Master Crystal PvP in Minecraft 1.21 with a clear, practical guide built around the hit crystal, advanced combo techniques, and the full dueling kit. Rasplin breaks down how to launch opponents into the air, place obsidian and crystals fast with hotkeys, and turn basic exchanges into deadly pressure with double taps and butterfly crystals.

The tutorial starts with the core crystal PvP setup and explains why timing, movement, and keybinds matter so much. From there it moves into advanced crystal PvP tips like placing extra crystals before the enemy lands, using slow fall to make combos easier, and reading when to pearl out, gap up, or reset. The final section walks through real fight decisions, including armor management, totem use, ledge mistakes, wall pressure, and when a butterfly crystal is the smarter play.

If you want a Minecraft PvP guide, crystal PvP tutorial, or 1.21 PvP tips video that focuses on practical mechanics rather than theory, this breakdown is made for learning and practice. It is especially useful for players training on PvP Legacy, vanilla survival-style servers, or anyone looking for crystal PvP practice, advanced crystal techniques, and dueling strategy.

00:00Hey guys, this is Razzplan and in this video I'm going to be teaching you guys all about
00:04crystal pvp and what it takes to master it.
00:06Now if you don't know what crystal pvp is, it's basically the kind of pvp used in vanilla
00:11survival servers.
00:12Little disclaimer, this video is not going to be covering respawn anchors, instead you
00:16can check out the server video I made explaining how to use anchors and it'll be in the top
00:21right right now.
00:22Also, quick little request for today's video, comment below if you know of a different crystal
00:26community that isn't based around pvp legacy or vanilla event network.
00:30I'd be interested to see if there's a whole other community out there that we don't know
00:33about.
00:34Make sure to comment the server ip or discord.
00:36Now then, let's begin the video.
00:38In order to make this more organized, I'm dividing this video into three main parts.
00:42Number one is going to be the hit crystal, showing you the main kind of combo you need
00:47to know how to do.
00:48Number two is going to be more advanced crystalline techniques that you can use after you learn
00:53the hit crystal.
00:54And then number three is just going to cover the rest of the kit and how to use it basically.
00:58So here's number one, the hit crystal.
01:02So what is the hit crystal exactly?
01:04Well, the most well known and useful technique in the community.
01:08I've personally learned this from my close friend Golfe, as well as Water Doge, and I'll
01:12link both their channels in the description.
01:13The basic idea is that you hit them up into the air before you crystal them so that they
01:19take more damage.
01:19And if you didn't know, yes, you take more damage if you're above a crystal.
01:23Or if your feet are next to it.
01:25Now, to perform a hit crystal, you're going to need to custom keybind two of your hotbar
01:29slots for an obsidian and a crystal.
01:31I have my obsidian and crystal in slots 7 and 9, so I custom keybinded X and Q, but
01:36you can use anything you're comfortable with really.
01:38Some people use ENR, some people use 4 and 5.
01:41It's up to you.
01:41Now you can technically still use the scroll wheel if they're next to each other, but trust
01:45me, it is so much easier to just have hotkeys rather than scrolling.
01:48So now, how do you actually do the hit crystal?
01:51This is going to sound like a lot at first, but over time, it becomes like muscle memory.
01:55The first step is hitting them up in the air with your sword.
01:58Make sure you're holding W as you do this so you knock them back and they take more upward
02:03knockback.
02:04Now while they're in mid air, you have to hotkey to obsidian and place it next to them, as well
02:08as the crystal.
02:08This is where most people struggle at first, but if you just practice hotkeys a lot, it
02:12becomes really easy.
02:13Now the last step is just hitting the crystal with left click.
02:15If they're below around half HP when you hit crystal them, then their totem will pop.
02:18Additionally, if you place 2 or 3 crystals while they're mid air, you may pop their totem
02:22and kill them before they hit the ground.
02:24That is called a double tap, and we'll be talking about that in the next section.
02:27The easiest way to practice your first hit crystals is in single player on mobs.
02:31Using the command in the description, you can spawn in a zombie with resistance.
02:35Once you can hit crystal mobs that aren't moving, try dueling real players on either
02:39PvP Legacy or Vanilla Event Network.
02:41Both IPs will be in the description.
02:42Now, we're going to talk about the more advanced crystal techniques.
02:48So what are some advanced crystal techniques?
02:51I'm going to be showcasing you two of the main ones.
02:54The first of which being already mentioned, the double tap, as well as the butterfly crystal.
02:58So the easier one, the double tap, is literally just the hit crystal, except you place more
03:02crystals.
03:03Depending on your ping to a server, you can place anywhere from 2 up to almost 5 crystals before
03:08they hit the ground.
03:09Now using slow fall on your target will make this easier as well.
03:11There is not much else to say about this one.
03:13Now the butterfly is just where you place 2 obsidians and 2 crystals before they hit the
03:18ground.
03:19I demonstrate that in this clip right here.
03:20To practice this, you can just try running up to them as I'm doing here and just repeating
