00:00the girl had a spontaneous idea she held her half eaten popsicle up to the horse's mouth to
00:04her
00:04surprise the horse devoured the rest in a single gulp so she unwrapped another popsicle
00:08took a
00:09bite herself and fed it to the horse which swallowed it whole in seconds watching the
00:12stick licked clean the girl became even more convinced that this intelligent racehorse would
00:16definitely win tomorrow's race but during the pre-race inspection the girl's father cohen
00:20discovered that one of sonja's legs was abnormally hot he immediately suggested changing horses but
00:25the owner refused outright his reason was that a middle eastern prince had traveled specifically
00:29to watch sonja race and he wasn't about to substitute her the race went ahead as scheduled
00:33sonja had an excellent start and led throughout the race the girl cheered frantically from the
00:37sidelines but in the next instant sonja suddenly collapsed seeing this the girl immediately
00:41vaulted over the barrier and rushed forward unfortunately sonja's right front leg was
00:45severely fractured she would never race again the owner even decided to have sonja euthanized
00:49this infuriated cohen so he decided to buy sonja for 33 000 hearing this the girl
00:54looked at sonja
00:54with hope in her eyes in the days that followed cohen devoted himself entirely to caring for the
00:58injured horse meanwhile the girl would rush to the stable every day after school and quietly keep
01:02her company under their devoted care sonja's leg miraculously began to heal the naturally
01:06spirited girl couldn't resist riding her and galloping for fun worried about his daughter's
01:10safety cohen jumped in his car and followed close behind but sonja kept running faster and
01:14faster cohen had no choice he had to slam on the accelerator and speed ahead intercepting
01:18sonja to ensure the girl's safety later a worker told cohen sonja had just reached speeds
01:22over 48 miles per hour the level of a top-tier racehorse cohen immediately asked a
01:26veterinarian to examine her it was discovered that the leg injury had completely healed so
01:30he decided right then to send sonja back to racing but on race day cohen noticed her leg
01:34was hot again
01:35he arranged for a worker to take her back to the stable for examination but stubborn sonja refused
01:39to go cohen went to check on her himself and from the look in her eyes he seemed to
01:43read a question
01:43if a racehorse can't race anymore what's the point of living no one believed in sonja
01:47coming back from
01:47such a serious injury her odds of winning were 80 to one but even so cohen bet his entire
01:52500 on
01:53sonja as the race bell rang all the top racehorses thundered out of the
01:56gates at first sonja ran
01:57unremarkably while the girl cheered enthusiastically from the sidelines sensing the girl's voice
02:02sonja
02:02began to accelerate she sped up further passing one horse after another the crowd erupted in excitement
02:07finally sonja crossed the finish line with a narrow margin pulling off an incredible victory
