At 52, Ray Kroc was broke, rejected by banks, and told he was too old to succeed.

He didn’t accept “no” as the final answer.

Instead, he believed in the opportunity, kept pushing, and went on to build McDonald’s into one of the most recognizable business empires in the world.

Your age isn’t your ceiling. Your circumstances aren’t your destiny. **Your decisions are.**

00:00a crock was broke at 52 years old driving around in a car staying in cheap crappy motels trying to
00:10sell a milkshake multi-mixer to various restaurants and not doing very well getting tons of no's and
00:21tons of rejection tons of people just slamming the door in his face over and over again and
00:27every once in a while he'd make a sale to put food on the table and just barely keep above
00:33water
00:34and at 52 years old by listening to recordings every morning and every night on positivity
00:42motivation inspiration and because he was so darn persistent and he was consistent with his efforts
00:49and he was focused on becoming a success and nothing was going to stop him he he embraced
00:56the possibility thinkers greed when faced with a mountain i will not quit i'll either go around
01:02it go over it dig a tunnel through it or just stay where i am and turn the mountain into
01:08a gold mine
01:10that was his mindset called the possibility thinkers creed but he was 52 years old when he started
01:22mcdonald's and it wasn't an automatic success he got the contract for franchises the first franchise he
01:31had was in des plains illinois right down the street they just tore it down a few years ago i
01:36used to love
01:36going over there very nostalgic you could see the original first mcdonald's franchise in des plains illinois
01:42not too far from here and it was a relative success but he wasn't making very much money
01:50but he saw potential so he got other people to get franchises and by the way he didn't have
01:55to sell franchises back then because nobody would buy a franchise he gave franchises away
01:59and he was getting 1.4 percent of the sales of that franchise and when that money came in he
02:06had to give
02:060.4 of it to the mcdonald's brothers so he got just one percent and that he couldn't even pay
02:12his
02:13overheads so it wasn't a successful venture it was hard to get people to take the franchises he was even
02:20though he was giving them away for free and when he finally did get people to take the franchises he
02:25was
02:25getting such a little amount back it wasn't working he couldn't pay his bills he was behind on his mortgage
02:33he faced adversity again so he he went after his dream and then it looked like he was going to
02:40go
02:40bankrupt some people don't know this part of the story he went into the bank to try to renegotiate
02:47his mortgage because he they were going to foreclose on his house
