-refresh Vantage they said that was the
04:09last one ever you know back whenever they thought the emissions regulations were gonna you know stop that
04:13but now that that's been loosened up you know that's what I was expecting this year honestly
04:17was the V12 Vantage but you know maybe that is still coming down the road or maybe it never will
04:22and they'll stick to the last one being the actual last one but even you know putting the V12 in
04:27the
04:27DBX so it better competes with Ferrari per a song way I think would be a great idea or even
04:31a V12 in
04:32the Valhalla maybe it wouldn't fit but you know for people who thought that the Valkyrie was a little
04:37too hardcore Valhalla could give you you know a really cool V12 mid-engine supercar
04:42with again existing parts I'm sure it probably just isn't engineered to fit in there but
04:46I'd love to see them shoehorn that into that as well so you know lots of other things that I
04:51think
04:51would be you know able to be enjoyed by more people than these super exclusive things so we'll see but
04:58you know because I think those things would just actually increase the appeal of you know Aston
05:02Martin and also this the volumes for Aston Martin you know even if maybe the profit per car isn't as
05:08high
05:08as it is on these two million dollar things that's the stuff I'm hoping for from Aston hopefully
05:13that'll all come in time maybe it won't we'll see what happens but anyway that's all of my thoughts
05:17and all the info here on the Aston Martin Valen let me know your thoughts on it in the comments
05:21below
05:21and if you're looking to see one of these at Cars and Coffee near you these will be arriving in
05:25the
05:25second quarter of 2027 but thanks so much for watching this one and I'll see you guys on the next
05:29one
05:29take care
