00:00Leftover pizza out of a microwave is a warm floppy version of what it was the night before.
00:05Fries come out limp, wings come out rubbery. The oven fixes all of that but it takes 20 minutes
00:11to heat up first. In this Rocket Chef Turbo Grill review I'll go through what this microwave grill
00:16does about that, what I like and where it falls short. But if you're not interested in this review
00:21and just want to get this microwave grill at a discount then just click the link below this
00:25video in the description. Okay let's get straight into the pros of the Rocket Chef Turbo Microwave
00:31Grill. It actually browns and crisps. The grill plate gets hot inside the microwave and cooks the
00:38food where the two are touching. So the outside browns and sears at the contact points. The
00:44microwave is still heating the middle at the same time. That's how you get a crisp outside with the
00:49inside still juicy. They call it micro grill technology. The plain version is that a microwave
00:55heats food from the inside and this plate adds heat from the outside. And it works shockingly well.
01:01Leftover pizza comes back crispy. Reheating is where a normal microwave does the most damage to food.
01:09Put them on the grill plate instead and the outside crisps back up while the middle heats through.
01:14It's the difference between actually looking forward to finishing the leftovers and throwing them out.
01:20No oven to preheat. There's no preheating. The food goes on the plate, the lid goes on and it all
01:28goes
01:28in the microwave. Most foods cook in minutes so a burger or a grilled cheese is done before an oven
01:35would have reached temperature. You also skip the stovetop. That means no grease splattering across the
01:41cooktop and a lot less smoke in the kitchen. The lid holds the heat in and keeps splatter off the
01:46inside of the microwave. Grilled food anywhere. There's a microwave. This is the one for anyone
01:54whose kitchen is a microwave and not much else. A dorm room, an office break room, an RV, an apartment
02:01that doesn't allow a grill on the balcony. It's a plate and a lid so it takes up about as
02:07much room
02:07as a large dish. You get burgers, bacon, chicken, fish, vegetables and quesadillas out of a microwave.
02:14I wouldn't have believed that before. Okay, let's check out the negatives of the Rocket
02:19Chef grill. One serving at a time. The cooking surface is one pan's worth of space. That's fine
02:26for a burger or two, a few slices of pizza or one person's dinner. Cooking for a family means running
02:32it in batches and each batch is another few minutes. If you're feeding four people most nights,
02:38the oven is still the faster tool for that job. You'll need to learn your microwave.
02:44Microwaves vary in power, so the cooking times in the recipe guide are starting points,
02:49not guarantees. A lower powered microwave or one with hot and cold spots can leave one side browner
02:56than the other. So expect to flip food and adjust times for the first week with raw meat that matters
03:02more. A burger or a chicken breast still has to reach a safe temperature all the way through.
03:08Keep an instant read thermometer next to the microwave and use it. Overall, Rocket Chef Turbo
03:14Grill is a solid microwave grill for anyone cooking with a microwave and not much else. It puts a brown,
03:20crispy outside on food a microwave would normally leave soft. Most meals take minutes with no oven to
03:27preheat and no pan to scrub. It works in a dorm, an office or an RV where a real grill
03:33isn't an option
03:34and the plate wipes clean while the lid goes in the dishwasher. Now, if you want to get this microwave
