00:00We would have broken up anyway. Duos don't stay together.
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo. And today, we're counting down our picks for the public,
00:10persistent in-band feuds that, in some cases, were so explosive it helped define the band's legacy.
00:17No, that's well for real, man.
00:18Is it really?
00:19Yeah. I don't like each of them, man.
00:23Number 10. Zayn and Liam Payne. One Direction.
00:27When Zayn left the group, he cited a desire to be a, quote,
00:31normal 22-year-old, but later criticized the band's music as generic.
00:36There was obviously underlying issues, like, within our friendships, too.
00:39We'd been together every day for five years, and we got sick of each other, if I'm being completely honest.
00:44The tension reached a boiling point when Liam Payne candidly admitted on the Impulsive podcast
00:49that he had many reasons he, quote,
00:52disliked Zayn, citing a physical backstage altercation and frustration over Zayn's abrupt exit.
00:58However, Liam immediately qualified this, noting he would always be on Zayn's side due to their shared history.
01:05There's many reasons why I dislike Zayn, and there's many reasons why I'll always, always be on his side.
01:10Sadly, it took tragedy to put things in perspective.
01:13Following Liam's passing in 2024, Zayn shared a heartbreaking tribute,
01:19calling Liam, quote, a brother, and expressing deep regret that they didn't have more time to fully reconcile.
01:32Number 9. Jesse Nelson and Leanne Pinnock.
01:36Little Mix.
01:37After Jesse left Little Mix in 2020, citing mental health concerns,
01:41the public narrative initially remained supportive.
01:44It was the constant comparison and the scrutiny that I used to get, and that really mentally,
01:49but from the get-go I had that, from the minute I was on X Factor,
01:51which is obviously in the documentary.
01:52All the time.
01:53It was all the time, and it never left me.
01:55However, tension simmered behind the scenes,
01:58eventually erupting over accusations of blackfishing regarding Jesse's solo work.
02:02The situation turned toxic in 2021, when leaked DMs, allegedly from Leanne, surfaced,
02:09followed by a public livestream where Jesse laughed along as Nicki Minaj criticized her former bandmate.
02:15You don't have to attack someone else.
02:19If that's how you felt, why would you keep keying with her and being in the video for 10 years?
02:25Jesse later confirmed she was no longer on speaking terms with her former bandmates.
02:29To the fans, it seemed that, sadly, this iconic sisterhood had effectively dissolved,
02:34though Leanne shared that she reached out to Jesse following the announcement of her twin's spinal muscular atrophy diagnosis.
02:40I reached out to her, and we heard what was happening with her twins, and yeah, obviously it's just devastating.
02:48So yeah, we've all reached out to her, and I think she's really brave for what she's doing.
02:54Number eight, En Vogue.
02:56En Vogue's harmonies may have defined an era, but behind the Velvet Curtain, the group was a powder keg waiting
03:02to blow.
03:03We weren't friends. We were sisters. We were thrown into a situation.
03:06It's like you work at a job with people.
03:08You get to know people because they're your co-workers, but there's no real loyalty there at all.
03:14Dawn Robinson was the first to walk away in 1997,
03:18frustrated by management and pay disputes that left her feeling undervalued.
03:22Maxine Jones followed, and soon the courtroom became their new stage.
03:25With legal battles over the En Vogue name dragging on for years.
03:30It's crazy. There's a lot of division. There's a lot of separation.
03:33There's a lot of sides over here and over there.
03:36It's, you know, we're just doing what we do.
03:38We all earned the name. We all built the name together.
03:41All four of us. And Cindy and Terry decided to do their own thing.
03:44Fast forward to 2026, and the drama is still alive and kicking.
03:48With former members trading pointed words in the press about who deserves credit for the group's legacy.
03:53It's just too bad the group has continued to hold on to the bad blood.
04:02Number 7. LaToya, Latavia, Beyonce, and Kelly Rowland.
04:07Destiny's Child.