03:25crystalline and just increase the speed at which you place your hit crystals.
03:29And like the double tap, you can increase it to even more crystals as shown here.
03:37Now I'm going to include a kind of bonus tip.
03:40If you want to get some really deadly hit crystals, then you can actually place your
03:43hit crystal behind them and they'll take more upward KB which lets you double tap them
03:48more often.
03:48It's actually pretty hard to get down consistently but if you do, it is very deadly.
03:53This concludes section 2 and now we'll talk about the rest of the kit as well as how to
03:57use it.
03:59Now this is the third and final section of the video.
04:01We're going to take a look at the average crystal kit as well as analyzing a bit of gameplay
04:05showing you what to do with the kit and when to use it.
04:08Alright so here's the crystal kit for the crystal duel on pvp legacy.
04:13You got the sword, it has knockbacks so it's easier to knock them up for longer.
04:17Pearls, obviously for running away or catching up, whatever you need.
04:20Gapples, that's also an obvious one, just you know, keep your health up.
04:24Zidian, crystals, crossbow for applying your slow fall, you got a totem in your hotbar.
04:30Now, tip here is have a keybind for the totem, well you should have a keybind for everything
04:35but the totem is a big one because if you hold it as you're in midair, you can prevent
04:39being double tapped and killed.
04:40Normally I'd have anchors and glowstone for the last two but this video is not specifically
04:44with anchors so we'll just put pots in here.
04:46And then the rest of the kit, you got slow fall arrows, obviously that makes it easier
04:49to hit crystal them, xp to mend and netherite, you got a pickaxe in case you need it to dig
04:55out of obsidian or whatever, pots, a few turtle pots, you don't need that many, it's
05:00just for dire situations, and then a few extra totems and pearls, that's the whole kit.
05:05Alright, so when you get into the game, you can organize your hotbar like I'm doing if
05:09you need to, and if you're being rushed like this, that's a good time to use a pearl.
05:13Make sure you hit them with slow fall at least once every 30 seconds to get the most advantage
05:17out of the slow fall arrows and your crossbow.
05:19Right here, we're kind of just trading for hit crystals, and you don't want to do this
05:22if you're low on hp.
05:23So right here, I pearl out because I get low, and then I heal and go back in.
05:28Now in an ideal situation, you want to gap up 3 times, because that gives you the max healing.
05:33You'll also want to pearl a bit of a far ways away, maybe even throw 2.
05:36I had my friend TigerPandaGamer demonstrate what not to do here.
05:40You do not want to pearl onto a ledge or gap up on a ledge, because then your feet are
05:45on
05:45the same level as crystal and you'll get your totem pop.
05:47Another good time to use a pearl is if you're about to get butterflied, you can pearl out
05:51of it to avoid getting your totem popped.
05:53So every so often, you're going to need to gap up and amend armor.
05:57So make sure you're checking that periodically.
05:59Right here, I do a little bit, but you don't have to do that early on.
06:02Here's a little tip.
06:03If you jump right when you're about to get hit crystal, it may just save you a totem.
06:07Now a good place to do a butterfly crystal if you can is against a wall like this,
06:11because it'll knock them straighter up since they're being pushed against the wall.
06:14You can also use a double tap if you know that they're really low,
06:16and if they don't hawk you to a totem or pearl out, they die.
06:19Right here, you can also take off some armor that is already full enough so you can repair
06:23lower armor more.
06:24This is a little risky if you don't know where they are though,
06:26so only do it if you're sure they're not near.
06:28Avoid gapping up in your obsidian like this, or else you may be double tapped as you're eating.
06:32So you pearl out like that, and then we're good to go again.
06:35You can aggro pearl like this too if they're low,
06:38although it's somewhat risky since you're going to be only gapped once or twice.
06:42If you ever pearl up a ledge, be ready to place an obsidian because they will
06:45be waiting for it.
06:46So you can block like that, and then when you need to go back down the ledge,
06:50make sure a pearl, never walk down.
06:52However, you don't want to pearl too close to the ledge or else you can ledge block like that.
06:55Or you may have your pearl blocked literally by the crystal entity.
06:59That can happen, yes, and it can kill you.
07:01I knew Skabe was low here, so I aggro pearled and went for a butterfly,
07:04knowing there was a good chance it would kill him, and it did.
07:07As mentioned earlier, if you knock someone against a wall,
07:09then it's a good idea to go for a butterfly.
07:11But you can also use this if they knock against a obsidian.
07:14Something about that jumping thing I talked about earlier is you don't want to do it every time,
07:18or else it may be predicted like that.
07:20Final thing to know is that in netherite armor, knockback is random,
07:23so it's not guaranteed you'll be able to hit crystal them.
07:26And that's about all the major tips I can think of right now,
07:28but there's a lot more to it, and it's mostly about practice.
07:32So get out there and start playing.
07:34Hopefully you can do better with these new tips.
07:35If you do start playing better, feel free to hit that subscribe button.
07:39No pressure though.
07:40And as always, hope you guys enjoyed this video.
07:43See you in the next one.
