00:00Hello, how are you doing? Probably not so good, right? If you're here, it's because you're feeling tingling numbness in
00:07one foot or in both feet.
00:09Oh boy, but take it easy, because in this video I'm going to show you the best exercises I know
00:14to ease and overcome the tingling in your feet.
00:19Look at this question. I wanted to know about tingling in the feet. My mother-in-law has been suffering
00:24for about three years.
00:25She takes strong medication, but it seems like these meds are just like water.
00:30And if you want to ask a question too, leave your question down here in the comments. That way I
00:36can help you.
00:37Maybe record a video to answer a question, and you won't miss out either, right?
00:42Subscribe to the channel here, hit the bell, and turn on all notifications.
00:46Because that way, when I answer your question, YouTube will notify you that I'm putting out posting a new video.
00:53And you won't be left not knowing that I've already answered it. Deal? So let's get to it.
00:59Alexander, tingling in the feet. Why does this happen?
01:03Look, there are actually several things, several diseases, several imbalances that can occur that result in this tingling sensation, numbness
01:14in the feet.
01:16Remember that when we talk about tingling, numbness, burning, we are usually talking about nerves.
01:25And what about the nerves?
01:27They are like wires that connect every part of the body to the brain.
01:33They run from every part of the body, including the foot, enter through the spine and come all the way
01:40to the brain.
01:41So when we talk about nerves and consequently about tingling, we have to think about the path these nerves take.
01:49Now I want to show you the main nerves that carry sensation from the foot to the brain.
01:56In other words, which are the main nerves that we are going to learn, how to mobilize and work on
02:01to improve their function in this video.
02:03We have three main nerves or three nerve pathways responsible for sensation in the foot.
02:09The first nerve is the tibial nerve, which comes right here along the inside of the foot.
02:14And it has a very important passage here between the malleolus, this ankle bone on the inside, and the heel.
02:23The other nerve we have is the superficial fibular nerve.
02:28This nerve right here, let me turn it a bit more.
02:31It runs right here between the shin bone and the bone on the side of the foot.
02:35And it's responsible for sensation on top of the instep.
02:40And there are other nerves that run behind here, behind the malleolus, behind this outer bone, and the heel.
02:49And it's these three passages that we're going to work on and improve right now.
02:53The first passage is between the bone, the ankle bone on the outside of the foot, and the heel.
03:02I want you to place two, or if they fit, three fingers right here.
03:07Look.
03:08Press.
03:09Your finger gains the skin.
03:10And you're going to try to pull the skin up as if you were peeling it away from what's underneath.
03:18Pull.
03:19And you're going to make this movement.
03:21Look.
03:21Sole of the foot.
03:23Lift your toes up.
03:25Stretch it.
03:26Bend it.
03:27You're going to do this ten times, pulling the skin upward.
03:30All right?
03:31Good.
03:34Three, three, four, five.
03:38Alexandre is slipping.
03:41Go back and hold it firmly down there again.
03:44Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
03:49Now we move to the gap between the outer bone and the shin bone.
03:55All right?
03:56Place three fingers here.
03:58Pull it up.
04:00And again, ten times.
04:03Lift your toes.
04:04Lift your heel.
04:05Two, three, four, five.
04:10Alexandre is slipping.
04:11Go back and hold it again.
04:14Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
04:20Lastly, let's work on this inner part between the shin bone.
04:25Exactly this one on the inside of the ankle and the heel.
04:31Here we can already do it sitting down.
04:33And here, look.
04:34I'm going to pull the skin and make the movement.
04:39Ten times.
04:39Three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
04:47And now that we have already improved the passage of these nerves to the feet, we've improved
04:53how these nerves move and function.
04:56Now we can work on the nerve as a whole.
04:58We're going to do an exercise that will act like a pumping motion.
05:03We're going to increase the amount of blood, nutrients, and oxygen that reaches the nerve.
05:09And that way, you will function better.
05:11With it functioning better, you reduce tingling, numbness, and burning.
05:16Come along with me.
05:17And as I said, to do this pumping, we're going to stretch, move the nerve all the way from
05:21the foot up to the head.
05:24So we have to start by moving the spine.
05:26And the last thing to move is the foot, the leg.
05:29All right, let's go and put your hands behind your back or just keep your hands here at
05:34your sides.
05:35And I want you to do this.
05:37Let your spine slump, chin to chest, and you're going to point your toes toward the ceiling,
05:45making this movement.
05:46Here, stretch as far as you can just before it hurts.
05:51Okay?
05:53Alexandra, if it starts hurting here, then you only go this far.
05:57Deal?
05:58It's pain-free the whole time.
05:59Once you reach this position, you're going to do it again.
06:0330 movements.
06:04See, toe, heel, stretch, and pull, stretch, and pull, and long-lived.
06:09Shuxa's party.
06:15Let's do 30 movements, Alexandra.
06:17I can't do 30.
06:18Then do three sets of 10, no problem.
06:22Imagine that when we do this, it's like a kind of stretch, quote-unquote, where I'm stretching
06:27the nerve from the foot all the way to the spine, up to the head, up to the brain.
06:32And that, what I am doing is stretch and relax, stretch and relax, stretch and relax.
06:39That way, blood can reach the nerve and it starts to work better.