04:09In 1999, founding members LaToya and Latavia were blindsided when they saw themselves replaced in a music video,
04:16learning they'd been replaced not from friends, but from their lawyers.
04:19Then we got another call, and we heard it again.
04:22Then the next thing I'm looking at, BET, the premiere of Destiny's Child's new video, Say My Name.
04:28That's how we heard about it.
04:30The real culprit seemed to be manager Matthew Knowles.
04:33This set off a legal battle that would forever fracture the original lineup.
04:37Even though Beyonce and Kelly have since mended fences with their former bandmates, the scars remain.
04:42Their issue was with management and not with the two of you.
04:51The whole saga is a stark reminder that in the music industry,
04:55your family can be rewritten with a single legal document, and careers can pivot in an instant.
05:01It remains one of the most jaw-dropping and cold-blooded moments in girl group history.
05:05It happened suddenly, like at the spur of the moment, it was something that had been going on.
05:11It was things that we were noticing for years.
05:12It was conflicts that were going on.
05:14Yeah, for years.
05:14The departure was like this.
05:16Number six, Hall and Oates.
05:18This story is a cautionary tale of a partnership for the ages gone sour.
05:22We've always looked at ourselves as individuals working together, and I felt like I had the right to do that.
05:28But, you know, he didn't.
05:31By 2023, the duo's partnership had crumbled so completely that Hall took Oates to court,
05:37trying to block him from selling his share of their business.
05:40Hall called it the, quote, ultimate partnership betrayal.
05:43And suddenly, the guys who once harmonized on stage were battling it out in legal briefs.
05:48If they don't have an agreement, then they can't individually use the name of the brand without the permission of
05:55the other.
05:55On top of that, Hall also requesting a temporary restraining order against Oates, which the judge has granted.
06:02Two icons who once made magic together now barely speak, their legacy overshadowed by lawsuits and lingering resentment.
06:09These days, both focus on solo projects, treating their legendary collaboration as a closed chapter.
06:14The music lives on, but the brotherhood that fueled it never truly recovered.
06:18Will Hall and Oates ever perform together again?
06:20Not from my point of view, but you need to ask Daryl how he feels about it.
06:23Number 5. Mina and Jimin, AOA
06:27In 2020, AOA was rocked by controversy when former member Mina publicly accused fellow member Jimin of mistreatment over a
06:35number of years.
06:36Mina started posting on her Instagram that she was not in good spirits.
06:40Mina said the experience had a serious impact on her mental health,
06:43and the allegations quickly became a major story in South Korea's entertainment industry.
06:48The revelations shocked fans and dramatically changed public perception of the group.
06:52Mina made it seem like Jimin didn't want to remember apparently what she did,
06:56but through these dispatch transcripts, Jimin actually couldn't recall a specific moment.
07:01Even other AOA members tried to be neutral to help come to some sort of resolution that night.
07:06Jimin later apologized, but the situation had already caused significant damage to everyone involved.
07:11In the aftermath, Jimin stepped away from the entertainment industry,
07:14while Mina also left both the group and show business.
07:17The scandal effectively halted AOA's momentum, and the group has remained largely inactive ever since.
07:23Since the members, except for Tanmi, have left the company,
07:26it seems like they've definitely chosen to move on with their lives.
07:29Number 4. Brian Wilson and Mike Love, The Beach Boys
07:32The Beach Boys' sun-soaked harmonies masked a rivalry that has raged for decades.
07:37Would it be nice if we could wake up on the morning when today's news?
07:44Mike Love never hid his skepticism about the experimental Pet Sounds era,
07:48while Brian Wilson felt boxed in by Mike's relentless push for radio-friendly hits.
07:53What started as creative tensions soon spiraled into lawsuits and a never-ending exchange of public jabs.
07:59I don't like Mike Love at all. No.
08:02Why is that a problem?
08:04Because I don't like his attitude. It's too egotistical.
08:07The relationship fractured further during their 2012 reunion,
08:11when Love decided to continue touring underneath The Beach Boys' name without Wilson.
