00:00After nine weeks bringing Peter Rabbit to life across Newcastle and North Tyneside,
00:04the sculptures have come together for one final farewell, with a charity auction set
00:08to raise money for St Oswald's Hospice.
00:10So the story of this one is actually the cup final, the little blurb we wrote, it's the
00:17story of fans walking up to the stadium with their scarves and their flags, it's Bruno
00:22lifting the trophy, it's Dan Burns' header, it's all the lads and lasses there as I described
00:28it, and obviously a little bit of flag flooring in.
00:30It's been lovely just like, even just sitting with a coffee just from a distance and seeing
00:34everybody come up and like all the kids really enjoy going and seeing it and everything, it's
00:38been lovely, it's been really nice.
00:40It was brilliant having it at St James's, just being outside there, like yeah, I was really
00:47pleased with my spot, I would say.
00:49So Timetastic Peter was inspired by my frequent walks and bike rides along the river, and all
00:56the landmarks you see as you go, and the little surprises you get around every bend as well.
01:02The other one is Penny Hopper, now this was done with a Durham based business, and the
01:08idea with this one was all about the Miners Gala in its 140th year.
01:13The Tales on the Tine Trail featured dozens of artists designed sculptures in streets and
01:17parks across the region.
01:18Visitors saw the collection together at Newcastle Civic Centre this weekend, including specially created
01:23pieces just for the auction.
01:2540 lots will go under the hammer, with starting bids expected around £2,000.
01:30It's, I mean this trail has been good for so many reasons, I think it's made art accessible,
01:35it's got kids and families out walking, discovering places, and it has brought a lot of joy to
01:40a lot of people.
01:42But I think ultimately to know that there's going to be money raised for Saylesworth Hospice
01:47at the end of the day, for people that are, you know, facing incredible struggles, to know
01:55that that money is being raised to help them, to help them.
01:59So, yeah, like I say, I couldn't be more happy to have been part of this.
02:04I mean, my rabbit was actually, through luck really, was placed around the corner from
02:09where I grew up, so it was in the park of my childhood, and my dad still lives around
02:14the corner from it, and so we go to that park quite a lot with my children.
02:18So I was checking in on them a bit, but to be able to stand there and actually just like
02:24see people engaging with it, hearing, you know, seeing the kids, and looking at the different
02:28stories, oh look at that, look at that, and that was a buzz.
02:32Oh, it's a huge honour to me, to think people would be interested in purchasing something
02:38that I've done, and that money then going into a charity that I care about personally
02:42myself, it's amazing, it's genuinely a huge honour.
02:46The auction takes place on Tuesday the 13th of October, with online bidding also available.
02:51Proceeds support St Oswald's Hospice and its specialist care for people with life-limiting
02:55conditions and their families across the North East.
