00:00David Bednar is out there, right?
00:01Yeah, I think they'll put the qualifying – they'll know for sure about Bednar.
00:05I think they'll put – nobody from the Yankees have said this.
00:09I think I was the first to report the qualifying offer is $23.15 million for 2027.
00:16I think the Yankees will put the qualifying offer on Bednar.
00:20And that would be an interesting decision for Bednar because, you know, look, not that long ago,
00:26he wasn't pitching well and the Pirates sent him to the minor leagues.
00:31I think that if you watch him pitch for the Pirates at the end and the Yankees last year and
00:35a half,
00:36you probably feel really good about him.
00:38But, like, there's enough little bit of, oh, it wasn't that long ago that there was this.
00:44Plus, now I've got to give up draft pick compensation if I sign this player.
00:50Could he end up saying yes to the $23.15 million?
00:54In which case, you almost have him replacing Grisham's salary for next year.
00:59And I think the Yankees would be like, yeah.
01:02The question I would ask is would you rather – I think the least Bednar probably gets is the Devin
01:07Williams contract,
01:08which was $3.51.
01:09I would rather have him $1.23 if I ran the Yankees and $3.51.
01:12I'll figure – I'll watch another year and if he's really good, I'm the Yankees.
01:16I'll try to outbid everybody again and I'll know the financial rules if I can outbid everybody.
01:20I'll try to outbid everybody.