08:15It became the battle of pop visionaries,
08:17the tortured genius versus the commercial mastermind,
08:20and essentially two men who were musical innovators,
08:23but could never agree on the soul of their own songs.
08:25I mean, what's it like, on a personal level,
08:27to have time with these guys again, to spend this much time with them working?
08:31He can't hardly wait to get out of the studio.
08:33Number 3. Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, and Diana Ross.
08:38The Supremes.
08:39The Supremes made history together,
08:41but their personal relationships became increasingly strained as the group's success grew.
08:45Stop in the name of love before you break my heart.
08:52Much of the tension centered around Diana Ross' rise as the group's standout star,
08:57which created feelings of resentment and imbalance behind the scenes.
09:01Florence Ballard, in particular, felt pushed aside,
09:03as Ross received more attention and opportunities.
09:07When the pressures then start coming in from the outside of being a star now,
09:11all of a sudden, you know, this really kind of,
09:15Florence was just, it was, you know, it was just horrible for her,
09:19and she could not adjust to what was going on.
09:21What had once been a close friendship slowly gave way to distance,
09:25hurt feelings, and growing mistrust.
09:27Communication broke down,
09:28and the group's internal divisions became impossible to ignore.
09:32Years later, the emotional wounds still lingered,
09:34turning a partnership built on shared dreams
09:37into one remembered as much for its conflict as its incredible success.
09:40People are talking about the money,
09:42and that really is not it for me,
09:44because I make money, I do very well, you know.
09:47But the money represented how I would be treated.
09:49Number two, Simon and Garfunkel.
09:53From the outside, Simon and Garfunkel seemed like the perfect musical partnership,
09:57but behind the scenes, things were far more complicated.
10:00What was going on in the studio, though,
10:03was a real tug of war about taste and how to do it.
10:10Paul Simon was known for his meticulous songwriting,
10:13while Art Garfunkel often took center stage as the voice audiences connected with.
10:17Over time, creative differences and personal frustrations built up,
10:21especially during the making of Bridge Over Troubled Water.
10:24I got bridge over troubled water.
10:32Their relationship became a cycle of reunions,
10:34followed by fresh disagreements.
10:36Even after occasional comeback performances,
10:38the tension never fully disappeared.
10:40Today, they rarely interact,
10:42and it's clear that their partnership just couldn't recover.
10:44We guess they just weren't able to cross their own bridge across troubled waters.
10:48Are you going to go and do another movie now?
10:51And he said, yeah.
10:52And I said, why didn't you tell me?
10:55I just heard it from Chuck Rodin.
10:56He said, I was afraid if I told you,
10:59you would stop working on Bridge Over Troubled Water.
11:01And I thought, I got to get out of here.

11:311. Noel and Liam Gallagher
11:33Oasis
11:34Oasis was always a ticking time bomb,
11:37thanks to the Gallagher brothers' legendary brawls.
11:39It's no good to the band.
11:41It's no good for a band if someone's thinking about doing solo stuff.
11:44So we had a little argument about it and a little bit of a fight and that was that.
11:48For years, Noel and Liam hurled insults in interviews,
11:52sabotaged each other's gear,
11:53and stormed off stages from Manchester to Madison Square Garden.
11:57When Noel finally walked away in 2009,
12:00he said he just couldn't take another day with Liam.
12:02Their feud is the stuff of rock folklore,
12:05with social media spats and public meltdowns keeping the drama alive long after the last encore.
12:11I do find this fascinating, this thing between,
12:13so like, do you talk, like, you watch each other?
12:15So if he was on here, did you watch him on here?
12:17No.
12:18Oh, so, but he watches you.
12:20Oh, he's obsessed.
12:21Fans spent years hoping for a reunion,
12:24but the brothers' epic rivalry remains the biggest roadblock in rock history.
12:28Until recently.
12:29Just shows that even family ties can't survive when egos go supernova on the world stage.
12:40Which band breakup do you still find the most shocking?
