00:00I'm Bob Dillahunty, the President and Chief Pilot of the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society.
00:06Behind me is the former Qantas, John Travolta 707, which we were going to fly out from Brunswick
00:12after John donated it to us. And unfortunately, after COVID, we found airworthiness directives
00:19and some corrosion that needed to be attended to. And had we continued to do that in America,
00:24probably would have taken another five years and another five million dollars. So
00:27after meeting with John Travolta in Brunswick last year, we discussed the value in keeping the
00:36aircraft to bring to Australia by pulling the wings off and putting it all back together here.
00:41Man made these things, man put them together, man can pull them apart. So we're going through that
00:48process at the moment. And after all this time, we're really excited that the Americans who we
00:53contracted to pull the wings off are going to be here on Wednesday and Thursday. They're already
01:00in Australia, they've been preparing to do this, but cranes will arrive on Wednesday and Thursday
01:05to get the wings back into position. And then 4,800 bolts can be put back into the wings.
01:12And once they're all secure, we'll put the undercarriage legs in that might take another
01:17two or three weeks before that happens. Then the aircraft's actually mobile, then we'll move it
01:23around so we can get cranes in the back and put the tail feathers back together and progress with
01:29everything else that needs to be. It's a great big jigsaw puzzle at the moment, including the engine
01:33pylons and the engines to go back. So it's a big job. It'll be pretty interesting for everybody who
01:39wanted to see it come together over the next month or so.
