He'd never seen a staircase in his life. They absolutely terrified him. So he'd get stuck downstairs, all alone, crying — while the whole family was up here without him. 🐾

But Bear wasn't about to leave him down there.

He came down to him, then went back up one step at a time — waiting on each one. "Come on. Just one more. I've got you." And step by step, the little one got braver. Bear never rushed him, just stayed right at his shoulder the whole way up. 🥹

And then one day… he just did it. Bounded all the way up, to be with the rest of us. He thought he'd always be stuck down there, apart from his family — but the old boy taught him he could follow us anywhere.

Nobody asked him. He just refused to let his friend be left one floor below everyone he loved. 💛
