The Pines Hotel was once a popular resort hotel in the famous Catskills Borscht Belt. Built in 1933, the hotel grew during the '50s and '60s and buildings were added one-by-one, connected by a series of breezeways and passageways. The hotel boasted an ice skating rink, fully equipped theater, golf course, baseball field, conference center, and both indoor and outdoor pools.
The Pines eventually closed its doors in 1998, and is now owned by a bankrupt shell company called Fallsburg Estates, LLC. Poor roof maintenance has resulted in severe water damage, and thanks to looters, scrappers, and vandals, the place is quickly falling apart.
