After a lengthy hike, Abby engaged her playful Golden Retriever in a game of fetch at the reservoir, aiming to help him clean up before their ride home. 'My dog has always been apprehensive around ducks, and I inadvertently tossed the ball just as a mother duck and her ducklings emerged from behind a tree,' Abby recounted. 'I anticipated he would be startled and return quickly, but the mother duck pursued him to ensure he stayed away from her young. Once they left, I felt it was safe to throw the ball again, yet the mother duck promptly returned and sent my dog out of the water once more.'
